Today's Lecture's summary : 1) Soundwaves are produced by pressure/density variation due to which compration and rarefraction develops. 2) When we speak, we increase the pressure of air near our mouth and so it is compressed. Due to elasticity in medium, this comprasion expands and converts to rarefraction and thereby, it compresses air near it and thats how a sound wave propogates. 3) Sound wave can be described as pressure wave, dispacement wave and as density wave. 4) Pressure waves and density wave are in same phase while displacement wave has a phase difference of 90° with them. 5) S = Asin(wt - kx) ◇P = ◇P. sin(wt - kx + 90°) ◇P.=ABK ◇g = ◇g. sin(wt - kx + 90°) ◇g.=AgK [ g means row and ◇ means delta]
