    Personally I would always use wire slings to hang my ropes from not endless soft slings especially when near any kind of steel fabricated 90 corner

    @Leander_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is very cool, thanks for sharing! A couple of questions out of interest: is it standard practice to fix your ropes to equipment/infrastructure that's available on the roof, or do buildings sometimes provide 'dedicated' attachment points? Does this 'improvising' ever feel sketchy? I also see you sometimes clipping carabiner-to-carabiner; I suppose this is to avoid triaxial loading of the carabiners?

    • @hoffman411
      @hoffman411  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes often in some cases you must improvise or if it is bad tell clients you cant do the job, but experience helps make such choices. Often you find jobs that are lacking some anchors. Also understanding the strength of the bolts that hold them in place helps. The real world is not perfect like that of the class room. The reason I use carabiner-to-carabiner is it give the sling more of a surface to work with instead of having it bunch up in the smaller part of the carabiner and it is just easier to work with under the load of the ropes.

    What is the thing you used to clip on or tie off your rope protector onto the rope called? That could come in handy..

      Its a croll (the part that allows you to climb) from an old harness when they expire you can harvest parts for this type of use mate

    Hi!
    I watch all your videos!
    I also want to deal with access ropes
    I have seen many videos
    I want to ask you a few questions
    what equipment do you have?
    Which camera do you use on the helmet?
    PS I am waiting for the school to open for access with ropes at height! due to the pandemic are closed!
    I am waiting for any answer
    Thank you George

    • @FalenAnjel2
      @FalenAnjel2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phoenixpharaoh9517 what would you be asking is a round trip? The tech in the video going down the rope? You can ascend the rope or personally to save time just use the elevator or stairs provided.

      @@phoenixpharaoh9517 Ah, ok, well yes techs will do either depnding on what is there, for stuff like this I would take the magic box up to save energy (partly lazy 😆). If say we're back to the offshore gigs, you can't go down so it's a cold climb up if you're outside... in the rain, uuh don't miss it.

    • @hoffman411

      They touch the ground then no need for them, use them if working levels above the ground otherwise they tend to snag on things when pulling them up like fasade structure.
