    Just received my 14 gt cooker. Just found your videos. Don't know which I'm going to enjoy the most::: the cooker or the videos. You are the Best Ever. Thanks buddy

    A big spoon inside and a fork outside to lift out. A turkey would fit. Those chickens are so much bigger than they used to be. Less than 3 pounds would have been the norm for fryers.

    I am looking into buying the 14qt GoWise.
    I see you putting a steamer tray that is metal, making me think that if I want to do Pot in Pot cooking with this GoWise, I'd be able use my existing stackable stainless steel that I use wirh Instant Pot.
    I don't want to scratch the ceramic and so I will use the sreamer insert at the bottom. I am sure the pot is high enough.

    next time, season one of them *under the skin* the day before, be sure to include kosher salt. It'll knock your socks off. That's what America's test kitchen recommends for turkey.
    Our favorite recipe in the instapot: boneless thighs, a jar of green (medium-to mild) salsa. A jar of picante would work well to. The meat seems to dilute any added liquid, but salsa/picante holds up well, even after being diluted a bit.

      +Mindspring Yahoo Ohhh That sounds good. I'll try to remember that the next time. :)

    are you able to adjust the saute function? I have not used the saute feature on my instant pot a whole lot so I'm wondering if it's just one level of heat or if you can turn it down or up. still watching.

    I just got this cooker. Is it normal for the regulator valve to leak a small amount of steam?

    • @RickMammana

      Yes that's normal. You can tap it or wiggle it when it reaches pressure and it might stop a little more. Thanks for watching!

    • @RickMammana
      @RickMammana  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, Well fiddle around with it a little, pull the valve off the top and rinse it out, and the rubber gasket too. Although you probably did all that. But sometimes something is just a little off. The GoWise is Great. Yeah Fun!

    • @tms6884
      @tms6884 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I always take the rubber gasket out & wash it each use, but I haven't taken the valve off the top yet. I didn't know it would come off. I'll try that & see if it helps! Thanks for the tips!

      I got it from Amazon back the end of August/first part of September. I may try to contact the company & see what they tell me. I wasn't too worried since it didn't cost a whole lot & I've been super busy...but I might just see what I can do about it. Thanks for the friendly "push!" :)

    The chickens look really good. The GoWise seems to brown better than the IP. My chicken never browns well and I give up with the oil splashing all over. I liked the way they looked after cooking too. Hmm, wish I could get one that large, but no way for me.

      Rick Mammana - I wish the GoWise came with a stainless steel insert like the InstantPot though !

    • @RickMammana
      @RickMammana  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      USNVA11 Oh but the ceramic coated is excellent! I like it better than stainless or the regular non stick. So easy to clean.

    • @USNVA11
      @USNVA11 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rick Mammana - Ok. It's just that I had a bad experience with a ceramic coated pan set. After just a few uses, food items began to stick to the pan surface badly. This was even after coating liberally with non stick cooking spray. Guess I may have just purchased a defective product. It turned me off to ceramic coated cooking surfaces.

    • @harryballz6358
      @harryballz6358 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Must have been a really junk set you got because I have had 2 sets of ceramic coated pans but both were extremely high grade from a Big Lots store...lol
      First set I used over 10yrs until we got sick of looking at the design/colors and put them in a yard sale, the second set I still have and still use daily and are 14+ yrs old. We only burned one pan too bad to use again several yrs ago by turning wrong stove burner on.
      If you're getting old like me & forget food and burn up something while cooking like I just did last week (rice) then food sticks and you must let it soak a bit to clean up, unlike stainless that almost everything cooked in it sticks to it but does clean easy. Normally both clean up very easy.
      Burnt black rice was scorched on the bottom even, but after soaking a few minutes then using a plastic scrub pad it looks & works perfect today. Try that with teflon, but also
      the ceramic may chip (like paint) from the metal utensils I should never use it won't peel off like teflon.
      As long as I've owned mine I can count the times something actually stuck making them hard to clean, they always clean up in seconds but we always rinse our pans out with hot water just after use unless it gets stored in the fridge with leftovers.
      We use them for everything and I assure you ceramic will outlast teflon any day but treat it like teflon never turn it on without oil or food in the pan or it will burn up unlike stainless that won't.
      Love my GoWise 12qt.
