So, true story - I came here from a Twitter thread. Someone asked "what's something you hate for no reason?" I said "James Blunt. By all appearances, he seems to be a nice guy, I just don't like him." 5 hours later, I get a notification - James Blunt is following me. At first I thought it was a joke, but the account is verified. I'm just impressed he found me so quickly and decided to follow my tiny account. I looked over his feed and found it charmingly self-deprecating, so I follow him back and DM "respect, man." He DMs back and asks me how I'm doing in the quarantine. We get to talking, I see he has a new album out today. I realize that it just got on my nerves how overplayed some of his stuff was when I was younger and a bit of a hipster. I decide to give his new album a listen. Normally, I'm more of a prog rock kind of guy, but he's blowing me away with these tracks. Now I find myself getting ready to buy his new album. TL;DR: James Blunt genuinely seems to be a cool guy in real life. Thought you'd all enjoy that.

Hello James, if you see this, I just want to tell you it's amazing to see how your songs reach a little girl's soul and teach her about love, caring, responsibilities, and give her strength.
It's my 5-year old daughter who loves your songs so much that listens to them everyday. When she heard Monsters for the first time, she had those tears run down her cheeks, quietly. And after a few days, she told me that her dream was to make a time machine, so that she could take you back to the time when your father chases away monsters for you; So that I get to spend more time with my late grandmother, who had literally brought me up. I knew she had been touched by your song, deeply.
Respect, James. For what it's worth, no matter what your decision is, we'll be behind you.

Growing up I listened to all his songs and albums and admittedly I fell in love with his music, and for the past few days I’ve been binge listening his newer music and revisiting some of his old songs and I’m still in love with his music. His music helped me through a lot even now and I’m still not ready to say goodbye to you James Blunt please keep on going, your music helps more people than the views and the statistics would show.

I had some pretty bad experiences through high school and the following couple years after (along with the good experiences) but for your music helped me get through a lot of those times with joy, pain, and wonder.
