Yes. You are correct. Some pros and cons. I like leaning over and looking down also. However, the glass is not solid, so you still get a breeze, especially because you are in the front. The balcony is also a lot larger which was the big pro. But the have spa balcony on the side and in the front. So you do have the option. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!!

I just got off of it. Went on Spring Break as well. Probably going to be my first and last time sailing on Spring Break. TOO many teenagers roaming around 1:00AM-3:00 AM, causing chaotic and unnecessary behavior. Teens having sex on deck 16 at 2:00 AM, teens running around up and down the walkway knocking on doors.. That was the #1 complaints about the ship. Everything else seemed fine.
Great video Tony. I completely agree with con #1 and #2. The rooms are definitely smaller. I appreciate the larger glass enclosed shower. The buffet was definitely weird. Some days only one side was open...just odd. Overall, I loved the experience on Mardi Gras and would sail again.
Nothing. No noise at all. The good news is we are independent. So not tied to any travel agent or cruise line like some of the TH-cam cruising channels. So we would tell you if we did. That part was good. Mardi Gras is a nice ship. They did a nice job on it. I guess nose was an issue with the back of the ship with the bolt coaster. But now the coaster shuts down early so no one seems to complain anymore.

I agree with you that, generally, the Chef's Table experience on any cruise-ship is a great choice, even if a person does not do any other specialty dining. Have you found that, with Mardi Gras, the menu was different from Chef's Table menus on other Carnival ships? I read somewhere that it seems to be a standard menu across all ships in each cruise-line's fleet. Even so, my next query would be: how often are the menus rotated or changed?
Thanks for sharing! Yes the menu has been different. Honestly not sure how often it changes, but Tommy said he has done about 4 of them over the past 10 years and they were always different. Hi James, we are working on it. Because we try to make the videos great, the edit time is so long and we have a backlog of items. Most of my videos take 40 hours of editing to get this quality (I hope it pays off someday). But it will be out in the next few weeks! Have a couple others first! But thanks for watching!! I was on this ship on the 14 th floor and our bathroom was the same as yours and the size of our room was the same we just asked for a rope and we got them yes the food was very good
Just got back from our cruise on the Mardi Gras last week. We were in a spa balcony on 17 too but with a normal sized balcony...yours looked awesome! We also loved the Italian restaurant and the pistachio pasta...ate there 3 times...phenomenal for a complimentary restaurant! Great video thanks!

Thanks!! and Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors! The balcony was great. We had one windy day, but the glass blocks the wind pretty good. The other days were great. You have plenty of room to hang out and it was private. You cant see down on our balcony like you can in the back of the ship. You will have a great time. We were impressed with Mardi Gras. Request an ice bucket (for drinks) for your room and try room service on the deck before you do shore excursions. Also, take advantage of the private elevator! we will be doing a spa room video also.

Great question. Both are amazing ships. Both have features and benefits the other ship doesn’t have (for example water show vs Roller coaster). Overall we would highly recommend both. But if we could only pick one, we would go with Mardi Gras as it is a brand new ship, awesome design, and lots of activities. I’m trying to find info on this but coming up short. I know the spa has hours of operation, but if you are in one of the spa rooms, could you walk down to the thermal suite after hours?
We think is was open till 10. But you should double check. It was nice. Steam room was perfect. We found the sauna to be a little light on heat. Heated loungers are always great. The 100 shares of Carnival for 50-100-250 on board credit is per person or per cabin ? For example , I have 100 shares and my wife has 100 shares, we travel in the same cabin for 7 days cruise so how much we got for each of us ?

My BIGGEST complaint about Carnival is the number of FREE choices at dinner time and I HATE the buffet (NASTY CATTLE LINE). I do LOVE the Steakhouse but can not allow myself to eat there every night because I did pay for the "free" options.

Been on the celebration they look the same loved it only thing i didnt like is that the lido deck the pool takes up all the space so deck partys would be so crammed on the celebration i didnt see to much of the deck parties like they have on the horizion loved the horizon wish they had all the food on the marti gras and celebration and free pig and anchor and italian restaurant free to they need to change that prices be the same but the food is not so good in the buffet think they need to step up the game in the buffet area to seemed like they had the same stuff everyday i know it didnt use to be like this everyday was different some stuff was everyday but come on carnival lets get this food in the buffet upgraded needs to be good food and different buffet station dofferent types of food like you used to be

This is one ship with lots of restaurants and lots of restrooms the food is good the Internet was ok the internment was ok I might go back on this ship not sure about that had more fun on smaller carnival ships like the carnival pride is very nice .carnival Mardi Gras is to big and you get lost a lot ,
You say you still use terms like "Floor" in place of decks. Ships have deck, passage, cabin forward, aft port or starboard in stead of floor' hall, room, front, back, left or right. learn your terms before you brag about doing something for "thirty years". If you were ever in the military you would have been in the Air Force, only the use the terms you use. My wife and I sailed on the Mardi Gras back on April 22 2023 and I was very impressed with her and only had three negative thoughts, number 1 (the cabins were small, number 2 (the elevators were way to small slowing down passengers) and number 2 ( the Lido deck was small), these three things are comparisons to smaller ships like the dream. The upside is that the entertainment was awesome (Like Vegas), dinning was great, really liked Chi Bangs, Guys Burger joint and Pigs and Anchor and the Seafood Shack. Made good friends on the ship and went Ziplining in Amber Cove. Toured Grand Turk on golf carts and went to the lighthouse and had fried conk at Barbies, all in all it was a 9 out of 10 and would recommend to anyone and warn them about the cabins size and elevators.
Thanks for the feedback. Tommy’s father was in the Navy. He already took a beating from him. In any case all of our new cruise videos have the correct deck terminology. In any case, please keep in mind these videos take weeks to edit and the filming takes several days, so one wrong word, is not to bad on a video this long. For example, in our 15 second comment, you used the “number 2” twice in your comment vs “number 3” after you highlight you three negative thoughts. But no worries. We understand what you are saying. So no need to make you feel like you don’t know how to write.
But the outside steps on this ship some of them were broken a lot of things were broken this ship it did not look new .like I said before the food is very good but the comedy was not good I would not wish to be on this ship if it was a full capacity we were on this ship Jan 2022 we had more fun on the small carnival ships,this ship is too Loud because of the roller coaster.

That part was good. Mardi Gras is a nice ship. They did a nice job on it. I guess nose was an issue with the back of the ship with the bolt coaster. But now the coaster shuts down early so no one seems to complain anymore.

I agree with you that, generally, the Chef's Table experience on any cruise-ship is a great choice, even if a person does not do any other specialty dining. Have you found that, with Mardi Gras, the menu was different from Chef's Table menus on other Carnival ships? I read somewhere that it seems to be a standard menu across all ships in each cruise-line's fleet. Even so, my next query would be: how often are the menus rotated or changed?

Hi James, we are working on it. Because we try to make the videos great, the edit time is so long and we have a backlog of items. Most of my videos take 40 hours of editing to get this quality (I hope it pays off someday). But it will be out in the next few weeks! Have a couple others first! But thanks for watching!! I was on this ship on the 14 th floor and our bathroom was the same as yours and the size of our room was the same we just asked for a rope and we got them yes the food was very good
Yes, it is a great ship. I am sure the room is similar. You get the thermal spa for free for the week in the spa room and a spa gift.
Just got back from our cruise on the Mardi Gras last week. We were in a spa balcony on 17 too but with a normal sized balcony...yours looked awesome! We also loved the Italian restaurant and the pistachio pasta...ate there 3 times...phenomenal for a complimentary restaurant! Great video thanks!

Thanks!! and Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors! The balcony was great. We had one windy day, but the glass blocks the wind pretty good. The other days were great. You have plenty of room to hang out and it was private. You cant see down on our balcony like you can in the back of the ship. You will have a great time. We were impressed with Mardi Gras. Request an ice bucket (for drinks) for your room and try room service on the deck before you do shore excursions. Also, take advantage of the private elevator! we will be doing a spa room video also.

Hey guys - How did the Mardi Gras compare to the Allure? If you could only do one of them again and I was buying, which would you pick?
Great question. Both are amazing ships. Both have features and benefits the other ship doesn’t have (for example water show vs Roller coaster). Overall we would highly recommend both. But if we could only pick one, we would go with Mardi Gras as it is a brand new ship, awesome design, and lots of activities. I’m trying to find info on this but coming up short. I know the spa has hours of operation, but if you are in one of the spa rooms, could you walk down to the thermal suite after hours?
We think is was open till 10. But you should double check. It was nice. Steam room was perfect. We found the sauna to be a little light on heat. Heated loungers are always great. The 100 shares of Carnival for 50-100-250 on board credit is per person or per cabin ? For example , I have 100 shares and my wife has 100 shares, we travel in the same cabin for 7 days cruise so how much we got for each of us ?

They are sister ships! Both great! But the Mardi Gras will always be special as it was named after the first Carnival Ship!
My BIGGEST complaint about Carnival is the number of FREE choices at dinner time and I HATE the buffet (NASTY CATTLE LINE). I do LOVE the Steakhouse but can not allow myself to eat there every night because I did pay for the "free" options.

Been on the celebration they look the same loved it only thing i didnt like is that the lido deck the pool takes up all the space so deck partys would be so crammed on the celebration i didnt see to much of the deck parties like they have on the horizion loved the horizon wish they had all the food on the marti gras and celebration and free pig and anchor and italian restaurant free to they need to change that prices be the same but the food is not so good in the buffet think they need to step up the game in the buffet area to seemed like they had the same stuff everyday i know it didnt use to be like this everyday was different some stuff was everyday but come on carnival lets get this food in the buffet upgraded needs to be good food and different buffet station dofferent types of food like you used to be

Amazing that Carnival carries the largest numbers of passengers per year and over 100 million to date in its history, but still lags far behind Royal Caribbean in terms of the size, tonnage, and capacity of its ships. E.g., Wonder of the Seas is over 230,000 tonnes, and the next one already built and taking reservations, Icon of the Seas is a quarter million tonnes.

Lots of dancing on this ship. Most of the dancing is on the lido deck though.
This is one ship with lots of restaurants and lots of restrooms the food is good the Internet was ok the internment was ok I might go back on this ship not sure about that had more fun on smaller carnival ships like the carnival pride is very nice .carnival Mardi Gras is to big and you get lost a lot ,

You say you still use terms like "Floor" in place of decks. Ships have deck, passage, cabin forward, aft port or starboard in stead of floor' hall, room, front, back, left or right. learn your terms before you brag about doing something for "thirty years". If you were ever in the military you would have been in the Air Force, only the use the terms you use. My wife and I sailed on the Mardi Gras back on April 22 2023 and I was very impressed with her and only had three negative thoughts, number 1 (the cabins were small, number 2 (the elevators were way to small slowing down passengers) and number 2 ( the Lido deck was small), these three things are comparisons to smaller ships like the dream. The upside is that the entertainment was awesome (Like Vegas), dinning was great, really liked Chi Bangs, Guys Burger joint and Pigs and Anchor and the Seafood Shack. Made good friends on the ship and went Ziplining in Amber Cove. Toured Grand Turk on golf carts and went to the lighthouse and had fried conk at Barbies, all in all it was a 9 out of 10 and would recommend to anyone and warn them about the cabins size and elevators.

In any case, please keep in mind these videos take weeks to edit and the filming takes several days, so one wrong word, is not to bad on a video this long. For example, in our 15 second comment, you used the “number 2” twice in your comment vs “number 3” after you highlight you three negative thoughts. But no worries. We understand what you are saying. So no need to make you feel like you don’t know how to write.
But the outside steps on this ship some of them were broken a lot of things were broken this ship it did not look new .like I said before the food is very good but the comedy was not good I would not wish to be on this ship if it was a full capacity we were on this ship Jan 2022 we had more fun on the small carnival ships,this ship is too Loud because of the roller coaster.

They have everything like chairs packed so closely I don’t know how anyone fits in there. Claustrophobic
After a day, you will be good and having fun! It is not as bad as it seems in some of the video. The ship is big and a great time!
