An Interview with Egyptian President al-Sisi - BBC News

  • Lyse Doucet visits Cairo’s presidential palace for an exclusive interview with Egypt’s new strongman, President Abd-al-Fattah al-Sisi. After spending four decades in the military, he came to power in elections last year after the controversial ousting of the elected Muslim Brotherhood. He says he has a roadmap for democracy. But not everyone is convinced. What are his plans for his own country? What about Egypt’s wider role in the region? And, will the threat from the so-called Islamic State continue to grow?

Ok first off, I absolutely HATE the Mubarak and Sisi comparisons. Mubarak was extremely old and went through everything in his regime. He was taken down because people didnt believe his bullshit. Sisi cracks down on literally everyone who knows anyone who thinks about liking a comment where someone said sisi looked bad in any way. That's the situation people are in right now. So it's not as easy as going in the streets and calling him off again.
Secondly, in which country in which world does someone win by 97% of the votes. If that is not screaming corrupted votes and fake votes, I don't know what is. And even in the extremely slim chance that he actually got 97% of true votes, why is everyone hating him now? And why is he jailing opposite opinions and political opponents if they were only backed by 3%? I could go deeper in the numbers, but I've got some better things to use my mind and time for.

@@norota8188 or do you just have nothing to say against him? the man took the country out of poverty, promoted foreign investments into the country in the form of new companies, real estate especially, and tech. so many of the population have moved from poverty to middle class. the only criticism i have is how discrimination and corruption runs rampant in the ministry of higher education, but thats about it
