Since Anakin told Obi-wan directly about his dreams and Yoda gave permission, shouldn't he have gotten to Tattoine far sooner than canon? Hence like very shortly after she was abducted? She shouldn't have been nearly as injured by that point.

Anakin still would have turned to the dark side as he is destined to do so.

As for the sequel, I think by the time the Jedi found Palpatine, he had already become successful at cheating death. Rather than fight the Jedi when they came, he surrendered peacefully. He had already won, because the knowledge he had was too valuable for all Jedi to resist temptation, and to kill him was a moral quandary. Sure, the Sith could be wiped out, but so would the knowledge that could save lives. Eventually, Palpatine brought up the fact that the Jedi and the Sith were once part of the same religion, and that now existed the opportunity to reunite them. Due to his now infinite lifespan, Palpatine assured the Jedi they didn't have to make a decision on his trustworthiness now, but could wait until an opportunity presented itself where he could be redeemed.

Great story. I enjoyed how closely it paralleled the original story while having a very different ending. Part two might be a stretch? Palpatine alone against the full unbroken might of the Jedi order doesn't seem very competitive. I think he'd need to be doing more than dark research and actually have found some allies to make it interesting.
i say go balls the wall. Palpayine would. taking what he could with him to Sojurn to work on his masters research for himself but also work on Project Necromancer.
Imagine how different this would've gone if Dexter Jester just...didn't know where the dart was from, or didnt work his shift that day
