Fantastic video, thankyou. Had no idea *some* T5's had drainable diff oil, my 2009 FWD 2.5 BPC auto does not sadly, as a blank where that diff drain bolt is. Extra big thankyou for pointing out adjustments you can try for shifts and changeover on the drivers side solenoid ends!! Will look into that next change for sure. For future reference you can get the valve body out without raising the engine off the subframe, just strip the body of all the looms etc, wriggle it down at the N90 front of van end and remove the accumulator piston and spring. Next, work on getting the passenger / non main solenoid side up as high as you can with the N93 area as low as possible at the left back of the valve body. You can wriggle the N90 upper edge out with a bit of work, there is even a milled small cutout for the top 10mm bolt that hits the gearbox housing itself, but with some careful wriggling it comes out just fine. Goes back in the same way. Tricky, tight, but entirely possible.
Hi mate, I have 3.2 v6 T5 With 09k, cold works fine, after it gets hot it starts to bang when going from park to drive , or park to reverse, and it gets few seconds delay before it bang and start to drive. It bangs HARD when downshifting from 5th to 4th. If I do manual downshifting it is okay. You reckon new valvebody will help? Cheers

Can you tell me how much atf there is supposed to go in there with just a fluid/filter change on a 09k transmission? The pipe was overflowing a bit before i let off the atf but there was still only about 2.5 liter coming out of it while a set with gaskets filter and atf provides 5 liter? Thanks 👍🏻
You usually get less than half of the 7L total out, so one 4-5L ATF bottle usually handles a normal drain where the rest stays in the torque converter.
I was told I needed to rebuild the transmission when replacing the valve body. I went to tranny specialist who said I would need to rebuild the transmission because it’s slipping. I also need the tocolm replaced? (Not saying this right).

It slips in the higher gears .I was towing a big load and it was to much for it.i thought first the gear box would have to come out and change the clutches in the gearbox. But from doing abit of research I think it could be the valve body that needs replacing or fixing..would a bad valve body make it slip in gear? I be driving along and it starts to over rev and doesn't go anywhere.
h, yes valve bodies wear out on these because alloy valves are anodized to make them harder and wear out the vbody bores. a leaking solenoid also can cause issues and wont give fault codes as a leak is considered a mechanical not electrical issue. cheers
hi, not sure what you mean? push the linkage toward park and make sure it is in park by pushing vehicle a bit, then just slowly notch it to Rev-Neutral-Drive etc. cheers

hi, how do you know it jumps 1st to 5th ? check through the clutch and solenoid application chart to see where your issue is. if its jumping 1st to 4th the n282 solenoid may be stuck on. most likely a contaminated and/or leaking solenoid but can also be a stuck valve or worn valve body. while you have the valve body out, make sure you also air pressure test the apply ports in case. if you need more info contact me on facebook link in description where we can share pics and bring some beers. cheers
my trans has the remote cooler line filter screen and the hole in the valve body is also open for it but i dont have the remote cooler instead i have the normal circular mounted case coolar. im really confused

Anyways the valve body I got has the wrong hole opened I've bolted on the new valve body and so far shifting great. I'm just worried since the valve body that I removed has the hole opened like yours and new one doesnt but my passat doesnt have the remote cooler

hi, you need to check fluid level within specified temperature with a suitable scan tool or thermometer. cheers

FYI DSG only came in with the 2010 2.0 litre T6 engine vans, all T5's had this god damn Aisin 6 speed auto in 2.5.
I am looking for proper valve body shift linkage position the shift are comes all the way out of the shift piston on the last notch is that normal ?

hi, yes the 09G will have heat exchanger ontop of trans and 09K will have a remote heat exchanger in front of trans. cheers

hi, when you remove vbody as well as the fluid in trans, the top half of the fluid in torque converter will also come out. cheers

hi, if yours has the cooler/heat exchaner bolted ontop of trans, is different to one in vid with remote cooler/heat exchanger. cheers
