    Wonderful reminder of what a dynamic band Keef Hartley was; and Miller Anderson's voice is amazing. Keef died way too young, in 2011.

      You know, I heard the Keef Hartley Bands album The Time Is Near when it was released and loved the bass lines. Then years later I discovered the bassist was Gary Thain, a fellow kiwi, and couldn't believe it. So sad to hear he joined the 27 club, as he was so talented. What could have been...

    This goes to show that the music industry is a heartless money junkie. This band didn't make it to any of the Woodstock recordings, therefore you would never hear them unless you went looking for them. But all that aside, they are really really good, and with a timeless sound.

      The story at the time was that their US agents thought they’d be tainted by agreeing to be on the film, because they didn’t think it would be any good!
      The set was problematic as they had to borrow equipment to play it.
      I saw them at The 1969 Bath Blues Festival a few weeks before Woodstock and they were excellent. Caught them many times after, including Bath 1970.

      Even it's great to see the band playing, all the video is a mess: Miller with a microphone stand in front of his face, Keef and Gary almost invisible and so the brass section (only Henry and Barbara are clearly featured, mostly because they're soloing).

    Se puede ver a Gary Thain al bajo, muy limitado en su hacer, por el tipo de música que hacía Keef Hartley , en 1972 se pasaría a Uriah Heep donde haría los mejores albumes de la banda y haría cátedra tocando el bajo.

      Your tone of voice make it seem like you're blaming the uploader. I guess your glass is half empty. As for me, I'm happy to be able to see anything of the Keef Hartley Band live. Cherish what you got, man.

    • @laurakain1524
      @laurakain1524 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't think that was his intention. The uploader is a god among men to aid us in seeing this incredible group of musicians. I empathize with his frustration, but indeed that's how they filmed. Personally I just can't stand when they have the seizure inducing camerawork shifting back and forth rapidly and unnecessarily. But sometimes the tendencies of the era work out and enhance the music (see Dragonfly by Fleetwood Mac for example). Thanks anyway for the upload!
