    Behringer deserve the Nobel Peace price for their services to Synths, their line up of products is amazing

      Only when they stop being shady and ripping off other’s legacy. Products like this are ok because EDP is no longer in business. But the boogerheim as close as it may be is an insult to Tom’s life’s work.

    Sincerely I think we can be so thankful and grateful to Behringer for bring us all these gems...plus at very good price...
    I understand that some people are upset about this brand etc. but hey guys, if Behringer doesn’t make those, how long should we have to wait the original brands to make again these synthesizers? 100 years?? Everybody wants old analogs synths back, but except Sequential (and a very little bit KORG) nobody is doing it...
    So personally I’m so thankful to this brand.
    Plus I’m sure at 100% if even the original brands start to make again the same synths than Behringer did, the original brands will sell them very very well, even at high prices... EVERYBODY will be happy to see exact same old synths again on market, brand new...
    To be honest I even don’t understand at all why original brands doesn’t do it, the want is so crazy high...🤷‍♂️

    It seems worth mentioning that it only has a 3 octave range, from the keyboard... Did I miss that part? I'll watch it again, later.
    Do you notice a pop or glitch playing between C and B, on shorter footages with the filter open more (4' and especially 2') other than the ones at the top of its range?

    • @TheSynthnut
      @TheSynthnut 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original had the same limitation. I have a Wasp controlled by a Kenton Pro4 and the oscillators are digitally controlled from the Kenton with a modified KADI bus. The original Wasp was very laggy on the triggering too. Sounds like a beast though and Behringer have seemingly done a pretty good job here.

    • @TooSlowTube
      @TooSlowTube 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheSynthnut Yes, I've read a little bit about the original. The three octave range on the keyboard was one of the first things I noticed, when i got one. People wouldn't necessarily expect that. I know I didn't.
      I appreciate it's like that because the original was like that, and they'd have had to change more of the design to get more range.
      I find the C/B pop or glitch more frustrating, because it limits my use of the 4' and 2' settings of the oscillators. The lower ranges sound good though.
      I had to look up KADI bus - and found lots of details about bus routes in India. I found the right sort of KADI in the end though :) I didn't know Kenton had dedicated support for Wasps.

    The great master of the Wasp synth is "Alexander Robotnick" particulary when in duo forming "The Analog Session". If you like psychedelic techno and analog sound, you should check out the "Alexander Robotnick" channel, and for example the song "Ascension" is a great example of Wasp use (here is not the deluxe model, it is the old original model, pretty beat up !!!).

      Oh yeah, I know him! He's great and I'm from the same region where he's from. I hope to be able to meet him one day.

    @ years late but this thing still sounds really good! one thing I got a question about. It doesnt have a "Release" in the envelope section. Seems like I heard the "Decay" (amplifier envelope) sound like it was working in the same way as a "Release" normally would?? Thanks ! By the way, that "ballad style" track was awesome !

      Not a gamer but I checked out that sound th-cam.com/video/oAhvQoLpvsM/w-d-xo.html and to my ears it sounds like a combination of synth/sampling tones, including Roland D-50 (I can hear 47 Spacious Sweep and 81 Intruder FX in it www.synthmania.com/d-50.htm )

      What a good ear, sounds definetly like these patches you wrote were used in some of their form! Also seeing for the first time your website I could fully appreciate your knowledge and passion for the subject. What can I say if not complimenti!!

    Was just reading that this Wasp quite possibly was the synth used on Depeche Mode’s Never Let Me Down Aggro Mix (the arpeggiated bass line that’s absolutely awesome). Any truth to this do you know?

    15:10 Is this F Mixolydian? Love that melody. It's a bit like 80s game and demo scene music!

    Thanks for your video! You didn't talk about the double trigger issue on s19 series. I personally have it on my unit..

      Thank you for watching! I did not know of this issue, but someone else also reported this in another comment. My unit is S20, I didn't experience any MIDI double trigger on my copy. I would suggest to contact their Technical Support team
