    You seriously have the best Tool tutorials on TH-cam! You don't drag them out too long, you get to the point, and you break it down to a perfect level of understanding. When I first heard of Tool, I was like these songs are going to take me forever to learn but really about 30 minutes tops. Thanks for posting and helping me out. Keep up the good work. :)

    When I met Adam Jones, he told me that the random squeals made by pick scraping are done by first taking the side of your pick and grinding a little hole into the side of the pick by rubbing the side of your pick back and forth across your top E string until it wears a little hole into the edge of the pick (he spent about 3 seconds doing it when he demonstrated). Then you take the little burrs and that hole that are eaten into the side of your pick and scrape it across the strings slowly. You'll find it matches the tone much more closely than just scraping the dull side of a new pick across the strings like that. The notes are more separate, getting plucked by the individual little burrs on the pick. they don't blend together as much.

    That bridge, or whatever it's called, that you play about the 8:30 mark is just killer. I'm not a huge Tool fan, but that riff is one of my favorites.

    I just finished watching all of your tool videos and I have to say, they are by far the best lessons for tool on youtube.
    Sure I could just read the music and learn it but, I really enjoyed the way you dove into some of Adams technique and some of his time signatures. Simply fantastic, well thought out. Loved every minute of them!

    Love all your Tool vids!! You make it seem possible for beginners to actually play this stuff. I'm sure these are a lot of work but I hope to see every Tool song eventually, especially Parabol/Parabola. Thanks again for your hard work.

    I have been a fan of tool since I bought Undertow when i was 16, Wow, that was a while ago huh? lol. I really only got into playing about a year or so ago. I got a $25 acoustic from a flea market and proceeded to "play", I'm not a big fan of lessons, because I always wanted my own "sound". But to me, Adam Jones is it, he sounds like no one else out there. I take in everything I can from everything you put out, and not just the Tool songs. You are very talented, I have been subbed since i stumbled onto your channel like a week after I bought my guitar. Sorry if I ramble. Keep it up as long as you have the drive to do so, you are the one "teacher" I can listen to, besides that, I dont see anyone else showing Jones style. And besides that, you just know waaaaay to much to keep it all in your head for yourself, your dome might explode. But sincerely, thank you very much

    I love when you provide a play through of the song, I like to just watch the play through with the tabs and if I want more in depth instruction I can watch the video and get that. It'd be awesome if you could do a play through for all the lessons if it's not too much of a hassle for you to do.

    Thank you. In all honesty, I will not be doing an Opiate lesson. There's about two riffs in the entire tracks. If you're really having a hard time with it you can schedule a lesson with me. We can easily get through it together!

    The VGS guitar came with the Evertune installed. But the installation would run you about $300-500. Depending on the installer. I was looking into one for my schecter and the quote was around $400. ESP, Mayones, Chapman and a few others have Evertune as a option now.

    I've been guitaring for about 5 years now, am getting somewhere on classical fingerstyle without structure (self taught plus video lessons), but what I really want is to get Adam Jones' stuff. I've got an Ibanez RG, so I won't be matching the right tone, something that's been a block to my muse (yeah, should've gotten a Gibson), but who knows, maybe it'll sound cool in a Jones/Satriani way..! Well, my point is that even with the great tabs at Tabpro, I haven't really gotten my feet under me on this path. Your videos are spot on and I'm looking forward to having a real shot at this, at last. Thanks much!

    • @axeofcreation
      @axeofcreation  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Don't let the model of guitar trick you into believing you can get the right tone. Majority of the tone comes from the amp. Best of luck!

    Instead of fretting the octave D on the A string, 5th fret, you need to be hitting the D on the D string, itself.
    This riff is very similar to Aenima’s main riff.

    Not bad, the middle bit is a bit iffy as rather than playing chords off the A string he sticks to rocking that D string, playing the chords higher up the neck, to get the beefy sound. Also penultimate 2/3/2 hammer on/ off of outro chorus is actually played 14/15/14 sliding down to 10. It’s subtle but if you listen to song that one bit is played an octave higher….everyone misses this little nuance.
