It's December 29th, 2020. The year started ,for me, by totaling my car, I found out today I need a root canal. My roof started to leak too. But in the worst year ever, I bought one of these , as a present to myself for surviving it. Anyway, tonight, I can't sleep. I turn on TH-cam and find this. I have guitars and a small synth set up. In the 80's I used to connect all my effects boxes together and turn dials. Now, again, I see this. When this finally arrives I don't care if COVID, Trump , this fucked up world EVER gets better. I am going into my bunker and forgetting about it all. I am 65 , retired and about to release my inner ENO..........
Hey, thank you very much for your comment! I'm sorry for those bad things you mentioned and I hope that you can get them all sorted out quickly. 2020 was such a crappy year indeed! I wish you a lot of fun with the Ocean Machine then and with connecting your instruments and effects in weird ways. Patching things in feedback loops is usually one of the first things I try out with new gear. There are always some strange surprises. Have a happy new year and best wishes! =)
@@tuesdaynightmachines Hell, I survived it.All you can do is keep on going. And it's things like this this machine that will make it a little more interesting. Thanks for the shout out and hope your new year goes well. I am going to MAKE mine a good year........
Thanks! I like to experiment with feedback every now and then. Adding more effect pedals to the chain can even make it possible to play crude melodies :D
I like the Morse code effect at 01:40 👍 This loop would make a great backdrop/background music before a band takes to the stage.....I could just imagine the lights dead low, almost dark, with these sounds building to a crescendo, the band sneaks on stage almost unnoticed and put their guitars on, then, 2 big hits on the drums and a big power chord intro....perfect 👌
@@SlyHikari03 To be honest mate, it was a duo we watched at a gig in my high school in around 1985-86. Me and my mate at the time had never seen such wizardry before.....especially coming from a couple of 18 year old lads. Well I can still remember it 40 years later so it made an impression in my 15 year old tiny mind 😆👍
Yeah, I find the pedal to be quite unique already for its original purpose of making ambient music out of everything, but the feedback droning is really cool too :D It also seems to feature a powerful MIDI implementation which I want to check out next.
Yes, it’s a feedback loop only. Like when you hold a mic next to a speaker, just with a cable from the output to the input. It makes a screeching sound which I process with the pedal’s effects.
Just when I thought I had posted too many horror jam videos these past few days... I had already seen this pedal but - as a pedal - now my inner demon needs this. ICH WILL EINE SOFORT!:))
@@tuesdaynightmachines this one is very cheesy (I feel ashamed sometimes because of that, but after 3 and half minutes it starts to be interesting), I've used Tenori-on to create a simple loop and then fed the signal into OceanMachine. hope to have time to play with Zynthian with ModUI+OceanMachine th-cam.com/video/LMhJ6HtBDeI/w-d-xo.html
Hi! Just had a crack at this, but when I go off the looper and removed the patch lead and re connect my guitar the effects are still going mad.Help!!!!!!
I've been getting hate and snobbish looks for purchasing this amazing sound design gear 3 years ago till date. People say the dumbest stuff, save up get the Strymon. It's not the same thing. and if you are in a bind you can't get a decent reverb or pedal. Just turn the feedback down then balance wet signal and dry signal you've got your basic reverb and very good delays. this is basically for ambient stuff if used as a stomp box or pedal. But like the video demonstrates, tabletop is the way to go, 1. synth fx playable parameters. 2. or creat a feedback loop like the video and design amazing sounds for movies or 3.more progressive and experimental music acts. 4. looper, you record a loop absolutely clean all the parameters are playable while repeating the loops. basically daw automation but since its hardware, the playing can be much more intuitive. %5. Distorted reverb option, 6. I have yet to reach a spot where I have run out of options. 3 years playing almost everyday, practice, gigs and studio releases and just fun when you have down time.
Lovely, I saw the Ocean Machine at NAMM 2018 and pre-ordered it at Amazon instantly in the evening for 200€ (I think it was a price bug). I love this device :)
Thanks! His thing really got my attention immediately as well and I wondered why nobody else had thought of this awesome combination of features before :D I also like how easy it is to use, with all the dedicated knobs, easy looping and ability to save presets.
That was awesome! Someone's finally using this pedal properly!
YES! THANK YOU!!! Guitars are heavily overrated.
Devin Townsend overlap in my synthesizer subscriptions! Wonderful!
Nice! What’s the other video?
That glare off the screen is PERFECT.
Yes, the Ocean Machine will shine its bright light straight into your heart ... I guess :D

Instant drone machine. Amazing!
What kind of magic is this?
It sounds amazing
The dark magic of unhealthy sounding feedback loops XD
Fabulous, yes I did enjoy the ride.
Inspiring stuff. Looking around for a unit for dark a,bient adventures. So this is very… intriguing!
Wow i cant believe i havnt thought of doing this yet with it , thx for the motivation.
Great! Post your results :)
NICE!!! Those old line 6 pedals (the ones molded in colored plastic) would do awesome stuff by being back-fed like this as well...
Thanks! I like to experiment with feedback every now and then. Adding more effect pedals to the chain can even make it possible to play crude melodies :D

YESSSSSS. Already wanted one of these, but now... NEED! XD
I felt the same way! Haha :D It's an instant ambient ... or noise ... machine, with a really nice user interface in my opinion.
Guess i don't need to plug my blofeld into this anymore to get ambient background sounds for my performances! Great video! :)
No, just the pedal is enough indeed 😁
Fantastic fun. I think I may try this with a chain of pedals later... hopefully my Ditto won't become an ex-Ditto following a Drone Strike...!!!
Do that and report back with your results! :) Creating those pedal chains for feedback loop sounds is so much fun and nicely unpredictable.
I'm always looking out for pedals with a difference . This is AWESOME 🎻💀💥💥💥💥

THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES I love feedback droning. Keeps you on edge💥💥💥
wow! the perfect drone time-waster! TY!
It is indeed :D Highly underrated noise machine!
Unless you record it and make a record with the result.
@@forwardmemory5940 i do that a lot with all sorts of stuff! (paulstretch is very useful too!)
fantastic 👍
Is this without any instrument played?just did from the knob?

Great idea but you did not mention on what program is was at startup or what reverb and delay to choose....
You can use any of them for different effects :)
Now thats cool!!!
love this
Amazing zero input drone!
Thank you! Zero Input stuff is fun and so awesomely unpredictable :D
Thanks for this, brilliant,!
Thanks for watching :)
Super share, thx👍🏼
Excellent use of this pedal. Waiting for mine to arrive today. So much creativity available with this machine. Drone a-go-go!
Cool! Have fun in the Ocean :)

Great ........IMAGINATION
Thank you!
Sweet. I literally just sold this pedal 4 days ago, and I would have wasted hours doing this.
Thanks! Yes, there’s quite some drone potential in there to get lost in :)
I was using OceanMachine with synths and using it as a vocal fx but never tried self-generated sound.
Cool! Try it and post a link to your recording if you like! :)

the cool thing is also midi, DAW can automate the things. just the parameters are somehow... chaotically sorted
geil !!!!!!!!!!!! you are incredible !!!!

Maybe the delay/reverb effect is set to a too high feedback?
the honor of the horror by Mooer because Mooer means more!
... and we definitely need mooer of that noise in my opinion.
