- This lesson explains the basics of biological/ecological pyramids f energy, biomass and numbers. Here you will find simple animated and annotated examples. A very simple and easy lesson to follow.
You will find:
Pyramid of energy
Pyramid of biomass
Pyramid of numbers
Sample food chain
Energy flow in the food chain
For biomass, think about biomass as the total mass of the organism ( total organic matter). Let's say I have a forest with a lot of trees and only goats are living in the forest. For the goats to survive there must be more trees than goats. If you should cut down all the trees and weigh them, they will weigh more the goats put together. For this reason biomass typically decreases going along the food chain.
You got me a 94 on my test. Thank you.
Awesome! Keep doing well.
Thank you!!!
You are welcome.
Our teacher spent a whole lesson on this and I'm syill confused. And your 6 mins video saved me from tomorrow's test.
I am happy I could help. Good luck.
Thanks Mr night
Well done
You are welcome and thank you.
thank you so much
You are welcome.
Great Video!
Thank you.
Thank you!
Have my exam in 3 days.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and good luck.
I still don’t get the pyramid of biomass
But thanks anyway for giving me the details I needed…

Thanks sir… I understand it but what about pyramid of number
@@kareemteniola3634 Great! The numbers of the organism will be given. Construct your food chain as usual. Based on the number of each organism, construct a pyramid with with size of each segment relative to the number of each organism (trophic level).
