Well, it was definitely entertaining! I'll keep my fingers crossed for a similar video if they add an achievement like this to Pillars of Eternity 2. ;-)
And probably one of the most impressive gaming achievement I've done. However I hope you've seen more than I've done otherwise that would be not big deal :-)
I've used this guide as an inspiration for my own "The Ultimate" achievement, I kind of followed your stats but also made my own alterations. I didn't understand that you were manipulating the random loot tables until it was too late, not having the Boots of Stealth made the start much more difficult but I managed eventually. I mostly did my own thing after the start and followed this guide mostly for the bounties and dragons. Some of your bounties were really inspired, while others felt a bit lazy, I found a better way to do the "Captain Muarumi Bounty" for example. The Dragon runs were amazing though, I followed them almost identically, I couldn't separate the dragons (at the start like you did) at the Llengrath battle, but I was able to separate them after everything else died with my second "Shadowing Beyond" which was much easier to do. To answer some questions from people you didn't: This guide is still viable with the latest/last build of Pillars Of Eternity This guide will not lead to "Relative Pacifism". I was actively trying to kill as little as possible and killed far less than you while adapting my gameplay accordingly, but I still ended up with 206 kills in the end. So it's pretty close, but there are too many unavoidable fights were you're forced to kill. The Endless Paths of Od Nua especially forces you to kill a lot, Concelhaut is another one were you accumulate a particularly high amount of kills, and the Dragon Fights also require you to kill a lot of enemies. I did make some unnecessary kills at the start so the number could still be lower but otherwise I did avoid killing at all cost. This guide has a lot of unnecessary killing in it but he wasn't going for the least amount of kills either so I get it. The "Escape" ability is nearly useless. I've used it quite a bit in my run and it nearly never helped me. The skill will basically teleport you a small distance away. So here is why it's so useless: it takes a a little time to cast, the distance it can teleport you is very short, but most importantly it can not teleport you through a wall of enemies. So if anything or anyone blocks your way you can't get there. Best to just avoid this skill all together. In the end I didn't have much fun doing this achievement when it came to combat, it mostly just showed me how broken and unbalanced this game is. I basically learned how to abuse and take advantage of the system. One of the worst achievements I've ever done and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The sneaking parts were kind of fun but combat is just completely broken. This achievement should have never existed. But I want to thank you for this guide because it did help me a lot and I'm not sure I could have done it without this. Also a big shout-out to you for figuring this out. But me, I'm just glad it's over.
i know this is an older video but, thank you! this is awesome to watch. Im on my first playthrough of the game and am loving it, i plan on replaying it mulitple times and going for 100% achievements. This is absolutely incredible. The amount of time and dedication it must have taken to do this astounds me. Kudos to you! For those of you trying to run this in 2021-2022, some sections, like Cliaban Rilag, are impossible to stealth in the most recent patches (at least at the level in the video). Also note that Instill Doubt cast by Gwyn's Band of Union breaks the Shadowing Beyond stealth, making certain parts of this run impossible if you have it on. I recommend only equipping Gwyn's when ur going in combat.
Finally beat it using this guide. Incredible work man! I got 9 achievements at once. Almost no better feeling than that ;). Thanks again so much, amazing guide and I really do appreciate all the work you put in to figure every step out.
I just got the achievement thanks to your playthrough. You did an amazing job with the character build and the combat strategies. Thanks for sharing it!
I made a main run without Trial Of Iron, so I could get a savegame before each hard fights. Then I train hardest parts a few times (around 40 tries for the hardest one) until I mastered their timing. Then I ran the Trial of Iron run itself. I succeed on first try, however before the hardest fights, I saved the game, went back to my non Trial of Iron one to warm up, then went back the Trial of Iron one :P
Being one of those players that is 'not great at hiding, but great at killing everyone once I'm found', this video was amazing to watch. Clearly you have perfect knowledge of where to find things, but the whole experience of watching you stealth through crowds of monsters without having to fight was jaw dropping for me. Wow. I will now go try this as a solo rogue player - I do not expect to beat the game solo, but I want to try playing solo, just for the suspense!
I thought the exact same. I'm only 40 minutes in and I had no idea how close you could get to things stealthed until this. With him bobbing and weaving I find myself shaking my head in disbelief sometimes.
Just did it, thank you for this video. Stealth section are insane and made me realise that devs really wanted you to go through unskippable fights if they aren't directly connected to quests, makes me wonder why they made stealth at all. Loved how you, despite their mentioned intent, abused the hell out of it and Shadowing Beyond. I was especially disappointed when you made it to vithracks level in Endless Paths and stealthed to their leader and he still managed to pull nonexistent memories from your mind of you killing their patrols :) Oh, also they've done something in Stalwart mines on the bridge with Ice Troll and Xaurips, they spot you here 100% with how much stealth you had at that moment, and I think they've reduced Concelhaut and his bros aggro AOE.
No problem, hope you liked it ;). Yeah this run is pretty old, that's very likely some of the stealth moves do not work anymore :-/ but anything can be adjusted a way or another I guess.
For some reason, every time I'm sick and lying in bed for a week I come back to this video to marvel at the thought out build and skill. Normally I don't have the time to watch a 9h video but right now I wouldn't know anything better to do to be honest. :)
Your playstyle kills so much fun. I don't understand what's so interesting about avoiding the combat, and running away from enemies like a coward until you become op lol.
Thank you so much man, I followed this guide as a chanter and just got the ultimate achievement! This was one of the hardest things I have ever done in gaming, probably would of been easier if I had actually played past act 2 before starting the ultimate run lol
Thirty minutes in and I've already learned tons of cool tricks I'd never have thought of. Thanks! May I ask what you think of the escape ability, God of Rogues? And does INT affect figurine duration?
Don't really know much about Escape. Never tried it as it is too defensive for my playstyle :-). INT does not affect figurine duration, at least not since it has been nerfed. By the way, a good learn how some mechanics actually works / influences things, is to use to console cheats, fast and efficient. Not to be used in your regular gameplay, allright :)
The hardest part was to figure out a way to fight it face to face without the adds. I admit that locking down and killing a beast like the Adra Dragon in less than 12 seconds makes you feel quite strong :-)
just wanna say this is bad ass. im currently following this and am midway through act 1, although i'm doing it on non-ironman as a test run, which i am glad of because i have made many stealth mistakes. maybe i will be man enough for ironman after i get through this one! thanks a ton dude.
Ironman runs can be pretty frustrating :-) what I advice you to do if you want to try it out, is to ensure that in your current run (not Ironman) you make regular saves where you feel being the weaker which will allow you to warm up before doing the same parts on the Ironman run. Whatever you decide to do, just have fun doing it !
Thank you very much! I followed your guide like for 90% (got different background, did more side quests) and got the achievement just fine! Great Guide!
That's a long video so you better be very motivated to watch it :-). Also I guess people who enjoys it gotta know how the game works otherwise this does not make much sense !
Thank you for this video. I just finished my ultimate run with the help of this guide by using Wizard instead of Rogue. Although i did try/practice using Rogue first without trial of iron. Honestly felt that some encounters are so much easier with wizard since you can blow them up. The only hard fights for wizard are Alpine Dragon and the last bounty (deadfire pirates). Thanks Again!
Great, congratulations ;-). I guess some parts may be easier or harder with some other classes because mechanics can quite different, but playing a rogue is a lot of fun anyway !
@@wodjee4001 yeah i had some tough encounters early cause i can't just skip them with invis but all the bounties are more straight forward because at that point i was already max level and killing them is pretty ez. At the white forge fight, it was over in less than 20 seconds i think lol. Didnt need to pull the forge guardians to outside mobs, just kill them all. Cheers man, im playing PoE 2 right now and its honestly really annoying with how much change in the game mechanics, especially spells
That's a great run! I am doing my own, and I just have llengrath and alpine dragon fights left. I did respec a couple more for the mines quest boss fight (giant spore) to have massive con and fortitude and another time to have resolve of 17 to convince tribal leader that I did not poison him and also to get pale elves to leave without fighting in noonfrost quest. Having trouble with alpine dragon and llengrath though.
Epic. Gamer. Skills. Thanks for this Wodjee. Currently following this video as a chanter, as closely as I can to your rogue playthrough. A bit rough having one less stealth to be honest, and I'm worried about upcoming stealth sequences in Ciliban Rilag* especially not having access to shadowing beyond. Either way I'm having a blast so far. You're awesome.
Wow so many strats I'm gonna borrow from you for my own ultimate run thx a lot for this. I'm not gonna be rogue but a cheesy chanter, I'm not as confident as you in the Llengrath fight with a rogue. :D
6:42:38 if you have trouble with Ulmar, these guys can be taken out 1 or 2 at a time by running and and grabbing aggro and just run a little further than Wodjee does. Usually only 1 or two come at a time. Easy enough if you use your mind control if you get priestess and the large Paladins
I only can dream about this kind of achievements. I probably die even in storyline mode with 99 campfire thingies. still awesome to see that it can be done...
For Ysly at 6:19:13 if you walk around the room and come from the bottom left and remove stealth to get aggro on the same guy you did, you will only have Ysly and the one sorcerer to deal with after retreating to the same place you did. I did it like that 2/2 but no guarantee it always goes that way.
Yeah was a close call :-) and not the only one by the way. Two crits in a row, but Silver Tide to back it up. That's why I tend to encourage people picking up Moon godlike for this kind of runs !
Can I really play as a PC rogue with only 3 con? i just started with those stats and man a beast literally just yelled at me and I lost half my endurance
I added a few commentary with text inside the video. My mic is kinda crap and honestly I invested already too much time in this run. Maybe I will ask Santa for a new mic right on time for Deadfire !
If you miss the Boots of Stealts from Raedric's keep, you can buy them from Bricanta Domenel after you do an easy quest. :) I started my journey at day 19. :(
Ye it is a possibility, however it helps you to have the Boots of Stealth before being able to access to Bricanta goods. I could not find out why new games sometimes start at day 18 or 19 (seems very random to me...)
Things may be changed with patches but I did not see something lately about Stealth Mechanic. If you have an issue with a specific part of the video, give me the timestamp and I'll check it.
So I just checked. At this point of the game I've got 12 in stealth (base 9 + 1 resting bonus + 2 boots of stealth). With 12 stealth it works well, however I tested with 11 stealth and I got detected. Hope this helps.
I do not remember if higher might is required at some point during the game for a quest dialogue or sthing. That could be the only downside I could see, otherwise that would be fine.
Wow man, thats insane. You melt my brain ;D haha You make Concelhaut look like an apprentice with one hand xD May I ask how many hours you've spent on PoE?
Well you can get a very detailed answer by watching the run :) (yeah I know it's a pretty long video!). Globally I set my stealth as high as possible until the Alpine and Llengrath fights (for which I respec) to be able to bypass encounters as much as possible. Concerning mechanicsI put only the minimum needed for the few traps / chest I need to unlock and for lore I think there is a only a few fights which are safer with the use of higher level scrolls.
Congratulations! Great guide and gameplay. What caught my attention was the fast time between loads between one area and another. Did you edit or is it some mod/fix? Here the loads take considerably longer.
Thanks ;-) Yes it was shortened by editing the video so it's less annoying to watch. Sorry I do not have any solution for faster in-game loading screens :-/
@@wodjee4001 Hello. I researched some mods and found that autosave is responsible for this slowdown. Each screen change or transition is made a save. Using IEMOD I can disable autosave and improve this time. Here's a tip if one day you play again 🙂😉
And I am close to 200 hours on my regular potd with full party and still not done xD but somehow I have the feeling that you put way more time into this just to research all the moves 😏
Holy crap man you certainly know your stuff! Makes me want to roll a rogue and do the exact same thing. I had to review the Radric part a couple times because you are way too fast and I don't want to miss any of that great early loot of course :P This calendar thing is dumb though...Like, really dumb :/
Yeah this calendar loot stuff is quite bad and I guess some ppl broke their head on it several times :P But it's only for the first 30 minutes of the run, so thats bearable :-). Good luck for your run !
That is an absolutely impressive run ! PoTD + expert mode with a full party is already quite a challenge, this is... well, ultimate. :) May I ask why you pick Crippling Strike as your first skill and not Blinding Strike ? Both have the same duration, target deflection with equal accuracy, enable Sneak Attack and give +25% damage. So it all depends on the detrimental effect (Hobbled vs. Blinded). That's a trade between -4 Perception / -25 Accuracy / -20 Deflection (Blinded) and -2 Dexterity / -1 Move speed (Hobbled). I can't see why you consider Hobbled more useful.
Thanks :) Well to answer your question, I'm not so sure because this is pretty long ago, but I would say what ever you should first between those two, does not really matter.
Great guide, I learned so much about the game mechanics by watching you play. I wonder, would you consider using the newly added items in the deadfire pack? like getting the soulbound belt or the sabre early on?
I got the ultimate achievement following your guide! It is a great guide, I didn't know the fights would be easier solo than with a full party I ran before. Great strategies! Thanks a lot!
Gratz ! Yeah some of the strategies allow to fight encounters one by one which could not be achieved if you had more party members. It actually helps to be alone in the "party" sometimes :-)
I don't remember so well, but there are two fights against Raedric and his minions, the first one is in the castle in the basemenet and the second one (harder) is on the roof of the castle, right ? Which one are you talking about ?
hey Wodjee, thanks for that awesome Video :) You inspired me for my own Ultimator try. What do you think about the sanguin plate ? Its risky but the armor have a nice badass look and a nice effect :D Have you any tips? im starting act III today
Hey Philipp, Thanks for the feedback and good luck for your run !I really like the Sanguine plate and would have taken it for my run if I could, but if I do not mistaken, in order to obtain it you must do a chain of quests which requires Pallegina to be in your party (correct me if I'm wrong...) which cannot happen as you are not supposed to take any companions in your party after Cilant Lîs if you want to fulfil "The Ultimate" achievement. If I could give you one advice, I would tell you not to take too much risk during your run because Trial of Iron mode is very painful when you die ;-)
You only need to talk with Pellegina. She says the ambassador have a quest, we can go together. Say No and go alone to the ambassador :). Im ended yesterday my run. But i dont get the Ultimator :( maybe i forget a little thing (killed 3 dragons, all bountys and 2 mages and get the Solo Archivment). But yes my first i give a God a wrong anwswer and that bastard kill me xD
Yes you have not feedback in game about the achievement follow-up during the run so it's hard to know if you missed something or not...Good to know for the Sanguine plate, I agree it really has a badass look :D
Good job ! Very interesting, even though i'm missing so much of it. Haven't played enough yet. Do you use the Gaun ring at some point? Why keeping it when Heodan gives so much for it? Is it.... good?
You are talking about Gaun's Pledge ? I think it's an item you only get from pre-ordering the game, so I did not use because I thought some people may not have it
You've done a great service to us all by making this video. I'm currently using it to get my own achievement, but I have a problem: I can't sneak past a big ooze at 30:30, it notices me every goddamn time. My sneak level is same as yours. Have you got any idea on how to solve this?
Hey. I released the full run to help other ppl getting their achievement, so I'm glad to hear that's the case :-) Concerning your issue at 30:30, you have a total of 8 in stealth right ? (base 6 + 2 from boots of stealth). If that's the case and you are still having an issue, you should try the following : when you come by the first ooze, do not go straight for the other 2 and instead go up to the north west stairs to have your detection level going down to zero. Then go back in and pass between the 2 oozes. It is easier this way, just a bit longer ! Let me know if it worked.
Oh God, I forgot to put the boots on. I broke my brain trying to find out what's the problem, and now I feel so dumb :D Anyway, thanks for help. You are the best!
I've played through pillars but I still don't understand, how are you using so many spells? Are they all scrolls and consumables? Or am I missing something ? Awesome run though, just started my rogue playthrough and it looks like they can do a lot of damage! :)
Well what you consider as spells, are not really spells. As you mentionned, there are lot of different wasy to use "abilities" that look like spells effects. You can get them from items, scrolls and consumables. You will truly see rogue damage when you'll pick up deathblows :-)
First of all, thank you for this pretty cool run!!!, I'm amazed by the incredible work you've done. I tried this without the Trial of Iron and everything went fine until 35:45, I have not reached level 4, I'm missing about 200 experience points and I do not know how to solve it, any suggestions?, maybe I could solve any side quest... Thanks again!!!
Good to hear you could solve it. I was about to answer you that this is important to pay attention to the details. As I wanted to do the run as short as possible, I took only the experience and the loot I needed. However if you miss something during the run, you may be blocked later on.
Thank you for your helpful tips. I killed Marshal Wenfeld and I'm on my way to Heritage Hill at 01:30:30, no problem and following your steps my friend :-) I will keep you informed of my progress :D Until now the greatest difficulty has been Maerwald but the hardest is yet to come :/
Maerwald is not an easy one because you have very limited abilities. Don't hesistate to ask for help, I got game saves at different steps of the run so I can easily help you out if needed ! Good luck.
Oh man!!!, I'm stuck with Nalrend bounty (5:23:35), I can not get him to keep his starting position... when I use Shadowing to go back he goes with his friends group :( I think I'm going to give up this bounty... In general in your run you are always very lucky ... I always have to make many attempts despite everything I do the same as you... any idea?. Thanks.
Hey. Flanked is a debuff that an enemy will get if there are at least two character acttacking it in melee range and one of them at least 90° away from the other character. Sneak attack is a rogue ability which will add 50% on your damage if the enemy has at least one of the following debuffs : Blinded, Flanked, Hobbled, Paralyzed, Petrified, Prone, Stuck, Stunned, or Weakened. So in a solo run, the only way to get this debuff is to use pet summons. In my run I usually always have one of these debuff active so flanked is not really useful. Rogues have several talents to boost their damage, but sneak attack is the one you get by default from the begining. Hope this helps.
Wodjee According to Wiki, It appears that the sneak attack also works as long as any target is struck within two seconds of combat starting. I don’t know if that’s true, but I thought I’d share what I found. pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Sneak_Attack
Amazing fun. I figure you have immense experience with the game. What is the optimal powergaming party for a PoTD run? Is it any different for a Triple Crown run?
Well yeah, I learnt a lot about game mechanism, however I'm not so good at full party setup because most of my playthrough were with 1, 2 or 3 characters maximum :-). I think I can't even tell you for sure what is the maximum of party member you can have ! Is it 5 or 6 ? :)
Going through this and I am stumped at 1:52:35. I have 11 Stealth and the green ooze notices me every time. Also, the mushroom people find me every time. Should I have 12 Stealth? You didn't or couldn't take Stealth at the level up at the dyrwood inn. Little stumped on this one.
At this point of the game you must have 12 stealth : Base 9 + Boots of Stealth 2 + Stealth Rest in Caed Nua 2 = 12. If you go with 11 Stealth you will be detected. You are not able to pick up +1 stealth at lvl 7 (at lvl 6 yes) but I guess you are missing the +2 Stealth Rest bonus from Caed Nua then.
I managed to get through with 11 stealth but I had to rest twice inside to get back the shadowing beyond skill. It was actually strange that this works, but because of the second chance ability, if you die due to an improper shadowing beyond, you come back still not engaged and technically out of the ability, allowing you to access a container or change locations. Interesting little bug that might be useful.
Hi Wodjee - quick question. I am trying the run and am getting caught on the first stealth check in Raedric Castle, as if my character doesn't move fast enough. Do Orlans somehow move slightly faster than other races, or was the selection purely aesthetic? Also, would you recommend running parallel instances/saves of the game (in and out of PotD) to practice?
Hello James. Could you give me the video timestamp where you fail this stealth check ? As far as I know there is no difference in running speed depending on race choice. I clearly recommend to run an instance with the following settings : Expert, PoTD, but without Trial of Iron This will allow you to save frequently and train some steps, fights you could not do at once. If/when you decide to run a Trial of Iron game to get the achievement, it is very useful to be able to load your instance save and train the fights again before going live on your Trial of Iron game.
Your welcome. Congrats on TCS speedrun :-). I picked-up dissident because of the +1 lore and +1 stealth. Lore because I use some scrolls at specific parts in the run and stealth because there are some sneaky moves which require a minimum level of stealth.
no way I'll be able to watch this all at once but that's really fucking impressive dude

Thank you. I'm not looking for more subscribers, but I hope it entertained or helped some fans of Pillars of Eternity out there !
How many practice runs did you have to go through to beat this?
I was especially disappointed when you made it to vithracks level in Endless Paths and stealthed to their leader and he still managed to pull nonexistent memories from your mind of you killing their patrols :)
Oh, also they've done something in Stalwart mines on the bridge with Ice Troll and Xaurips, they spot you here 100% with how much stealth you had at that moment, and I think they've reduced Concelhaut and his bros aggro AOE.
No problem, hope you liked it ;). Yeah this run is pretty old, that's very likely some of the stealth moves do not work anymore :-/ but anything can be adjusted a way or another I guess.
I've spotted a mistake!
At 5:14:05 he rested and after that he forgot to pick up the camping supplies!
Besides that I'm really impressed! ;)
Nice job ! :-)
Insane skills, perfect gameplay, great vid description. Thanks a lot.
Thanks. Glad you like it ;-)
Thirty minutes in and I've already learned tons of cool tricks I'd never have thought of.
What you did to that Adra Dragon. Holy shit! I have a full party and I'm struggling. You're a beast, my friend!
Excellent ! Glad you got it and hope you had a lot of fun :D
OMG, I have no intention to complete this achievement, but I still cannot stop watching the video! Really good job, you are insane (in a good way) :D
Just in time !!, I finally got the achievement before the release date of Deadfire. Thx my friend!!!
Great, luckilythe release was postponed then ! Congratulations.
Thaos must be really mad at what you did to him here. :) Great video, awesome gameplay, love this game, will play it again as a roghe. Thanks a lot!
Rogue gameplay is fun yeah ;)
Completed my Ultimate run tonigh using your guide. Thanks!
Very well done ! Congratulations :-)
Thanks Ryan. Don't worry, you will find your own way, this is just to inspire you ;)
Wow so many strats I'm gonna borrow from you for my own ultimate run thx a lot for this.
I'm not gonna be rogue but a cheesy chanter, I'm not as confident as you in the Llengrath fight with a rogue. :D
No problem. That was the purpose of releasing the full run, so people can get inspired along the way :-)
6:42:38 if you have trouble with Ulmar, these guys can be taken out 1 or 2 at a time by running and and grabbing aggro and just run a little further than Wodjee does. Usually only 1 or two come at a time. Easy enough if you use your mind control if you get priestess and the large Paladins
I only can dream about this kind of achievements. I probably die even in storyline mode with 99 campfire thingies.
still awesome to see that it can be done...
This video is totally worth spending 10 hrs of my life on. Thank you sir!
I'm happy to see you enjoying it. I guess if you love the game, you'll like the video :-) and when we love, we don't count !
much more impressive than my llengrath solo run of just nuking the ranged dragon then running in circles for 30mins with persistence
I'd be too afraid to play this, all those stealth moments of almost getting caught, my heart couldn't take it.
Thank you, I followed this to the point watched all of it and got it myself now :)
He did 3 hours of my gameplay in 13 minutes
If you skip every dialog, that reduce the time for the entire game so around the half.
This, is a masterpiece. Thank you
Just started this game yesterday, this video hurts my head.
Amazing video, looking forward to some PoE2 runs!
Congrats on finishing this!!
Looking for this, I'd like to try it later! Thanks!
at 4 hours and 58 minutes your run was almost done son.
Yeah was a close call :-) and not the only one by the way. Two crits in a row, but Silver Tide to back it up. That's why I tend to encourage people picking up Moon godlike for this kind of runs !
Think you might ever do some class guides for this? It's been a long time since you posted, but you're the only PoE1 channel I've been able to find.
Hey, sorry but I do not think I will post anything new on PoE1. Now waiting for Baldur's gate 3 so maybe some posts on that game :-).
Surpriseed you didnt use the Blunderbus more! It litterlay one shots Mobs on the hardest setting and you can stun lock bosses etc.
Can I really play as a PC rogue with only 3 con? i just started with those stats and man a beast literally just yelled at me and I lost half my endurance
Pretty good. Should have known that with the gloves of rot. Had some troubles with my solo chanter until level 9.
Impressive run, good work
Great job! Thanks for sharing! Any plans for a version with commentary?
I added a few commentary with text inside the video. My mic is kinda crap and honestly I invested already too much time in this run. Maybe I will ask Santa for a new mic right on time for Deadfire !
If you miss the Boots of Stealts from Raedric's keep, you can buy them from Bricanta Domenel after you do an easy quest. :)
I started my journey at day 19. :(
Ye it is a possibility, however it helps you to have the Boots of Stealth before being able to access to Bricanta goods. I could not find out why new games sometimes start at day 18 or 19 (seems very random to me...)
did they change the way Stealth works? I can't do the Skaen Temple with Stealth 11 :(
Things may be changed with patches but I did not see something lately about Stealth Mechanic. If you have an issue with a specific part of the video, give me the timestamp and I'll check it.
1:42:11 They detect me before I get half way to grab the key... forced to use Shadowing Beyond :)
So I just checked. At this point of the game I've got 12 in stealth (base 9 + 1 resting bonus + 2 boots of stealth). With 12 stealth it works well, however I tested with 11 stealth and I got detected. Hope this helps.
Thanks for showing us and thanks for posting build.
Np, hope you enjoy it ;)
1:10 Idk why but how quickly you clicked that has me dyin
Yeah could understand why it made you laugh hard :) That makes me think of that funny video th-cam.com/video/lbJ51AJuR7E/w-d-xo.html
Impressive run!
Impressive, congrats
Just amazing... Here have a virtual cookie :D
Thank you ;-)
Nice run :) THX for sharing.
I respect you alot man
also i'd like to ask would it make much of a difference if I take 19 dex and 15 might?
Yeah it's even funnier to do it with a midget :D
I do not remember if higher might is required at some point during the game for a quest dialogue or sthing. That could be the only downside I could see, otherwise that would be fine.
Wow man, thats insane. You melt my brain ;D haha You make Concelhaut look like an apprentice with one hand xD
May I ask how many hours you've spent on PoE?
Thanks xD. According to GOG.com, 404 hours of gameplay.
Congrats! I thought no one could achieve this :)
My questions: how many points you put in stealth? And how did you manage mechanics and lore skill?
Well you can get a very detailed answer by watching the run :) (yeah I know it's a pretty long video!).
Globally I set my stealth as high as possible until the Alpine and Llengrath fights (for which I respec) to be able to bypass encounters as much as possible. Concerning mechanicsI put only the minimum needed for the few traps / chest I need to unlock and for lore I think there is a only a few fights which are safer with the use of higher level scrolls.
The most incredible thing in this run is the loading speed.
That would be if it was not video edited :)
Oh yeah, you can't imagine how many tries it required to do all those moves so smoothly :D
I just started to play this game, made a paladin character with gods knows what stats and this video hurts my mind...
Nice video and nice build. I wonder though : why chosing dissident over drifter or hunter as background ?
If I remember well, I need 2 Lore because I'm using some scrolls at the beginning of the run.
Wow, only wow. Without words
Im so glad u did this :D
I'm so glad that makes you glad ;)
Holy crap man you certainly know your stuff! Makes me want to roll a rogue and do the exact same thing. I had to review the Radric part a couple times because you are way too fast and I don't want to miss any of that great early loot of course :P This calendar thing is dumb though...Like, really dumb :/
Yeah this calendar loot stuff is quite bad and I guess some ppl broke their head on it several times :P But it's only for the first 30 minutes of the run, so thats bearable :-). Good luck for your run !
I got Rymrgand's from the tavern in Gilded Vale and I could do most of the ghosts in the Temple of Eothas easy right from the start
but but but but !!!??? YOU'RE OP !!!!????
That is an absolutely impressive run ! PoTD + expert mode with a full party is already quite a challenge, this is... well, ultimate. :)
May I ask why you pick Crippling Strike as your first skill and not Blinding Strike ?
Haven't played lately. I don't know those items :-) Waiting for PoE II to be out soon !
Wodjee ikr??? I'm so excited for Deadfire!!
Oh yeah ;-)
I got the ultimate achievement following your guide! It is a great guide, I didn't know the fights would be easier solo than with a full party I ran before. Great strategies! Thanks a lot!
Gratz ! Yeah some of the strategies allow to fight encounters one by one which could not be achieved if you had more party members. It actually helps to be alone in the "party" sometimes :-)
wtf he completed it on the hardest settings in the freaking game, I cant even do this in normals... What a god
Solo puedo decir, eres muy bueno, buen video!
Muchas gracias!
PLEASE can you do a similar solo run video for black geyser ?? :D
Superb walkthough!
Btw, is this build able to solo Raedric and his minions?
Which tactics would you use? Thanks for reading!
I don't remember so well, but there are two fights against Raedric and his minions, the first one is in the castle in the basemenet and the second one (harder) is on the roof of the castle, right ? Which one are you talking about ?
hey Wodjee,
thanks for that awesome Video :)
You inspired me for my own Ultimator try. What do you think about the sanguin plate ? Its risky but the armor have a nice badass look and a nice effect :D
Have you any tips? im starting act III today
She says the
ambassador have a quest, we can go together.
I think it's an item you only get from pre-ordering the game, so I did not use because I thought some people may not have it
Yes, the pre-ordering thing. Ok. Didn't think the guide aspect was that important. Thank you.
I wonder if the devs knew this was possible when they made the achievement. I still haven't beaten the game on Normal with a full party :(
Yeah that would be interesting to know if devs ran some tests or not at all before releasing this achievement :-)
Respect!
VERY well played.
Good grief that poor sky dragon...
Did you do this on a single sitting??? Insane achievement.
You've done a great service to us all by making this video. I'm currently using it to get my own achievement, but I have a problem: I can't sneak past a big ooze at 30:30, it notices me every goddamn time. My sneak level is same as yours. Have you got any idea on how to solve this?
Hey. I released the full run to help other ppl getting their achievement, so I'm glad to hear that's the case :-)
Concerning your issue at 30:30, you have a total of 8 in stealth right ? (base 6 + 2 from boots of stealth).
If that's the case and you are still having an issue, you should try the following : when you come by the first ooze, do not go straight for the other 2 and instead go up to the north west stairs to have your detection level going down to zero. Then go back in and pass between the 2 oozes. It is easier this way, just a bit longer ! Let me know if it worked.
Oh God, I forgot to put the boots on. I broke my brain trying to find out what's the problem, and now I feel so dumb :D Anyway, thanks for help. You are the best!
just awesome!
Solved !!!, I forgot to disarm all traps in Ciant Lis ... I go ahead !!!
Good to hear you could solve it. I was about to answer you that this is important to pay attention to the details. As I wanted to do the run as short as possible, I took only the experience and the loot I needed. However if you miss something during the run, you may be blocked later on.
Thank you for your helpful tips. I killed Marshal Wenfeld and I'm on my way to Heritage Hill at 01:30:30, no problem and following your steps my friend :-) I will keep you informed of my progress :D
Until now the greatest difficulty has been Maerwald but the hardest is yet to come :/
Maerwald is not an easy one because you have very limited abilities.
I always have to make many attempts despite everything I do the same as you... any idea?. Thanks.
When you reached Stalwart you put the Standard mode? So no scale?
Great guide! Does a rogue only need to be flanking to do extra damage or does she have to be directly behind target?
Wodjee Good info to know. Thanks!
Wodjee According to Wiki, It appears that the sneak attack also works as long as any target is struck within two seconds of combat starting. I don’t know if that’s true, but I thought I’d share what I found. pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Sneak_Attack
Yeah that's right.
lol 6. Thanks anyway bro.
Why did your intellect start at 12? Mine starts at 11
EDIT: Oh you went back to beginning after having already selected your cultural bonus
I clearly recommend to run an instance with the following settings : Expert, PoTD, but without Trial of Iron
This will allow you to save frequently and train some steps, fights you could not do at once. If/when you decide to run a Trial of Iron game to get the achievement, it is very useful to be able to load your instance save and train the fights again before going live on your Trial of Iron game.
Wodjee delivers !
Hope you'll enjoy it, because there is a lot of "tough times" behind it :-)
Thank you for your big work. Today ive ended tcs speedrun. I have only one question. Why dissident?
Your welcome. Congrats on TCS speedrun :-).
I picked-up dissident because of the +1 lore and +1 stealth. Lore because I use some scrolls at specific parts in the run and stealth because there are some sneaky moves which require a minimum level of stealth.
Amazing
Frigging moon godlike
