Your previous video had a lot of great points too. Thank you for the update and congratulations on the weight loss

Very well done video Steve!! I love the colors of your WR splitter & conveyor man!! Great info!! I love my SS but you bet there are times when I wish I could just push wood through without a care!!
    Enjoyed it as always!! 👊🏻

I agree with your points. I started with a box store hydraulic splitter. Was way better than an axe and maul, but it was slow as you had mentioned. I sell bundles and split small for that reason and to speed the drying process. I now have a HD Super Split and it really fits the bill. I don't think a pro model hydraulic could do what my SS does. My situation is different than most, but if a guy is looking for small splits and a lot of them, the Super Split is the way to go. Sure a box wedge can be added to a hydraulic splitter, but the slash waste is abundant with that style as well. I'm not a huge producer either so keep that in mind. Just my two cents. Good video!

Great comparison video Steve, viewers will learn a lot despite not being able to teleport. I'm ecstatic to have both machines, WR 28C for the big stuff and the SS for smaller and precision cuts.

Very nice comparison! I would love to have a super split for our camp or for doing resplits at home. I already have an Eastonmade 12-22 that does everything i need it to but at some point you have to be content with what you have. More more more isn't always better. I like the majic smoke trick! - Tim

Nice one Steve! I've been wanting a splitter for awhile now but haven't pulled the plug yet. Kinetic splitter is prolly my way to go, but the power of the hydraulic ones give off some Tim the tool time Tayler vibes.

ELEPHANT IN ROOM. That hydraulic splitter is at least 5X the price. Most people are not trying to split knarly twisty knotty wood. It is not worth splitting that stuff as it is a small percentage of wood and is a pain to stack. And as video shows he was not using the kiinetic splitter correctly to eliminate the need to stop flipping over and splitting again. That being said, if he had bought a slight MORE expensive hydraulic splitter it would split an ENTIRE round of wood in one go. Instead he can basically only do a ~4 way wedge. Hydraulic small splitters are bad unless you ALSO own: Small kinetic splitters are good. In a perfect world you would have both. Kinetic splitter is faster for all medium and small rounds without giant knots and you would use your hydraulic splitter for all the giant knotty pieces. But wishes are not fishes

So by me in Illinois all I get is large gnarly wood off my property (Oak and HIckory) and I need 15-20 cords of it for my boiler so I can't afford to be picky on what I split. I have hundreds of hours on the Super Split and know quite well how to use it. The Wolfe Ridge was about 9,000 at the time I bought it and the Super Split was about 3,500 so not 5x but more expensive for sure. On my property in Kentucky we get allot of very straight smaller soft woods and the super splitter is the way to go for me. If Im going to mess with the lack of speed on a hydraulic splitter it better be able to handle anything I throw at it and I have not had that experience with a box store splitter.

Man we have a family house about 450 miles away from our place, I wish we could just poof up and away and be there 😂😂😂
I considered a kinetic splitter before getting the Axis. I wanted something for resplits mainly, but I have more options for splits with the vertical. Definitely not easy to move around, it's parked where it sits and I bring wood to it, so maybe the kinetic would had been a better choice😂🤷‍♂️
Great video and comparison between the two types of splitters!!!

@@upinsmokefirewood I like the 28pro and I like the 22rs . The 28 pro is 500 dollars more without the auto cycle than the 22rs with the lift . I want a lift and I really like the hydraulic wedge for on the fly . My box store splitter doesn’t have an auto cycle so I would not be missing it if I didn’t get one .

i have a super splitter, it is a great machine, but like you said it does have its limitations, it boils down to how much you going to use it and how much do you want to spend!!

Money talks! I think the Super Split is a good pick for the money. I bought a vertical split fire 1165 and it is another great choice for the money.

I will be honest with you, I own a Rugged Split 22 ton and J model supersplitter. Hands down I would go with kinetic splitter again. Wish I could say say the same for the Rugged Split, can't. Any one looking for a hydralic splitter give me a comment.
