Damn i wish i saw this when i first bought my son the V8 GXP for his graduation! He's been pushing it a bit but overall keeping it safe. If he has issues i will take the keys and get going with HP tuners! Thank for the video and helpful information.
I actually didn't need a speed limiter when I was 16 to 18 years old I drove like a grandma and they were not available back then. At 43 i probably need one more than ever. Sometimes I love to push that throttle past 100 mph on some of our straight quieter Interstates.
I think that 70 isn’t a good limit as there are highways where the limit is 80. I think 90 or 95 makes a little more sense, and as for the rev limiter if you need to speed up to avoid an accident, these little V6’s only make power in the high rpm’s, so I can understand limiting the revs when in park or reverse or neutral to save the engine, but I think that you shouldn’t have the limiter on while driving when it needs to rev to 6300RPMs to make power
People need to stop giving this man crap over this speed limit. Because I’m about to do the same thing to mine when he turns 16 . I’ll raise the speed limit up every year . What kind of tuner is this ?
Hey Travis I like what you did with that HP tuner. Technology can be great and I would have done the same thing. Lol its going to be funny if he questions you about this! I'm sure he knows his dad. As always thanks for all the great videos you drop.
Damn, what if he has a premonition, like on final destination, and needs to go 86 to get passed the logs rolling off the truck, but dad done messed it up lol
I assume a dealer could do this being that I don't have a HP tuner? We're looking to limit my wifes mother. She runs 90-100 mph with a 2014 Equinox we gave her. Plus she's on our insurance.
And this is why we see the mustang memes. Cuz people finally get there hands on a powerful car and they never experienced any type of quickness or hard hitting torq so they spin out. I can see why but let the kid live and learn… but not my kid everyone has their own types of raising a child. I do respect tho wanting to keep your child safe. But also….. lame lol
I get the added safety, and wanting to keep the motor together but man don’t make this kid be “that guy” that does 70 on the dot he won’t be able to pass semis, you ever had to follow two swift drivers at 65 for 10 miles? And if it’s set at 80 and he asks why it won’t go any faster you have a good reason to question why he was going that fast!
70 really?? What is he needs to pass an 18 wheeler running 69 on the highway. Sometimes not having the ability to speed up can be more dangerous. Just have a talk with him about driving. Or else when he dies get a fast car he’s gonna be a wild man. My dad gave me 100 bucks for every year I didn’t get a ticket.

Yeah it is definitely a good way to keep a little control
But anyone know of a tune so my 93 grand cherokee 5.2 so i can change the rpm limiter
When he says something, you will know he was trying to speed.
Exactly
Can’t blame you when it comes to my kids either great video
Thank you Daniel. Just makes me feel better about the situation

Some kids don't
Man I’d hate if a G8 got totaled out 😅 these are one of my dream cars, good thinking!
Thank you. Hopefully it won't
I'd love to see his reaction when he finds out that you limited the speed.
Ye, he gonna overtake miss calculate and will be in need for 90mph but hes car will cut out at 70, will be to late to back off and crash rip
Lol
Thank you for sharing this. Entirely possible that you will save someone’s life with this information.
I thought it would help him get use to it first

Its sold now but the roads he was on around here were 60
@@TWAMotorsportstell me u don’t still speed limit him
No but can if needed
Been a while since I bought any credits, did HPT raise the price? For some reason I felt like I spent $50.00 for 2 credits on the last vehicle I tuned
49 per for as long as I remember
@@TWAMotorsports Maybe my age is catching up with me and my memory is slipping 😆
Mine too
In order to change the speed and rev limiter to normal do you have to do the same thing?
Yes. Just in reverse
Great tutorial
Thank you

Hp tuners
Made a video so now he can sneak your laptop and reverse the process.😂
No way he could figure that out
Exactly what hardware do I need apart from the laptop? ..
Hp tuners
@@TWAMotorsports Thanks. But I saw now they dont have the service for my Suzuki Swift.
Probably not
When he finally realizes this, his face is going to be priceless 🤣🤣
Lol. That's true
My jackass brother is Snapchatting himself. hitting 120 mph in his civic he’s getting one of these ASAP
Lol

I bet if I put that on my wife's vehicle I'd get a phone call right quick... 🤣 ✌
Lol. Try it
@@TWAMotorsports l'm still thinking about that one 🤔!!! ✌️
Lol
does the car computer need to be unlocked for this to be done?
No
Your teen will definitely have trust issues as soon as he discovers that you don't trust him in spite of assuring him that he's a good driver.
I don't really care. My job is to keep him alive while he learns.
@@TWAMotorsports a whole.year has passed and he still learns? Does the speed limitor still remain?
Nope. He has moved on to faster cars
😂😂😂😂@@TWAMotorsports
Good Thursday evening Travis I'm just getting home from work and going to have dinner with my wife and catch your video
Thanks Keith. Have a great night

Nice now show us how to remove governor speed limitor and we will make deal
I don't need deal

Ya 😂 that’s why I’m here to keep my kid safe yes definitely not the trying to bypass the speed limiter lol definitely
Either way
I don’t have a kid but this does seem like a good idea. I much more concerned with distractions like cellphones and stuff
True. You can get a phone jammer

He doesn't drive in areas over 60 mph zones.
You also don't need to spend ''credits'' to do that shit, just buy a ob2 cable and get a software
Not sure you have ever done this from the way you describe the process.
I hope my parents don't see this haha besides I know how to remove it 😅
Lol
Man he did that boy wrong 😂
When he buys his own he can decide. Lol
👍👍👍👍
Make sure he has the st John 3:16- insurance too.
👌
Thank you
And then he watches daddy's vid and unlocks it
Nope
Hi dad, I found the video!!
👍
Take them damn gloves off. Lol
I was working on other stuff as I was filming

L dad, you shoulda just bought him a Honda 😂
He didn't want a Honda
If you’re giving him what he wants then why limit it
