I wanted to compare Ferlendis’ own concerto to Mozart’s, and I can certainly see that it or another by Ferlendis likely served as a model. Mozart’s oboe concerto shares some formal idiosyncrasies with Ferlendis’ concerto that identify it as a work for an Italian audience.
@@musicful85 That is an interesting fact, having listened to both pieces now, there is a good likeness. Thanks for that info, I hadn’t heard of Ferlendis either. As this in concerto number 3, will see if 1 and 2 are available.
@@StuartSimon not sure I hear any similarities between this work by Ferlendis and that of Mozart (at least in anything other than the generic idiosyncrasies shared by nearly all classical solo concerti). In any case, Ferlendis might have been Italian, but was an oboist in the court of Salzburg, which is also where Mozart's concerto was written and first performed.
Merci 🤗
The road reminds me of the country road to my mother's farm when i was ten. I like rural life and oboe music.
Sehr, sehr schönes Konzert, schönes, melodisches, in sich ruhendes Adagio, temperamentvolles Allegro.

Wonderful !!!!!!! Great performance, love the forgotten masters.
My favourite key.

Giuseppe Ferlendis, Thats a new one for me, Interesting, I like it.
Ferlendis was also the oboist for whom Mozart wrote his only oboe concerto.

@@artfuldodger4850 Indeed, he wrote 3 concertos for oboe, and one for English horn.
