Really appreciate the detail you provide especially with the plastic grommets and gaskets on the Chevrolet truck series. These plastic pieces and parts cost me more grief than you could possibly imagine you've provided some decent workarounds and insight thank you
Outstanding video. You really took your time with the camera angle and explained everything thoroughly. And you didn't cuss or throw tools (as I would've). Subscribed!
Two cinder blocks one on each side of the vehicle with an 8' 2x4 allows you to easily lower and raise the tank with gas or without! Instead of fighting with the evap lines on the back remove the evap canisters two 13mm bolts and lower the evap canister with the tank!
Man, that's a heck of a long, somewhat tedious job! Wish I had the knowledge, equipment and space for doing my own repairs. Repair costs, parts and labor, are getting absolutely ridiculous these days. Great vid... thanks!
I dropped the fuel tank and switched the pump but i cant get it back up the plate on my jack is too small and its a just a little too much gas in the tank. I dont have a 2×4 either. What to do?
Nice detailed video, did mine a little different as I couldn't get the second fuel line in the front of the tank disconnected(why did they put these connectors where you can't see or really reach them?? and tabs you can't disconnect with your fingers?? 😡) Disconnected the driveshaft for more room, dropped the back of the tank down and was able to disconnect the lines off the pump then popped the lines out from the tank. Dropped the tank all the way out, Installed an ACDelco premium pump(genuine GM replacement) made in China 🙄 Hopefully lasts as long as the original 160k mi. Took 4-6 hrs and could do it again in 3 but may just cut the floor next time if these pumps don't last long.
They don’t make it easy that’s for sure. GM pumps have always had issues and don’t last long I’m surprised they never put a hatch in all their vehicles for easier access.
The only difference is on the fuel pump the normal regular gas will have three lines coming off of it where as the flex fuel only has two lines coming off the fuel pump.
Absolutely amazing. Got the car up and running. The hardest part was taking off the clip on the fuel pump and lifting it back into the car. Besides that super easy. Thank you dude.

Getting the damn straps lined up putting it back in is the hardest part from the floor. Good video.

I’d say see if you can get a couple buddy’s under there with you to help lift it up.

what's the difference from a gas and flex pumps?
The only difference is on the fuel pump the normal regular gas will have three lines coming off of it where as the flex fuel only has two lines coming off the fuel pump.
HOW THE PUMP PERFORMANCE SO FAR? GETTING ONE TOMORROW...MINE IS LEAKING AND LOOSING POWER GOING UPHILL.
Still going strong no issues.
I broke one of my evaporator plastic lines? How screwed am I?
You may get a check engine light but it most likely won’t effect the way it runs
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE ok thank you bro!!
How much would you charge someone for that work ?
Labor I’d say about $150-$250.
My mechanic told me 850 to do smh
that's what the charge fee is. take les then 2 hrs at a shop@@thespeedjunkieo2904
Is that a flex fuel pump?
Yep
Cant you drop the tank down some so you have more room
You can just be careful with the evap lines.
Badass bro. Thank you for the help. How has it been holding up?
So far so good this was done on a buddy’s and he’s still driving it everywhere.
