And when you fly to Hawaii they make you dispense all your food train burgers in a little bin so it doesn’t disrupt the burger wildlife found on the archipelago. The rare Hawaiian burger trees rely on a high-sexy robot soil content to survive, and nonnative Ruffalo bot varieties could end up Hulk-Smashing the only source of food on America’s most remote state.

It is absolutely cutting, for one reason: He walked to the front of line, and asked a random stranger to order for him. The *only* difference is now *they* have to sit there and order his food, instead of him. Sure, the line isn't physically longer, but your order still takes more or less the same amount of time. You're just paying someone to cut for you.

I think it would but I also think no one would care because cutting is less egregious if someone seems to have been saving a spot for you. And like, if you walk up and ask your friend to get you something passersby may assume said friend was already going to get you something and you're just specifying. No time added. But if you ask a stranger time is definitely being added therefore you're definitely cutting

For me, the fact that they were moderating panels puts it into a different light. If they were just some rando enjoying a convention, then yeah I think it would be wrong. But they had a job to do but also needed to eat, so in this case it's fine, imo.
See whatcha do is, you get someone to wait in line *for* you. Maybe pay for their food too. Then you go to your panel, and they bring you your food and you eat it during the panel. It would be a story people tell for years to come.

In the original question I do think that's cutting in line because you're essentially paying to get an advantage over others. It's like you're bribing somebody to let you cut in line. Also unrelated I now live in fear of the idea of food train
In the original question, the actual evil thing that's being done is by the con not arranging for expositors to be fed. Cutting in line is bad, but in that case the person might have lost money if they didn't buy food in a timely manner (if they were manning a booth that sold stuff, for instance). OP says that they were moderating panels, so if they were doing it for the con one can say they were expected to starve for the sake of keeping the con presentable.

@@flaetsbnort You seem too focused on the person who did it and not focused enough on the people it affected. I mean I get the guy is in a hurry, but I bet there are other people in line who were also in a hurry. I'm not saying the guy's a dick for doing this once, but not everybody has the money to do this kind of thing, so if this became widespread it would end up with a bunch of people waiting in a longer line that lets people who have extra money just skip to the front.

@@Vegas242 Its capitalism, you are saying "my money is worth more than everyone elses time" so i see it as bad because its unfair to the people waiting in line who either dont have the money to pay someone ahead of them, or now have to wait longer because multiple people in front of them are now ordering way more food.
What they need to do is find someone to go wait in line *for* them, and bring them the food, at their panel, when it is ready. I have never been at a Con where "omg I have to eat now" would be the tinest problem, and probably endear them to the crowd.

Wait I just had a genius idea- a set of trains that rotate every week and wherever they stop in the city- local grocery stores and pantries can drop off food that’s about to expire and while the train is there, they can pass out food from the previous towns to people who need it. Isn’t the stereotype place for homeless people around the train tracks?

I love how none of the brothers go with the logical thing which is..... maybe if the question asker knew they were working panels and were quite busy perhaps they should have brought food and snacks. That way they are insured to have food and drinks during the small breaks.
