This video shows 10 facts about the gentle, funny and loyal personality of my Japanese Akita named Yuki.
Please note that all facts in this video only apply to Yuki.

Before we even adopted her, I called my Japanese Akita a 姫, simply because Akitas used to be owned by royalty. Now I call her "Princess Toot Toot" since she farts...a lot. And they're quite stinky.

My Japanese Akita, Hachi, doesn't like slippery laminate floors. Instead of walking on them he lies on his stomach and "swim crawls" to get across the floor. 😂

Definitely a big dog thing. My grandparents’ old Great Pyrenees stopped going in their house cause they got hardwood. He eventually slipped and hurt himself bad on the slippery deck.... 🙁

I haven't got an Akita but i do have a Wooly (longhaired) Shiba. His name is Yone and is as handsome, cute and naughty as Yuki 🥰
My puppy is the same too, but he's okay with us touching his front paws, back paws are sometimes. And my akita only barks when there's visitors he likes greeting them. Akitas are beautiful and amazing 🐕🐶

I plan on buying for my dog IDC Powerharness from Julius-k9, and also ordering custom velcro patches, and adding the breed picture to the patch, like you did.
But, I don't think I can order that from Julius-k9 website.

It was an amazing video, thank you very much. Most of the things are the same with my akita. he is almost 5 months, his name is Dojo but he has the same mimics, same some reactions and sleeping position, personality etc. when i watch yuki i feel like i am watching my dog with the time machine. well ... I hope:))) (he will be happy as yuki is) . 1 fact about my akita while we are walking he suddenly stops and shows me with his head where he wants go . sometimes we go from his route sometimes i forced him from my route. what do you recommend about this kind of thing? how should i react??
Don't let him pull the leash too much. When he pulls, you stop and wait until he calms down. Then it's up to you in which direction you want to go and he eventually learns that you are leading the route.

Omg this akita acting exactly like my Akita Duman....my Akita never barking ..he just do when he scary..but akita doesn’t scare any dogs of animals ,,,and he is very friendly .. he doesn’t like bring back the ball ,he doesn’t come when i call him. He just acting like he is the bos. hahahha haha

I had a dog that used to always have to touch me if she was asleep and she was also a very protective dog which I'm told your type of dog is also so if your dog is like mine I would say she puts her paw on you to know if you leave or not as my dog would wake up if I moved out if the room.

They put their feet on you for the same reason that they will sleep on your feet, if necessary. It's to keep track of you. If you get up to leave, they rare then alerted. They want to keep the pack together. It's a dog thing.

Thank you for sharing, our American Akita is just like yours. One difference ours can tell the time at 8.50 pm she cuddles up to my wife for a neck massage and then at nine pm goes into the kitchen for her good night snack. We love her and by the comments we get on our daily walks so do everybody else. What a beautiful and loving animal she is. Ps she has over 20 different collars and each week we let her pick the collar she wants, she loves her Disney ones the best.
Hi! I will have a baby Akita Inu in 2 months!! I wanted to ask you. Do you have any specific tips on how to socialize them properly? Everyone says these dogs are impossible to train and deal with...
Introduce your dog to other dogs as soon as you can. Akitas can be stubborn sometimes but it's only temporary and can be avoided by being a consistent and patient leader from the beginning. Good luck!

Mein Akita Welpe hat einen Stollen (500g) gegessen. Das schlimme daran ist, dass da drinnen so viele Rosinen sind (die sind sehr giftig für Hunde).Aber erstaunlicher weise ging es ihm danach so gut wie immer, auch noch Wochen später.Dann haben wir gegoogelt und es gibt wohl Hunde, die das vertragen (kommt nichts auf die Rasse an, sondern auf den Hund selbst).
Interessant! Man lernt immer dazu 🤓

I have a problem, i want to get an akita as a 15 year old with my father. We heard on the internet that they can be very dangerous even with good training. We were wondering is there any way we can train our akita inu to be friendly with strangers and new dogs?
