Honestly I really don't understand people's taste in music. I mean how could James songs be getting unsatisfactory views on TH-cam? But when someone else yells and sings useless lyrics they get 100 millions views within 5 days. It's a shame. I'm surprised after going through Jame's music over the past decades he couldn't even boast of 4 million subscribers on TH-cam. James is the true definition of an artist. All of his songs are near perfection.
He is very successful. Most artists do not have nearly the fan base that he does. You are comparing him to a very small amount of artists.

Ifeanyi - with respect, you're asking a silly question! Firstly, individuals (obviously) have VERY different tastes in music. Secondly, even someone like me, who I really loves much of his music, might not like all of it. Personally, I think this is definitely one of his weaker songs. It's nowhere near the standard (or originality) of his best stuff!
So it's really not so shocking that some people have given it a thumbs-down. But they are less than 1% of the likes...

I was aware of James the whole time. I just never listened to him. Flicking through some music to put my son to sleep and he took to James, bizarrely the Monsters song, and I've started to like him more and more. Very talented and somehow underrated.

So, true story - I came here from a Twitter thread. Someone asked "what's something you hate for no reason?" I said "James Blunt. By all appearances, he seems to be a nice guy, I just don't like him." 5 hours later, I get a notification - James Blunt is following me. At first I thought it was a joke, but the account is verified. I'm just impressed he found me so quickly and decided to follow my tiny account. I looked over his feed and found it charmingly self-deprecating, so I follow him back and DM "respect, man." He DMs back and asks me how I'm doing in the quarantine. We get to talking, I see he has a new album out today.
I realize that it just got on my nerves how overplayed some of his stuff was when I was younger and a bit of a hipster. I decide to give his new album a listen. Normally, I'm more of a prog rock kind of guy, but he's blowing me away with these tracks. Now I find myself getting ready to buy his new album.
TL;DR: James Blunt genuinely seems to be a cool guy in real life. Thought you'd all enjoy that.
