First of all, thanks for this video. I was planning on doing something similar to expose Dangerfox and keep other people away from them. Now there is no need, you did a great job. I ordered my desk on April 2023 still yet not received it almost a year later. I was told I was next in line like 5 times and that my desk was ready 3 times Lmao STAY AWAY FROM DANGERFOX!
@@pitsbergproductions please, do not buy from them. Dangerfox just had (6) 5 stars reviews on google in the same day. It is clearly his friends trying to overtake the bad reputation. If you go in their route, buy it through Sweetwater. They will for sure delivery in timely manner, they don't wanna lose business with SW.
Thanks for this video, Justin. I ordered the 16U back in June of 23 and still waiting. Like everyone else… unanswered emails, no correspondence on social… extremely frustrating experience. This video was a breath of fresh air and has helped kinda reset the clock. I’m 9 months in and I’m just planning to wait it out. Alongside the desk, I ordered a ton of new racks… compressors, EQs, etc… can’t really use any of it until the desk shows up, unfortunately. But at least now, I feel bonded to a community in my misery 😂
As of this month I’ve waited a year for my desk to show up and have been given many false promises since last summer. I was told my desk was being made numerous times but never was. As of Jan I lost my patience and had the credit card company refund me the money back. It’s a real shame this happened as the desks are amazing but the company’s logistics are terrible and the overall experience for me was very negative.
Dude that sucks so much man. Im currently trying to cancel mine as well. But beforehand i have a friend that works at vintage king. I noticed that dangerfox is sold on vk and sweetwater. Im wondering if you buy through them they will be a bit more communicative bc of the fact they probably dont want to burn their bridges with these vendors.
I’m in the same boat. Dec 30th will make a year. I sent them an email today for an update and their support email bounced back!!!!! Their webpage is still up and running. I reached out to my guy at sweetwater to see if there’s any assistance I can get from them even though I bought it directly from Dangerfox. This is utterly ridiculous!!!!!
I complained in your original video. Took 8 months, if I knew that was the case and didn’t get ignored it wouldn’t have been an issue. Really poor job setting customer expectations especially when they have all your money. The desk is great and I am very happy with it. The earlier versions of the desk had the table top inset so a UF8 sat flush with the armrest. Mine did not come that way which is disappointing but I’ve worked around it. If you know what you want and are willing to wait it’s a nice desk. Maybe ordering through Sweetwater and not direct would be helpful.
That insert was a feature I was really looking forward to when I ordered but I think it was removed to save on cost. I am not sure how much sturdier the desk was with that insert. The new version I have without the insert feels weaker with the board bowing as you rest your arms on the desk. It needs more support in the middle.
I completely agree. Their products speak for themselves and so does their customer service. At some point it will catch up with them if they don't course correct. I hope they will. I am not sure why they stopped including the insert? It definitely makes a difference.Seems like a weird corner to cut? Thanks for the feedback Peter!
You wait 8 months, it finally arrives and you realize you can’t inset the UF8, which was the intention of buying the desk. So the choice is deal with it or potentially wait months for something else. I’ve also waited long undefined periods for other gear. My lesson is never order something that’s not an out of stock order and give them all the money. Never again. They also put a cutout in the keyboard draw, which I’d rather not have and they didn’t take the time to finish the edge. I like the desk, I’d never recommend it to anyone though.
Your cap made me subscribe. 😄 Great nod to a great band. Then I stayed for the video and I'm going to explore your channel more as this one was great already. Good job !
Hey, Justin, You know me. I was one of those that really complained about Dangerfox. I like my Dangerfox but there are some issues with my desk. When I got my desk there have been changes to some parts of the desk. These changes I feel were short cuts to make the desk cheaper to make and made the desk less sturdy. 1 the back shelf on my desk does not have a pipe like fixture to hold up the shelf like prior desk versions I seen online. Instead I got this triangle looking piece to hold up the back shelf. 2. The front part of the desk is less sturdy where the hand rail is. Previous versions I have seen had like a hand rail then another piece that got set into the desk. Mine is just one piece and bows when you rest your hands on the hand rail. I also do not like the huge gap between flat part of hand rail shelf meets the front part of the rack. Between that gap and the bowing when you simply rest your hands to me is a huge issue. Overall I would not wait the 8 months or so like I did to get this desk. There are now many other choices out there. Please note that Sweetwater now sells Dangerfox desks. I am not sure on how they are handling their orders but my experience getting this desk was terrible!!!
The metal pipe on the back was changed to be made in-house instead of ordering those elsewhere because of supply issues finding the metal pipe support thing. The wood support is just as sturdy though lol
@@sparesun The front shelf defiantly needs a support in the middle to stop the bowing when resting your arms on the hand rest and the gap between that board and the actual rack needs to have better tolerance. I now have had the desk for just over a year. Overall the big frustration was being told 10-12 weeks estimate lead time for the desk. That was estimate turned into an over 8 month ordeal with lack of communication from Dangerfox about the status of the desk and worrying that I was not going to see my money or the desk with Dangerfox having free use of all my funds for the desk with nothing to show for it. Overall I like the product. I know you may not like what I said but I am hoping service improves and that others can have a better experience. I do know that Dangerfox had given very big preferences to TH-camrs over customers. I watched several of them get brand new products within weeks or days while I and others continued to wait for their desk. That is something to think about. I hope the customer service improves.
Hey buddy! I was hoping to get your feedback. I hear you on all accounts. I am not sure what the deal is with the redesigns that make the desk less functional and sturdy. That seems weird. I am also curious to see how things go now that they're on Sweetwater? Cheers!
You can find those pipe fittings at Lowe’s (not home depot). I didn’t use that POS wood version because it was directly centered in the desk where i wanted to drill the hole for computer monitor mounts. I ended up adding 4 sets of pipes on the back because it was SO weak and 2 sets on the front side because i could tell with a little pressure you’d break the arm rest.
I keep looking at the desk hoping the ssl controllers will fit in the front channel. I see you have a UF8 in the rack space. I have the 3 main ssl pieces that I’d want in front of the racks. Do you think they will fit? Dangerfox said yea a few months ago but have been unable to provide a picture.
The desk should be perfectly wide and tall enough to accommodate the SSL controllers. The insert that they're referring to raises the height of the table top. Not sure why they stopped making them with the insert? Cheers!
There are companies like Argosy and RAB that make some cool stuff, but I haven't found one with quite the fit and finish of the Dangerfox desks. From a vibe standpoint they're a notch above, imo. Cheers!
Man, for the price, I can get a custom desk from a local hi-end furniture maker using local hardwoods for just a touch more in a fraction of the time. Time is money, and it’s not refundable. Six months for a commercial, non-custom furniture product is absolutely ridiculous. They aren’t ready for prime time. Scale up their labor and then I’ll consider them.
You present a great argument. I love my desk and am very glad I got it, but I would struggle to make that decision again knowing what my previous experience was and what others have shared. The design is everything, and that is where they are doing amazing work. Cheers!
Hey Justin, I ordered my 24U table exactly a year ago and it was delivered today. I'll put it together next week. First of all, I think Dangerfox and their tables are great and unique. I can imagine that they are simply overwhelmed. I really have a lot of understanding. However, if I pay the full amount and then no longer receive any information, that's bad. I really expected that the money would be gone and I would never see the table. A number of emails were not answered as you say. It's really a shame that the customer service is so bad for such a great product. Of course I'm happy that the table has arrived, but I wouldn't order anything there again because it wasn't a good feeling to live in uncertainty for a year.
Hey PAT! Hit me back once you get your desk put together, I'd love to here your first impressions. A YEAR!? Man that's a long time to wait. What was the lead time you were told when ordering it? I am right there with you on the Dangerfox products vs customer service. It's perplexing how one thing can be so great while the other so awful! Cheers!
@@justinbrogdon Hey Justin... I put the table together today. It was really very simple and worked without any problems. took an hour. the workmanship is great. Unfortunately there were several scratches, but I almost got rid of them all. A delivery time of 8-10 weeks was planned. However, when I ordered, I also wrote to Dangerfox that I wouldn't need the table until October because my studio was still under construction. Dangerfox said it wasn't a problem at all. My studio has been finished since October, so I now had to wait an extra 4 months. I thought I had planned far enough in advance. I ordered the old version of the 24U and have now received the new version, even though they specifically asked me in July last year whether it would stay with the old version. In summary, I think there is no table on the market that looks cooler according to my taste. The workmanship isn't perfect but it's good and it's very easy to put together. the price is already high. Unfortunately the customer service is very poor. Pity. I come from Germany, for those who come from America I would recommend ordering from Sweetwater and being patient. Many greetings Patrick
I liked the desk, but not the price. So i got a circular saw and some clamps and built a knockoff. $80 for the saw, and about $200 in wood. It is a simple construction, but very thoughtful on design. I use the center bay for my console... It sits on a custom table top instead of the rack rails.
That's awesome man! The Dangerfox price point is not cheap these days, and the wait time are crazy. Do what works! Congrats on the new desk setup. Cheers!
I love my dangerfox BUT I GOT IT USED. A friend liked it so much he purchased one new, and it's taken a year. That's insane and I personally am angry on his behalf. He was told may white lies along the way of why it is taken so long, including something crazy about a photo shoot delay that scratched his desk, etc. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because half of my stuff is Stam Audio and Dangerfox.
I looked for used ones myself, that would be the way to go! The hurry up and wait game is pretty brutal and the lack of transparency in the production process is mind melting. Glad I am done with it. Really hoping they pull it together. Cheers!
Ordered the same desk in March of 23 and it took til July of 24 to ship. UPS lost one of the packages and Dangerfox has yet to replace the parts. 18 months from purchasing(paid in full) and I still don't have a functional and complete desk. I would avoid this company at all costs. I tried to believe in the company's vision and a small business, but the core values of customer service are non-existent.
Bruce, I hate that for you man. I love my desk, but I remember all too well what it was like being in waiting limbo and then all of the boxes not showing up and trying to communicate with Dangerfox. Are they responding to your communications?

Curious to know your experience with this.
Correct. I’m in the process of adding my gear and it’s downright maddening (and some of it isnt that large). To the point that most of the gear is no longer in the desk and put into separate racks. It is an absolutely HORRIBLE design. If i knew this i would have not bought it.
