Seriously for everyone astonished from her calm tone, it shows a lot of people misunderstood Haruka's whole character in the 90s anime - from her episode of her past, we discover she's terrified of accepting her fate as a Senshi and losing her freedom; it's only once Michiru confesses to her she decides to walk the path of destiny along with Michiru who tried to shield her from it. Although she is a flirt and is extremely antagonistic at times, it's all from her good heart trying to protect the younger girls and her responsibility as Outer Senshi to deal with outer solar system threats. Here, she is singing to her past melancholically reminiscing of her lost days and wanting to be free as the wind again (in S, she is terrified that she has to bear the burden of the death of an innocent to retrieve the Talismans). Freedom from her destiny that she acquires at the end of S after which she apologizes and pays her respects to Usagi and leaves Tokyo to re-evaluate her life. Haruka in the 90s anime is a much more complex character than she ever was in the manga, whereby she throws away any personal happiness to serve Usagi - the biggest insult in my opinion is in the last arc where she and Michiru go back to school just so that their lives continue to revolve around Usagi compared to the 90s anime in which they went to live their lives until a new threat appeared.
This song fits her so perfectly. It reflects all her nostalgia of wanting to be free and shows her softer, tender side. The melody when she sings Kaze ni naritai is so sad... you can hear the longing...Gives me feels. Love Haruka. Beautiful character
The manga has always shown them as a gentle and soft teddy bear!!! cute and soft whenever they want to show it but tomboyish and strong and hard as an angry bear on the other side!!!
After analyzing the lyrics, it’s interesting to note how the various songs correlate with the characters - Kaze ni Naritai is about Haruka lamenting on her fear of having to sacrifice an innocent and lost of freedom, Ai Dake ga Dekiru Koto is about Michiru relating how if Haruka can reciprocate her feelings, that’ll be the light at the end of the tunnel despite her destiny as a Senshi, Unmei wa Utsukushiku about Michiru and how she felt when she first fell in love with Haruka and how it made her stronger, But… Naoko’s songs are quite bizarre - Senshi no Omoi seems to be a weird mix of manga and anime Michiru where the focus is on fulfilling their destiny and protecting Usagi and Initial U seems to be a love song to… Usagi? The song talks about Usagi’s locks, their manga kiss and seems to even diss on Michiru - ‘the white petals were scattered into the ocean’ and ‘I threw the Silver mirror into the sea’ - it feels she’s saying she wants to go after Usagi (Silver Mirror) but she (white petals) are being held by Michiru (the sea) 😰 Haruka is represented by white petals (be it in Crystal/Eternal supervised by Naoko and she has platinum blond hair in the manga), her favorite color is Gold so using Silver which represents Usagi instead of gold seems extremely weird. I heard rumors of Ogata not liking the lyrics and thus not wanting to do the single and that could be right. I heard scheduling conflicts but today seiyuus are even more busy and they still fill in their role with recording songs. And moreover from the little I’ve listen to Ogata 2 songs as nods to Haruka - Kaze ni Naru pays some hommages to Unmei wa Utsukushiku and Shiokaze ni Nosete (Riding on the Sea Breeze) is about Michiru and her (Haruka) wanting to confess properly and them living together (basically an answer to Ai Dake)
Can you elaborate more on Initial U being about Usagi? I've always loved the song and never understood the hate for it but I've also always interpreted it as being about Michiru so I'm kind of confused now
Senshi no omoi is a deep haunting song that fits the dark last phase of Stars. It expresses Neptune's fear, desire to be brave and how she finds comfort in Haruka being her sister in arm. Now, Initial U is a tonal mismatch. I agree with Ogata refusing to sing it.
Please don’t ask where I came from And please don’t touch my wounds And please don’t think back to days long lost Please don’t stop here, we can do better The dreams in my heart that I’ve killed Are clamoring within like a storm Since I’ve turned my back on them Those dreams have scattered like tears Ever since I made the choice to fight I want to become the wind I want to become the wind Please don’t blame me, it’s true I’m not kind Please don’t cry, you’re my darling It’s still so far away, the day I’ll kiss Those lovely blooming flowers of innocence I swore to protect this world with my sword A place where anyone can follow their dreams That day isn’t so far off When I’m on the road of a soldier I want to become the wind I want to become the wind I want to become the wind I want to become the wind

Well said!!
Them going back to school in Stars was because it made it easier for them to be around Usagi all the time, therefore being closer to help protect her
Her voice always kills me. It's so perfect.
I’m not the only one with same thing😅 nice!

Unlike the harsh, tomboyish Haruka, this’s is more of a gentle tone. Way to go, Uranus!🤗
This song shows she actually has more of a gentle side.
Спасибо, хоть здесь не написал: «R.I.P. Seiya’s voice actress»
Edit!
Haruka wants to escape it all, all the fighting and not just that, just everything and don’t get me wrong. I want to as well.

Haruka-San
She was the Japanese dub voice for Manic in Sonic Underground.
I think the only one she would let call her like that would be Michiru, and barely lmao
Beautiful 🌙🌙🌙
Beautiful ❤💖💓
How did I expect this
Please don’t ask where I came from
And please don’t touch my wounds
And please don’t think back to days long lost
Please don’t stop here, we can do better
The dreams in my heart that I’ve killed
Are clamoring within like a storm
Since I’ve turned my back on them
Those dreams have scattered like tears
Ever since I made the choice to fight
I want to become the wind
I want to become the wind
Please don’t blame me, it’s true I’m not kind
Please don’t cry, you’re my darling
It’s still so far away, the day I’ll kiss
Those lovely blooming flowers of innocence
I swore to protect this world with my sword
A place where anyone can follow their dreams
That day isn’t so far off
When I’m on the road of a soldier
I want to become the wind
I want to become the wind
I want to become the wind
I want to become the wind
3:12 When that instrument sounds, I feel like Italian vibes lmao.
I'm too

it a sad song
but it nice
That's it. I desperately need a series where Haruka isn't a sailor senshi and kept going as a racing driver but still married to Michiru🥲
My alternative bae!

Very soothing and lullaby-like.
I wann hear Junichi Kanemaru cover this, since Sonic is like the wind.
