    I really dig those kind of events, seems like the ones of today are kinda the same and not very inspired. Thanks for the videos, it's incredible the strenght of Colombo and Ferrigno who were also Bodybuilders at the time. They had the complete package .

      I agree they should have more different events like this. I want to see feats of strength and not who can squat and deadlift the most although that is impressive and part of a lot of things. I just don't like how everyone bows down to the deadlift these days. Oh mighty deadlift king of all lifts. Yeah and boring as hell. The reason they probably dont is because a lot of these events they deemed unsafe. But who the fuck cares about safety I want to see Brian Shaw throw a person.

    I think Mike's hands had ribbons of skin coming off the palms and that was him out of the competition. He's awesome though, love his handcuff breaking!

      I've seen modern WSM competitors (6'8" 400lbs seems to be the norm these days) who have skin ripping off their hands and just clip it off and go to the next event. Twice my deadlift got up to 500lbs, both times it ripped skin off and put me out of the gym long enough that I had to work to get my deadlift back to that level (2nd time was the last time I ever got it that good.) Mike is incredible, I got his book and got to ask him a question via email; watched his performance video in full yesterday. Pretty cool, I'd like to see him bend a quarter; the article that I originally heard about him the author exaggerated and it wasn't needed (claimed mike lifted the front of his Caddy, he pulled it forward; which is different but still very impressive and far beyond what my computer seems to think is possible.)

    Those 45lb plates look awesome anyone know what they are called?

    • @Billionaireben
      @Billionaireben 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they state 110, if that's correct; it could be multiple plates or specialty plates. I used to go to a hardcore gym that had some 100lb plates, a pain to try to use.
