My first project! Made this as a complete beginner and it turned out great. My edges are not as neat but I guess that will come with practice. For anyone else new, I used a stitch marker at the 10 slip stitch mark and this helped me a lot in keeping track of where I was. Thank you for the tutorial :)

The only thing that really changes is the slipstitches
So you'll need to repeat 10-10 then 5-5 then again 10-10, 5-5... Until you reach the size that you want

I love this hat! But I am so pleased I watched the tutorial to the end before attempting to make it . Maybe a few discrepancies between what you are physically doing and the written words? So I have a few questions.
It says 3.5mm hook, you show a 4.5mm?
You show doing sc at the end of rows 2, 4 and 6 but it says back loop only in all sc?
Should it be repeat rows 1-6 so the top is not so dense, or do you repeat rows 3-6 to keep the pattern constant? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure but when she was holding a 4.5mm you know it's like knitting pin , but when she wrote 3.5 mm crochet hook they might be the same but they have different names
If I'm wrong then I'm sorry just sharing what I know 😊

So for the slip stitches it starts off as 10-10-5-5-10-10 then it says to repeat so does it then go 10-10-5-5-10-10-10-10-5-5 and so on or 10-10-5-5-10-10-5-5ect

I thought that too! I have just commented a couple of questions. I think perhaps by repeating rows 1-6 the top will not be so dense, but I was considering doing repeats of rows 3-6? I will wait and see before making this.
