Sand Dab Fest off Carlsbad State Beach

What started as a plan to fish deep for rockfish, turned into a sand dab marathon. We just didn’t feel like reeling up a lead weight from deep. The Sand Dab counter was alive as we were pulling them in 2 at a time for a few hours. Eventually the Mackerel took over and we headed in after a fun Sand Dab morning.
