      Chandra NYC - Many ppl do...by choice. It’s called “OMAD” or “One Meal A Day”. They use it to lose weight, reverse, diabetes, and hypertension, as well as other diseases. They will usually eat a meal that is high in nutrition and low in sugar and junk.

I thought of the OMAD movement, too, which happens to be really popular among well-paid tech workers etc, but it goes to show what a privilege it is to make that a lifestyle - they're eating one, large nutrient-dense meal; shopping or ordering from green grocers/delivery systems.

    This is by far one of my favorite Millennial Money Videos. Much respect to this man. He is the epitome of doing a lot with a little. The fact that he tries to save $10,000 per year while only making $25,000 is an amazing accomplishment.
    Jerone, you are a rockstar. Keep up the amazing work. This may seem hypocritical coming from me as I dropped out of college, but honestly bro I think getting that accounting degree could be a great idea. I think your income would double, if not triple, if you got a degree in accounting as well as a CPA license.
    Excellent work, and I'm sure your family is super proud of you.

      I couldn't agree more. I make 4x what he does and still can honestly not say i am anywhere near as good at managing my money or investing like i should. I also live in Loudoun County, VA which has one of the highest median incomes so me making $100k is really normal around here. With that comes the high cost of living though...

      @@Je.rone_ bro I live right here in Baltimore county randallstown md I am familiar with cockeyeville , hunt valley (I know a that’s the county too) area those are good places to live considering some parts of Baltimore city . I want you to win and succeed . You can make a lot of money from the Uber and Lyft too. I am like you I don’t really budget but I have a natural tendency to save money and I am conscious where my money goes. In the past 12 years I have gone from making $11,000 a year to $22,00, $24,000 a year to $40-$48,0000 as a cna with overtime money while trying to finish college luckily for me I could still live at home with parents and only buy food and pay my tuition and my own expenses. I wish you more money and health and wealth you deserve it brother.

      Having watched some "How to be a millionaire" videos. I can say, no, he won't become one, at least not with a normal job or a normal wage. In 30 or 60 years with intelligent investing? Sure, that's doable for many people. But 10 years requires 150k and saving the vast majority of that for ten years.

    This man had 30,000 dollars in student loans and didn't graduate from college. He earns 25,000 dollars a year. And still manages to save 10,000 dollars a year.

    Although the income level is relatable and realistic for many of us, it’s sad to see the struggle. Our entry level to existence shouldn’t be poverty. Also, we’ve normalized and even glorified the broke college lifestyle, but in reality many college students live on the verge of poverty 🥺 hate it

      I'm not sure how he is doing that when he brings in around 1200 a month which goes mostly to his bills. I didnt see any mention of amount going toward savings until the $10,000 was mentioned. So I'm assuming its money he doesn't claim? Where did that extra $1000 a month come from? Uber?

Typically with Millennial Money, they display in the budget chart the amount that goest towards savings, but they didn't provide that in his chart. I'm suspecting its because he hasn't driven Uber and Lyft for a majority of this year, his income decreased so his savings rate was adversely effected and is 0. So maybe prior to the pandemic with Uber and Lyft he was saving $900 a month.

    Saving/investing $10000 on a $25000 salary is actually insane, the majority of people who make 6 figures don’t even put that much money away because people in the US tend to spend at or above their salary level because they feel entitled to it. While he works towards those goals he can become a bookkeeper. Which will allow him to adhance his accounting knowledge while making more then what he is currently making. Yes, bookkeeping doesn't always relate to taxes but that can be his nique to set him apart in the market. Starting a bookkeeping business has a low start up cost and even higher return. He can save up and work towards opening up his own CPA business if he wishes to do so.

      @@Je.rone_ I was once in a very similar situation as yours. I learned how to code and it changed my quality of life drastically. I went from making 15k a year to almost 100k. I would suggest learning python it's one of the easiest languages and its huge in fintech(finance technology). You can apply everything you've taught yourself so far and start making algorithms to make trade decisions or find trends. Best of luck to you!

      He’s correct with advice about python and coding. Please also look into the Per Scholas program for coding. If there is a program located in your area, I think you may qualify. However, there are certain things that I don't need the government to spend money on, such as: a perpetual war in Afghanistan and welfare for illegal aliens. If there can be some creative ways to reduce government spending, we wouldn't need to tax rich people more----or any other class of Americans. One way to save millions of dollars a year would be to make sure dead people don't collect Social Security checks. Also: ending the war on drugs and cutting the military budget in half would save about $500 billion dollars a year. So if the spending gets under control, we'd all benefit with less income taxes and MORE MONEY.💵

    I really enjoyed this video! He seems to be aware of his finances and is trying to increase his wealth through different avenues. That $20K loan gave me a mini heart attack but if he did the calculations right and is confident then who am I to say anything. Nice to see he is knowledgeable about investing and is also trying to break into the real estate industry. He might be only making $25K know but I definitely see a bright future for this guy 🌟

    3 years ago, I was making about 25K too. After switching careers into software engineering, I have now tripled my income.
    Someone is smart as yourself could do well there. From one brother to another, try it out!

    This one just hits different, from the confidence issues from growing up in white suburbia, the health issues, to being a first generation college student. I hope it’s no where but up from here!
    (Also please check out apprenticeships if you really like tech, I’m not sure if finances have them.)

    I hated my early 20s. Got out of the Army and made 23k year. Only had enough money for rent and food. I had a piece of crap car and no insurance. I used to float checks a week ahead. I got pretty good at going to fast food places when they were busy and showing them a receipt I pulled from the trash and tell them I did not get my burger etc. I would call any personal hygene product I had and would make up a complaint to get my next one for free. Have not looked at a paycheck in general in 17 years. Life is so much less stressful that way. This kid will go far.

      If you’re good with math you should go into engineering or tech. Accounting is solid but you don’t have to be good at math, just patient and good with using excel and a calculator. Nonetheless I’m rooting for him
