How to set up duplex (double-sided) printing

- This instruction is relevant to Epson printers with no auto duplex (double-sided) function. The Epson EcoTank ET-2810 is used in this video, but for other printers the steps may vary, so please refer to your manual.

Interesting how this video is put out in 2023, double sided printing has been a standard for 10 years
Uhm double sided printing (and writing) has been the norm for CENTURIES.. why would you waste the other side when the paper was so expensive
I have the Epson L810 and *sometimes* the printer prints all pages at once, ignoring the double-sided setup. I checked this again and again when it happened, so it's not a mistake of mine.
For PDF documents printing: Print all uneven pages first, then take the papers, turn 180 deg, put into input, then print all even pages IN REVERSE ORDER (Under "Print Range," check the box that says "Reverse Pages.")

I have the Epson ET2850 and discovered it doesn't do borderless double-sided printing. Wish I still had my Epson Photosmart.
Hi, I’m currently doing an art project with Epson printer and I need duplex printing for it. But, as I’m printing I can’t seem to allign the front with the back page. While it is duplex but the allignment of it were slightly or sometime missed. Can you help?
I'm having the same problem. I have developed a game for charity, but it won't print properly. I need it printed by Friday.
@@kerryevans7283 go to Printer Properties >> 2-Sided Printing >> [Manual [Long Edge Binding] >> click Settings >> (you can set the front and back margin)
Note: This setting depends on the printer model. Mine is Epson L5190
it is better to print odd pages first. then put all pages back and print even pages from other sides.
The options greyed out and the dialogue looks nothing like this
You skip over the most important part, and that is the orientation of the paper when reinserting it into the document feeder. If it were not for the brief few seconds of video I would none the wise. This is really the worst feature of this model is the inadequate explanation, which should appear on the panel with orientation guide

If you want to access the print tab menu, Most software applications have a "File" menu where you can find printing functionalities. Look for options like "Print," "Print Preview," or "Print Setup" within the File menu. Clicking on these options will bring up a window with various printing settings you can adjust.

Ok, then let someone explain to me what is this DUPLEX???? Because you can take out a printed sheet of paper and put it in again with the reverse side, you can do it on ANY PRINTER IN THE WORLD, what is it supposed to be about here, what is unusual about it?

Manual Duplexing is used to automate(partially in this case) the process of double sided printing where you want your document to appear in a sequential manner on both pages of the paper into a single print job . Automatic Duplexing would also flip the pages as it prints.
While you can also accomplish this manually this by separating the print job into odd and even pages using the duplexing function even in its manual form allows you(and others)to queue multiple documents for printing without risking mixups from happening nor will you have to watch the progress of your current print job to know whether its time to flip the page as the printer will pause and notify you when its time to do so leaving you time for other things to do.
Not sure if Epson also does this but the duplex option has settings to adjust printouts to take into account pages being stapled together. On dye+pigment black canon printers this also reduces the use of pigment black ink to reduce text bleed through at the expense of greyer looking black text.
What to do when print in large scale, 200 pages? It is not possible to stop for each page wait for pop up, turn and insert page again, is there a way to simplify this task?

Print all the even pages then print all the odd pages on the other side. Just test a sheet to make sure you know which way to rotate the sheets to get correct orientation.
I tried printing even pages. Although the pages are almost identical, they won't line up.
Then choose the option... Print all odd pages... After printing odd pages, Select the option print all even pages. Then turn the side of the paper bundle and print again..thats it.. your duplex printing is done

Why not just state that? This is misleading practice.

Hi there, duplex can be both manual or automatic. Manual refers to the software telling the printer to pause and the user manually having to turn the paper. Automatic is the printer automatically turning the media.

This sucks. Do this for a few thousand double sided pages. Oh boy.

where are these settings? i can't find them
The example software used is using Microsoft Word, but with any application you use to print it will allow you to select double sided printing

Why is it that my XP760 Epson printer has automatic duplex printing for A4 paper but then informs me that it can not do that for A5..?

This is possibly the worst printer I have ever purchased. All the hype and it just doesn’t perform. Absolute garbage

This is trying to put a happy face on a pumpkin. Nobody except someone with time to waste or an econut (same thing as a person with time to waste) is going to stand in front of a printer flipping pages. I bought this printer expecting proper duplex printing to be the norm and was disappointed to find it isn't.
Nice enough a printer without this deficiency.
