    Where's a good place to collect mussel around Oceanside Pier? Also, ghost shrimp if you have an area. I've never fished Oceanside Pier but would like to give it a shot.

    I’m going to try to get into fishing for croaker with my dad would a high low rig work with like a 18 inch leader and a 2/0 hook I would probably be using shrimp and mackeral as bait. I don’t have any heavy duty rods. I bought a rig that is 60 lb test the leader is 30 but my spool only has 15 pound test would that be fine?

    • @luckyangayen
      @luckyangayen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your rod is fine and that's right switch your main line to 30lbs. Size 2 hook is ok but better if a little smaller and use fish finder rig and for bait open mussel or bloodworm your not gonna catch croaker with mackerel and for shrimp you'll catch croaker but those small one. So if you wanna catch big croaker like 3-5lbs use open mussel or bloodworm. Good luck 👍

      @@luckyangayen yes sir, I thread the ghost shrimp with my with my 4' bait holder hook just like you do, them I snap off their small side claws, and poke the claws with my hook pushing it up to the bait , this is to prevent the ghost shrimp from being cleverly pull off by Sargos and Croakers and slipping off the hook specially when casting of with a hard drop in water from the piers, that is my method, I found out by examining, and looked at the small claws as a bait lock, instead of tying it with string

    You know what burning a fishing spot means? Basically telling the whole world where what and when to catch fish. You burned this spot, please don't burn anymore. This pier is already crowded enough. The affects of this video is going to be profound, trust me. I understand your wanting to help people, but your doing all the work of learning for them. People need to put the work in themselves. Make the video but don't tell where it is. If you watch other successful tube fishing channels they don't say where they are exactly. And the ones that do burn a spot eventually catch shit by other fisherman for doing so. Pacifica is a prime example of one video, turning a place into a zoo, elbo to elbo fishing is no fun for Anybody. Anybody reading this, if your thinking of fishing here, be advised it's crowded as hell. Now if the producer of this video wants to redeem himself , take the video down. Thanks for taking our pier and making it the most over fished pier in San Diego County.

      @@luckyangayen Thank you for your reply, I wasn't expecting that. I don't fish the pier as much as I used to. After the first big hotel was built it's been more crowded. Then the second hotel. The pier has constant fishing pressure. I learned surf fishing and can catch the spotfin croaker and other species you won't catch from the pier. Like Corbina. Honestly I catch more fish now from the sand then from the pier. And it gives me many more places to fish. There was sombody in my fishing club who wrote about this very subject today. Burning fishing spots. The pier is always going to be crowded. Today I saw only one other person fishing. So out of respect for other people that fish where I was today. I don't advertise it. But if someone asked to fish with me that's ok. Anyway good luck on your channel.
