    Great video! I'm in need of a new rugged phone for 2023. What do you think of the blackview bv9200 coming out? Or should I buy another phone for this price range (200$ on sale)?

    • @SurvivalSuperhero
      @SurvivalSuperhero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey William! Yeah the Blackview BV9200 definitely looks like a good phone if you get it on sale for $200! You also might want to go for the Ulefone Power Armor 19 that's coming out the same day. It's got a better chipset, 12GB onboard RAM (not virtual), internal storage expands to 2TB, 108MP main camera, higher resolution, and it's launching on sale for $260 on AliExpress. Have you personally used the Ulefone 18t yourself? Cause this looks like you just rank them based off their specs sheet, I read a lot of users reviews having issues with the phone like battery quality falling off after a few weeks of use, the phone restarts randomly on its own etc...

      I am definitely considering doing reception tests in future videos, but my issue is, whatever reception I get can and probably will be different for everyone else, depending on your carrier and where you're located. So I might get really great reception, and someone else might get really bad reception. Or vice versa. What do you think?

      @@SurvivalSuperhero Yes true. agree. It just comparison on average. Some may get better and some doesnt.Every phone have defects as well. Quality control on this phone we dont know. Me and my wife have iphone 6plus and iphone 7plus each. Seems iphone 6plus signal is more stable and wifi is stronger compare to iphone 7plus at the time i purchase. Same telco i used. bluetooth connectivity quality comparison is something to consider as we are using wireless headphone. again maybe varies too. and how about speaker rating. like your video review about the good speaker phone AGM. that comparison among rugged is also rare thing.

      Probably in the A tier, or high B tier at the lowest. Definitely a good phone. It's even got the same chipset as the Oukitel WP19 and a couple other phones released in 2022. Large 13,200mAh battery is also very nice. And it's got a huge 6.81" screen. But it's only 810G, it's not 120Hz refresh rate, not 5G.

    So if you remove the phones that are not 5G, and don't run on Verizon or AT&T , what's left? I'm looking for practical useful knowledge. This video while colorful, it doesn't make me want to experiment with buying these phones.

    • @SurvivalSuperhero
      @SurvivalSuperhero  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mountain Snow Troll - you ask a great question. Here's the answer. I would suggest if you're looking for a solid rugged phone that is 5G and will work with Verizon or AT&T, you should try the Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro 5G. A couple others that work with Verizon and are 5G are Kyocera Duraforce Ultra 5G UW, Kyocera Durasport 5G UW. Here's a video I made that talks more about those phones and some others that do work with Verizon: th-cam.com/video/beRigPgaxNQ/w-d-xo.html
      Also, there's a great provider called Tello that is super cheap, high quality, and will work with lots of the rugged phones that won't work with AT&T, Verizon, etc. They run on T-Mobile's towers, and that's actually the company I use for phone service and am super happy with it. So that's another option - you probably could actually save money on your monthly phone bill through Tello too

    18:29 Chinese rugged smartphone. Evolveo Strongphone G9 is an older model - Czech Republic

    • @SurvivalSuperhero
      @SurvivalSuperhero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's crazy! Thanks for the heads up. Looks like the Evolveo StrongPhone G9 isn't available anymore - so I guess the Doogee V30 is the only rugged phone with eSIM that's currently available? But that is crazy that Doogee and everyone else is saying the V30 is the "world's first eSIM rugged phone." I'm noticing that rugged phone manufacturers play fast and loose with the "world's first" or "world's biggest" titles. I notice that rugged phone companies don't update their marketing materials when their phones are also not the "world' biggest battery" anymore. A phone with a larger battery will come out, but still smaller battery phones will still claim to be the world's biggest battery rugged phone.
      I will be more careful in the future to double check rugged phone manufacturers' claims of being the "World's First" or "World's Biggest" anything.

    • @mihai-valentin8453
      @mihai-valentin8453 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Maybe they assume that we are inclined to buy new products, with higher specifications. China is also a popular country. The truth is that all consumers should do their research before purchasing a type of product. They can try to buy at least 2 devices 🤷 Much respect! 👍

    • @SurvivalSuperhero
      @SurvivalSuperhero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that. Yeah I definitely didn't have time to mention carriers for every phone in this video. Usually when you buy the phone it'll tell you which carriers it will work for and which carriers it won't work for, but if you don't read every word it's possible to miss it.
      Are you able to return the phone?
      Also, if you're in the US, you could try Tello. It's super cheap, great customer service, and uses T-Mobile. Not sure what carrier you have now but you might end up saving a lot of money switching.

      None of these types of Rugged phones will work on any mainstream carrier in the US other than T-Mobile!

      I mean, there is SOME benefit to virtual RAM, right? The way I understand it is virtual/expandable RAM lets keep more apps running in the background, which means more apps will load faster. But it doesn't make the whole phone run faster.
      I've heard that technically using virtual RAM can damage the internal storage but it would take like 4 or 5 years to see any negative effects. Which by then most people would have moved on to a new phone.

      @@SurvivalSuperhero I think the benefit is only in a laboratory environment. Using virtual RAM to have more apps in the background must hurt battery drainage and shuffling from storage memory can't be as fast as having it in RAM. How many apps do you really need to open 0,531 sec faster (made-up number, no source...)?
      In real life I'm convinced it won't make you feel any happier/faster/better (unless you see it as a "mine is bigger than yours" win😊)
