- In Rustin, Louisiana, 73-year-old OA Anders spent 45 years collecting pennies. On the anniversary of his first find, he discovered a rare 1943 copper Lincoln wheat penny and a box of old school records with silver certificates. His wife Martha supported him despite her concerns. A bank mix-up revealed Anders’s hobby to the local community, leading to the discovery of rare coins. With help from the Rustin Historical Museum and local moving company, Anders safely transported his collection to the bank. The coins included valuable misprints and historical artifacts, turning Anders’s hobby into a celebrated community project.

I remember this story. It was broadcast on national TV.
A similar story of a recluse mother/son on a rundown house on N. Mountain St in Carson City, NV. The mother/son died in close succession. Son was not found immediately but welfare check found body and several million dollars of coins, gold bars, rare coins. Closet heir was a niece, single schoolteacher, who was estranged from the pair. Great story to research and present on YT.
Not likely to find that many bags of pennies , sorry to say , but I really doubt this story .

I believed some of this story until what they said about finding an 1804 silver dollar. They should have stuck with just the penny story.
If you sell a collection like this you need to get the basic amount PLUS a percentage of the proceeds.

Waste of time and effort, because for 45 yrs of saving pennies you only accumulate $5000. You should save all your coins in different denomination for 45yrs you will be rich.😂😅😢
