Hey Mathil, I have a jewel with 4% attack speed, knockback, life and ignite chance. What do you think it's worth? Pls I need an accurate price quickly my cat is on fire.
If you actually looked at poe.trade's search page you could know all of this. It's all in front of you and doesn't require any hidden knowledge, only reading for 1 minute.
Demetori 〈3 not that with the and/not/count/sum/if its not obvious at all and you have no clue what this slider even does without looking into a wiki or turorial
Oh, wow, that's so much effort, holy shit. I told you, it would take you around 1 minute to figure what the search is capable of. Is clicking stuff for a minute to check out what's what and be more knowledgeable about what you're using too much?
Best tip about jewels: don't craft them, but stay 24/7 checking poe.trade for sweet deals. Also life, all resists, energy shield, energy shield recovery, mana on hit, mana leech, life leech, specific attack speed, generic damage/physical damage are the best things. Maybe some stats for tight builds that have no other alternatives.
Nice! I didn't know Jewels were not level based. That is probably the most useful thing I learned here! I've been expecting that I would find a higher level one and trade it out so I haven't paid much attention to jewels.
Jewels have been the one trading block that hasn't been fully exploited yet. You can get some boss jewels for next to nothing but hopefully this video will put a bit more interest in the markets so we get more options available.
ey, the start of the video in the background(1:15), u had a marauder skill tree, is that a "version" of a ignite burning arrow with the new bow? if yes are you going to make a char like that ( if you haven't already, and sorry if i missed that) and showcase it , i am interested in making a bow char soonish, and need some crazy ideas. p.s. thanks for the jewel explanation, this helped alot ! :P Cheers
I do have a newbie question, or I guess it's a noob question, but I'll ask anyway ;) When we're leveling, when do we put passive point in jewel ? What i mean, is how good jewel are regarding the leveling and the caracter power ? For now, I never took those points, thinking, I'll put passive point in late game, when i will have really good jewel or so, but in fact i never use them ^^ so i guess i missing something? should i investe point as soon as i can ? or it's okey so reserve them for late game ?
Hey Mathil, very nice video, I think alot of people caught on to some of the pointers you gave about passive node worth. If playing a Blade Flurry Raider, is it still worth it to get Death's Hand instead of just going double bino? I dropped one, and i can't decide whether to sell it or keep it.
There is no point in using 2 binos over a statstick. Use the better bino's + a statstick and you always will end up with more dmg. Even if you use a bad one.
Mathil, what is your opinion for self found players? Is it worth it then to use your currency to roll jewels or would you stick to getting as many good notables on the tree?
It is not. I play selffound for 3 leagues now and you should only use jewels you find. Its realy realy not worth to put currency in other stuff than your gear.
Hi, thanks for this guide. It helped me a lot today. I only have one problem and hope somebody could help me: I have a jewel with 6% increased Attack Speed with One Handed Melee Weapons and 3% increased Attack and Cast Speed but I do not know how to compare it with other attack speed jewels as I can't find anything with this properties. It also has 7% increased maximum Life and +11% to Fire and Cold Resistances. Does it make it bad as it only has 2 dmg properties and two life properties and not three of a kind (as mentioned in the video) or is "two of both kinds" still something good? Sorry if I do not get something but I am new to trading, until now I only played self found and now I want to get some better items to get deeper into maps.
Anyone else thinks jewels need rework? For instance, bow users can't have good energy shield jewels, since its not possible to roll either ES on viridian nor IASbow (5-8% range) on cobalt.
hello dear friends, there is one thing i dont understand in the game (maybe im just terrible in english but still :) Mathil is talking about double dping and it seems about the thing i want an answer for: why, when i play scorching ray, let s say as an example : 30% more damages over time , is WAY syronger than increased burning damages ( in this example let s say 50+%) may someone explain me so that i can understand and not bein rude, thanks from france by advance :)
Burn Damage Passives and Mods can buff the damage from Ignite and Burn DoT skills (though this wont show on the tooltip). Hope that helped, you filthy frogeater.
Tonton Zilean what you are talking is not double dipping, it is the difference between "increased" and "more". I'll explain double dipping here but if you search in the wiki (pathofexile.gamepedia.com) about increases and mores you will get a way more detailed info. So, double dipping. This happens when you generate a secondary effect when you hit, aka bleed poison and burn. You increase your damage by an amount when you hit. Let's say your increases are (X+Y), where Y is the double dipping part (spell damage affects the initial hit, but fire and elemental damage affects both the hit and the burn). So, you do a hit H. The damage is actually H*(X+Y). You are lucky and you proc a burn, which is 20% of the initial hit per second for 5 seconds. So 0,2*H*(X+Y). However, this damage is also scaled by Y, since it double dips, and the actual damage of the burn is 0,2*H*(X+Y)*Y per second for 4 seconds. This in many cases is as high as the initial hit or more. With strong double dipping and poison, you can make the poison to triple or more the damage of the initial hit. So you are basically doing 5 times the damage you would make without poison. I hope it is manageable the to understand. Maybe there is a page of it in the wiki too, check it out.

Only playing SF I can attest to the inefficiency of rolling your own jewels but dam that feeling when ya roll a perfect 4 property from magic all the way to using an exalt.... feels gud mon~ I'm in the process of rolling all 5 of my jewels now in breach..... 0/5 4 property jewels but at least I found a 7 link helm =P that fit my build perfectly shame about that blind though.... no one likes you level 6 blind... go away~ (I actually like lvl 6 blind but don't tell it that)
cast speed is way more important than damage flameblast is one of the hardest hitting skills in the game, you don't need a ton of damage to make it work.
+An1mu +An1mu not need, but it is nice to have. T1 cast speed T2 fire dmg (not use if that is the only one double dipping. Definitely everything that double dips in T2.) T3 spell dmg, area dmg, es, life,... Everything that doesn't double dip and critical defences like life if life based and es if es based. Block, recovery, res and other stats don't make the cut.
The elegant "Leave me the fuck alone with your price checks" at the end.
that filter below "count" was exactly what i looking for, ty Mathil.
Hey Mathil, I have a jewel with 4% attack speed, knockback, life and ignite chance. What do you think it's worth? Pls I need an accurate price quickly my cat is on fire.
Cat on fire? sounds like chaos to me ;)
Omg, what a scrublord. I bet you are stuck at Brutus normal mode. Maybe I'll give you a Fencoil for free, cause I feel sorry for n3wbs.
You need the popsicle solution, jam a stick up its arse and shove it in the freezer.
Thank you! Such good info for a filthy casual like me.
what a fucking god you are mathil, your knowledge of the game always impresses me
this was needed on my side! its always nice to get your insightful info! u the man
Absolutely brilliant guide to selecting relevant jewels! Thanks!
awesome guide, jewels are one of the most difficult things to judge. this makes it a bit easier so thank you!
man, if i only knew earlier that you can adjust poetrade so good lol, thanks for the vid!

Yes you do? When you select one of the options it says right next to it what it does.
well, thats only when you start klicking randomly around and start selecting other things in the slider when it starts explaining stuff

Really great and informative video Mathil! Appreciated mate!
Mathil is like the ancient one.

Thanks very much, great info for a rank amateur like me. I needed this!

It was impossible to look for jewels before this video.
Nice vid Mathil, puts more weight on jewels than I had previously considered.

Thanks a lot for the guide. Helped out quite a lot
AWESOME you answered my question @ 3:19 Hail thank you!
Mathil man, some of us plebs can't afford to watch your stream all the time, would really like some sort of QnA video.

Hey Mathil, what kind of jewels should I be looking for on my 75% block chance Juggernaut :^)
Hey Mathil may I ask what weapon effect you're using in the video thx ? ;)
Thank you heaps for the video, very helpful. Btw cobalt is pronounced co-bolt.
But what bandits do I use? Haha is the bandit video next mathil?
do you stream when you record video like that ? :)
Awesome, Gr8 info
I"m sure you've answered this elsewhere, but the passive skill tree that calculates all modifiers I see you using. where do you get that?
"poe (skill tree / build) planner"
Google either of that, it will link you to a github piece of code you can download, extract and run.
thanks :)
thanks Mathil now I don't have to ask my favorite streamer raizqt for advice!! :^)
thanks, this was very helpful =D
Damn, thank you jewels had me so confused :)
B-but I wanna ask my favorite streamer all the time
Yeah I won't stop asking Ziggy

What is the name of the character builder he is using in his vids?
Really helpful!

What bandits for this build? Kappa
good info but a look at unique jewels would have been nice
good stuff!
100% sure mathil made this vid so people would stop spamming him for price checks on jewels
Poe Wiki link, In case some one want to check it: pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Jewel
Wow, didn't know you could filter all that with poetrade
any chance you can make an updated crafting guide?
Great,more ppl flipping jewels!!

area damage, fire damage for double dip, then spell damage

flameblast is one of the hardest hitting skills in the game, you don't need a ton of damage to make it work.

+An1mu +An1mu not need, but it is nice to have.

+Nathanael Forlorn *not sure (!) if only one that double dips
New phone, who dis?
Video gets really interesting when you are hearing "jew" instead of "jewel" in your head....i'll show myself the door.
I read jews instead of jewels
mostly basics but I guess there are not any other tricks.
Please stop using Karuis Scepter, prices going crazy high! ;/
