- I’m back, baby! It’s been a while since I’ve made a Calvin and Hobbes video, and I have to say, I really enjoyed making this one which adapts the longest Calvin and Hobbes story arc. Calvin, Hobbes, and Susie were voiced by me. Calvin’s mom was voiced by my mom. This is probably the biggest role my mom’s had in one of my videos.

Ironically enough, considering hobbes is effectively an extension of calvin's imagination (notice how I said extension of, not creation of.), It makes sense that the two of them would have very similar voices.
Finally! Someone gets it! I do my best to make Hobbes sound different, but I keep his voice close to Calvin’s to make it ambiguous whether or not he’s real.

calvin's voice being somewhat shrill and high pitched, while not pleasant to the ear, Does make quite a bit of sense, since technically, calvin is 6 years old, And most children tend to have high-pitched voices, regardless of their gender (this also justifies susy sounding somewhat similar to him as well.)
@@Saltboi1823 I apologize if Calvin's voice is shrill and high pitched. I just do the voice that I hear in my head when I read Calvin and Hobbes. It would be ideal to have a separate voice actress for Susie, but I make these videos mostly on my own, with my parents voicing Calvin's parents. Some people ask why I don't have my mom voice Susie, and the reason is I want Susie to sound youthful, and I'm comfortable voicing female characters. I can try to sound a little less high pitched if you like.

6:28 look at that scene, a wonderful bit of ink illustration, and just a throwaway background to the story. Watterson is brilliant in all ways.

I remember making it a point to learn what words like "inscrutable" and "macabre" meant from reading Calvin and Hobbes when I was a little kid.

I’m Red Dash, and I just noticed your channel. I enjoyed Calvin and Hobbes when I was young, which is why weeks ago, I started posting my own videos on the comics.
I was glad TH-cam and the creator didn’t mind my compilations, and I’m also glad it’s not just me who’s still interested in this decades-old series!
Had that happen in real life when my 3-year-old brother put our car in reverse, and it rolled back maybe 20 ft into a split rail fence.

Jamz, I wish you could have found out about this "noodle incident" that was referenced several times in the strip, but you do good voice-overs.
Bill Watterson deliberately never revealed the Noodle Incident because it’s funnier in the reader’s imagination.

What's idiotic about it? I kind of like the voiceovers. It shows, in my opinion, how the voices of Calvin and Hobbes sound like in the imagination of the creator of these videos.
