      Bombay gin uses light blue glass. There are numerous German wines that come in cobalt blue. Check with a local establishment that serves such alcohol for availability of empty bottles. Red glass is another issue. I rarely see red glass in use due to the cost. Would be easier to get scraps of stained glass from a small stained glass shop.

      Skøll vodka flavored beer has blue bottles, you might find them. They're a bit expensive but they're pretty good even for me who doesn't like beer.
      Red is harder to find though, most are amber. Your best bet might be to get stock glass and melt it yourself, or find a somewhat local glassblower that you can buy broken glass/failed pieces off of. (And you might even be able to collab)

      My coolest piece is half red and half orange, a nearly perfect split!
      Edit:you can also find other colors but the most common in my experience is infact red with orange being more like finding blue and ive only found a single piece of clear road glass, the rarities appear to be flipped on land lol but ive still only found about a dozen pieces and they are like half a pinky nail in size compared to the litteral gallons of proper beach/sea glass i collected, i call it beach glass bc most i actually found around Lake Ontario.

    Awesome video! Just a quick heads-up for the future: be super careful when opening the tumbler, especially when you're tumbling cool materials like quartz or glass. The dust inside is primarily silica, and breathing it in can be very harmful, leading to a serious lung disease called silicosis. This is a big issue for people who work with masonry, cutting concrete, and in industries like stone cutting and quarrying. So, make sure to take precautions to avoid inhaling it and stay safe while having fun with your beautiful rocks!

    • @Jason-vx6vg
      @Jason-vx6vg 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +38

      Same with street sweepers, I don't quite remember what the ppm is as it's been a few years since we had a sniffer out, but it's enough to require a Silica report with our safety plan. While passing one here and there isn't likely to give you diamond lungs, it's best to just roll up your window during the summer months when we're out there really kicking up the dust on the highway or city roads.

    • @edep3970
      @edep3970 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Yes, every little bit counts, but the amount you have to breathe in for it to be a major problem is a lot, and she's using water

    • @Socal_Geo1
      @Socal_Geo1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edep3970 no, dude we’re talking about the dry dust when she first pulls out the container, there is some dry dusty stuff on everything there. That’s the sketch material you gotta stay away from and not breathe in or you’re gonna get messed up. A lot of it is silica dust that causes silicosis. Bad lung disease. Basically humans have problems coughing out that dust once it comes in. Good luck getting it out. It’s similar to asbestos, in that both are inhaled minerals that cause major lung problems for life. Other than that everything‘s pretty safe and cool.

It made it exciting to go to a fun room rather than a scary, fluorescent office. I always thought it was really cool the things they modified to make kids more comfortable being there. I remember they had some nintendo 64’s in the waiting area plus game boys to play with at your chair. They had fake planets popping through the ceiling so when you’re laying down, you can see the planets with star lights twinkling. @@alaskatlf99 I hadn't considered a need to burp it, because I don't see any way for pressure to increase or decrease in any notable way. It looks like the tumbler is roughly the size of a quart mason jar. I can't imagine the pressure changes resulting from ambient temperature would be significant, nor do I imagine that the tumbler requires any kind of gaseous or fluid input after the initial pre-tumble fill. Worst case, I imagine that if any pressure were to build up inside it, it'd be no more intimidating than popping a can of stale soda. But I could be mistaken. Like I said, I know nothing of rock tumbling. I was hoping for feedback from someone who knows more than I do.
