Is this really the only playoff game that the Giants and the Cowboys played in NFL HISTORY??!!!! WOW! That surprises me especially that these two teams were dominant at times back in the day.
It also marks the first of many games in which Eli was basically a non factor and the defense carried him to two SB MVPs. Seriously, someone on the defense should have had the MVP both times. Brady was scoring an average of 35 and 32 points and the Giants defense held him to 14 and 17 point and all the credit went to Eli. An absolute travesty of justice.
In the illustrious historical rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys, it's kinda hard to believe 2007 was the FIRST time ever that they played in the playoffs...
Gee…it’s amazing when the Giants had a good offensive line and defense, how great Eli was…just telling the haters! You don’t win two Super Bowls as underdogs unless you have a great qb.
Considering that he had a final 117-117-1 record, only 5 of 15 10+ win seasons, I'd say he was a pretty good QB on a couple of teams that peaked at exactly the right time. I like the guy, but I'd never call him great.
@@indy_go_blue6048 Eli was not that good. In fact, it is fair to say that he was below average. In his 16 years, his passer rating was below the NFL average 9 times (more than 50%). Furthermore, in 2011, the 49ers had 27 and the Packers scored 38. And once again in the playoffs neither one scored over 20 and Eli was given credit? Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realize that the defense held 5 pro bowl QBs to almost 14 points below their average. Eli had ZERO to do with this. Think about this.... @WheelsAlwaysTurning I would go as far as saying Tom Coughlin was an even better coach than Bill Parcells. Parcells had Lawrence Taylor, the greatest defensive player in NFL history AND Bill Belichick, the greatest defensive coordinator (who would go on to be widely considered as the goat head coach) on his team so having both first ballot hall of farmers made it a lot easier for Parcells to win. Meanwhile Tom Coughlin had lesser (still very good) players and coaches on his roster and yet he still managed to get the same number of Super Bowl rings, especially in the salary cap era where you can only spend so much to build a roster so yeah, I give Coughlin the nod over Parcells for greatest Giants football coach!
Not may, a td would have won it. And if Crayton would not have stuttered at the end, but kept running the route like a normal receiver at a middle school or higher would do, that also was a td. Fasano also dropping that td that hit him in the chest.

Seriously, in the 2007 regular season, the Cowboys scored 31 and 45 points against the Giants. The Packers scored 35. The Patriots 38. And then when none of them score over 20 in the playoffs, it was because of Eli? Please explain.

It doesn't take "TWO WEEKS" to prepare for a football game), and how he "BLEW THE GAME!" When I bring up WR Patrick Crayton - who a lot of people kept saying, he had "THE BEST HANDS ON THE TEAM" (WRONG. Witten had the best hands on the team. Witten doesn't even play for them anymore and his hands are still better than anyone's on the current team), and how he DROPPED "TWO PASSES" (something a player with "THE BEST HANDS ON THE TEAM" would never do in a playoff game) that would've extended drives - and help RUN THE CLOCK OUT on the Giants, people look at me, like I don't know what I'm talking about and want to keep talking about Romo going to Cancun, and how he's a "CHOKER." Well at least it hasn't been over 2 decades since ur team won a championship. At least u can say that. Us dallas fans still have to rely on the 90s dynasty as a bragging point which kida really freaking sucks bc I've seen some dallas rosters since then that were pretty close to being equally as talented as the early 90s rosters but they just have zero discipline. The thing I didn't get was the giants hiring Jason Garrett. They literally watch that guy clap on the sidelines 2 times a year every year for years and coach some really talented dallas rosters to mediocre records and they decided to hire him??? Mind blown how literally any professional team would hire him. But then again dallas hired Mccarthy and that guy ain't any better. For real, not to mention the fact that the offsides called on Demarcus Ware was a terrible call, and if the phantom penalty wasn't called then the Giants would have gotten no points instead of seven on their first drive.
I would say cope but this happened almost 20 years ago more like move on cowboys being humiliated in the playoffs is as consistent as the 49ers choking in either the NFCCG or the Superbowl

didnt TO go to the SB with the Eagles after this?
It also marks the first of many games in which Eli was basically a non factor and the defense carried him to two SB MVPs. Seriously, someone on the defense should have had the MVP both times. Brady was scoring an average of 35 and 32 points and the Giants defense held him to 14 and 17 point and all the credit went to Eli. An absolute travesty of justice.
In the illustrious historical rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys, it's kinda hard to believe 2007 was the FIRST time ever that they played in the playoffs...
And to this day it's the last.

And the 7 times it was above the average, 5 times it was 3.8 or less on a scale that goes up to 158.3 or just 2.4% above. Or basically still just the average. He had two years in 16 in which he was somewhat above average. He won the lottery twice. That doesn't make him good. And those are the facts.
@@tomknapp6194 Facts? He didn't win the lottery. He took two Super Bowl MVP awards. Took. Them. From the likes of Tony Romo, Bret Favre, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers. Those are actual facts.
@@jasonreid9267 Really? In the regular seasons, the Cowboys scored 45/31 points. The Packers scored 35 points. And the Patriots scored 38. And then in the playoffs, Eli actually scored fewer points per game and had last second lucky plays to beat each one of those pro bowl QBs who scored less than 20 points. And Eli was the hero?
Furthermore, in 2011, the 49ers had 27 and the Packers scored 38. And once again in the playoffs neither one scored over 20 and Eli was given credit?
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realize that the defense held 5 pro bowl QBs to almost 14 points below their average. Eli had ZERO to do with this.
Think about this.... Eli vs playoff teams that score 20 or less: 8-0. Eli vs playoff teams that score 21 or more: 0-4. How do you explain this? If you think it was Eli, how do you think those teams made it to the playoffs scoring 20 or less points per game? He didn't. Eli was lucky. End of story.
Having a great defence was 50% of it.
