Thank you for such a detailed video that solved a very irritating problem. My sensor was not positioned correctly and dirty, so this was a free, 5-minute fix for me.
Dude, thanks a lot for this. I have been dealing with this issue for a couple of months and the whole time I was suspecting that a sensor was the culprit as Lo mode worked just fine. My car is to go to the shop for the yearly check and wanted to tell the mechanics about this failure, but I have just fixed it with a couple of Q-Tip to clean the sensor. Also if the part fails completely, the replacement is just 50 € and a couple of minutes of my time. EDIT: the sensor failed again and I had to replace it. Being European, I ordered it from MyParto for 60 € shipped and now it is working great! Do note that the updated part is 2030991 and, despite looking a bit different than the factory installed part, it is perfectly compatible.
Thank you so much for posting this. The Ford dealer in San Diego, Ca. wanted $150 out the gate just to look at it. Then they mark the price of the part up 150% and charge at least another $120.00 for an hour of labor to put it in. So you save me at least $200.00. I don't know if "Rock Auto" delivers to your country but if you have time to wait on the parts you can save a lot of money on small stuff that doesn't cost a lot to ship. It cost me $35.00 US and took 10 minutes to change it out.
Thanks! Cleaning and position again worked for me. Please note that the sensor part is really basic, it's just a resistor that changes its value with temperature (NTC). No fancy electronics, but it seems important that the fan is spinning and get the airflow from the cabin passing the sensor/NTC.
Thank you, your Video helped me to solve my problem. Ford part number shown in the Video has recently been replaced by part nr. 2 030 991. Price in sweden, about 500 SEK.
Is that part the very same as shown in the video? Because 2030991 looks different to me, with the connector facing a different direction. Or despite being different is still valid? EDIT: I have replaced my failing part with the new one (2030991) and it is perfectly compatible. My climate control works great again!
Very useful. Thanks a lot for the video! In my case, the sensor didn't work after thoroughly cleaning it up either. But I still tried to make it work back, so I re-soldered the little wires between the sensor itself (not necessarily the little electric engine's too) and the electric board and those from the electric board to the connectors. And it seems this did it. The cars' climate control now works as it should. Probably the connectors oxidized over time. I hope the fix will last.
Similar on a Fiat Bravo I hoovered if out. It was full of fluff and dust. Easy to miss this when cleaning the car, the manuals should at least mention this in basic maintenance
Is very hard to give you an accurate answer, but is very easy to try, remove the panel, remove the sensor and give it a try, if the noise is gone most likely the sensor is causing it

$400 later and this turned out to be the solution. Thank You! I used canned air to spin the fan backwards and a puff of dust flew out.

What exactly you have soldered?
The sensor's long legs' connection points onto the board. However, it only worked for a few days, so I eventually had to buy a new one.
Thank you so much for posting this! It was a huge help in helping me fit my sensor. Thankfully, after cleaning mine it worked fine!
Great that workout for you!
Thanks for this. Has the same problem on my 2011 Focus.
Resolved by just cleaning the sensor. 🎉🎉🎉
@@qtipcore Your welcome, I am glad that the problem was solved!
In my case I could solve the issue by just cleaning the sensor like you mentioned in the video (I used an air compressor). Thanks a lot!
Thank you! Cleaning the fan fixed my problem.

great thx for you. I have the same Problem and hope the new Sensor will fix the problem.
Is this the same procedure for a ford kuga mk1? Can I just pull back the plastic plate?
Thank you cleaning fan fixed the problem!
Thank you so much for posting this video.
Thanks for the good video, my fiesta now having same problem… hot air coming out it read room temp at negative temp… they open the vent to reduce temp
Thanks for the video - a simple cleaning (can of compressed air) and just like new. Thanks for the big savings.

Thank you very much.
Salutare! Compresorul de aer conditionat se oprea sau cupla dar nu baga rece din cauza senzorului?
great video! had the same issue.
Is there a separate sensor for the passenger side? If so, where is that located?
Thanks bud, I think you have just saved me some cash.
Worked for my car. Thanks
Good to hear that!
Mine does the same with or without AC. Is that the same problem?
Please help! I cant find the sensor. Can it be somewhere else than under the steering wheel? Cmax 2012 1.6 tdci
I cleaned the sensor, but it only worked for a couple of days. Thought problem was solved, but no. So it’s a new one?
Most likely…
Great video thanks!
Thanks!

Would replacing this sensor fix my 2017 ford escape buzzing noise? Coming from the dash?

YES, thanks.
Same component in C-Max. Part cost 32e, in Finland.

focus mk2.5 have this sensor?

Why can’t I find one like where urs is mine a 2012 se focus
Did you ever find it?

I had one that was not working.
It was easy fix, one resistor changed on electronic plate, inside of sensor, for a price of an ☕.
Used was 100€. 😂😂😂
Do you know what NTC resistor it needs? what Ohms etc?
Turkey
2030991 alternative number, and cheaper!
120 euros for such a cheap silly interior sensor ?? hahahaha ! great stealing Ford !
120 euros for that shitty plastic temprature sensor ??? omg !!
Try eBay or Amazon sure you can't get patern part or used
