Ahh... yes. The "how dare you insult..." line. That's quite a confession of pride. It's one of those things that I think people don't really seem aware of when they say that. Or they don't care.
Lately i have started to develop a strong fear of pride, and this scene just amplifies it. Their own pride blinds them to their chosen Messiah right in front of them. Scary. I read that deep down they did believe he was the Messiah but refused to accept it.
