In 2009, the Brits finally had enough of being lorded over by aristocracy. The government gave the hereditary peerage the chop, evicting them from those hallowed halls - The House of Lords. Add to that the high cost of living in a stately home, and your lord and ladyship days were numbered. But as history has shown us, you can't keep a true, blue blood down. The landed gentry were ready for one last battle to remain relevant.
This story contains scenes of upper class privilege and moments of sublime eccentricity.

You can't punish people for being born into any situation. You can however raise them to do good things.. being an arrogant, unintelligent buffoon isn't something one should strive for.

Son yells at his mother to “shut up!” while his father sits and does nothing. They are the perfect example of style and grace.

  • @Blue1Sapphire

Telling your mother to shutup while the father says nothing, says it all about this family.

The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

  • @dougmackenzie5976

Eccentric behavior is only "eccentric" if you have wealth. If you behave eccentrically and are poor; you're considered to be insane.

  • @BombshElle_7

I love how the son is so pompous about inheriting a mansion that his parents can't afford. 😂

  • @gulmerton2758

As a French (who loves English people) I laughed at « we’re genetically bred to hate the French »! These people are so funny, still living in the past with the same mentality. Move on! We’re not so bad!😂

I just read about Lord Fulford on Wikipedia. He failed at everything he ever did, so he decided to go into politics. Apparently, they didn't want him there either.

  • @cross75man75

I love him saying old money is better than new money, when he has no money.🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • @Watchamacallit000

The ignorance of a teenager. "Oh, you just got money. We've had it for ages." Completely oblivious that his father can't afford the upkeep and confessed that the finances have been on a slippery slope downwards for centuries.

  • @uppityupshaw

I love how the wife tried to reframe what pompous mess her husband was saying in order to make us feel sorry for them. Claiming they aren't really privileged because they don't have staff.

  • @jayneweaver8695

The "aristocrats" seem like they'd fit in a trailer park near you, no matter WHERE that might be.

  • @ivanvarykino8202

The sense of entitlement and lack of regret at the thought of throwing his sister out of her childhood home convinces me that it will not end well for the young chap. Nor should it.

  • @mhtbfecsq1

The presenter exuded more class and grace than any of the aristocrats she interviewed.

  • @sunna8476

I'm shocked that this is real and not a sketch

  • @TeaParty1776

We were so poor that we couldn't afford to repair the seats in our Bentley.

  • @PeterHonig.

it is ironic how these folks have a such a strong self-bestowed sense of importance in society, when the rest of us see them for what they really are; excess baggage.

  • @BryanAllenSmith

I'm flabbergasted that anyone would confess publicly to thinking and behaving like these people

  • @verseau8360

The best thing that could happen to that young and creepy future heir would be that his family lost everything and he was forced to get a job as a stockboy at a Sainburys. Only hope for his personally and soul.

  • @juliegoldstein8357

What pompous assholes. I love the son talking about "old money" vs "new money". They don't have any money! They don't work. I love how they talk about the estate and it's conservation as the house crumbles around them.
