OMG! Just came in from a walk with my beautiful Rottweiler girl, nearly 6 years old. She came to me like a gift from heaven nearly 2 months ago. And lets just say that walking on a leash was not here strongest side:) But after watching this video and others from Mcann, we have gone from her nearly pulling my arm off when smelling something good, to actually for the whole walk totally changed mindset. (read: Me). After trying out inside, doing some exercises in the back before going off, we had the best walk and time of our days together. Just a few corrections along the way. What a difference! I can not wait for our next walk and the weeks to come to practice this to make it become the new normal. Both Lizzie and I are so grateful. Thank you!

I have a 1yr old recuse that I've had for only 2 weeks and he pulled non-stop while on-lead. I did this session with him just one and I'm astounded, we can now walk almost continually on a loose lead! Great actionable tips. Letting him realise that he is his own barrier to going where he wants when he pulls works well.

Thank you for all the great training videos! We had two dogs and had to put one down a year ago (had him 13 years) and had to put the other down this year (had her 14 years) and we decided to adopt two dogs from the humane society. One is a two year old 18 pound beagle/chihuahua mix who is eager to please and he likes to stay close to us and is quick to come when called. The other is a 9 month old Bulldog mix who is very intelligent and very motivated by praise and food, but she doesn't listen if there's a big distraction (like our outdoor cats in the yard). She has been very quick to learn not jumping up (thanks to the tips from one of your videos). I ordered a long lead just now so we can start using things from this video to work on re-call and staying close.
It's difficult because the two dogs love playing with each other and chasing each other around the yard, but it isn't fenced. There's no traffic to worry about, but our yard is surrounded by woods and we don't want her chasing a deer or getting bit by a snake.

The way we see people is a reflection of who we are. We automatically judge everyone and create our version of them in our story of life. Also, there are many versions of you in this simulated reality based off everyone's perception of you. You are not the same person to each person that knows you or has experienced you in their story and there will be more versions of you in the "future" which is actually now because all there ever is, is NOW!

I’ve been really trying to focus on name response for my puppy. He sits pretty well in the house and even outside okay for now but he has a hard time responding to his name consistently. I do short range practice in the house using a toy or his kibble as a treat. I may bring a toy outside. He like playing with sticks and leaves and other things when we go out side so a toy may help reinforce his response outside. Thanks for the tips.

Sore hands? Ha ha. One dog i had…..finally ruined an already bad shoulder from playing tennis wrong….love it. Im have done walk three. This is ideal. Plus i will add….its not about the walk its about the loose leash. Personally i dont do heel. I like a somewhat casual arrangement. That might be less clear but this is the best advice ive seen! And ive seen many from several different dogs ive owned. Its harder if you havent raised them from a puppy

Wow I love this video. I got a gsd and he is entering his 10th month and has never had this no tugging habit in him. Do you think there is hope for him even though he is 9 months + old? he barks a lot at dogs and taking him out on the road is well… umm… always an experience :p

Tried this long line with a lab pup years ago, in seconds he figured the game and scooped up loops of line, jerked on it and ran down road with 15 ft of clothesline in his mouth, when he was on leash he took the slack in his mouth and steered the kids holding the leash where he wanted to go. Now live where dog park won't allow leash , treats or toys or long line work in park so when got rescue dog had nowhere to do work that was fenced, relatively squirrel free where could use treats. But he seems to like watching this video... do you think he will learn from screen?

I am definitely going to try this well, a more modified version because I have back issues and cant move that much. So far my dog is amazing but he pulls on walks. But he can sit stay clmes most of the time when called, he even high fives, bows, and if I say boop he comes and touches his nose to my finger. I'm really good at teaching him adorable tricks and less good at realistic tricks

Great video, just wonder if would be possible to see example of more extreme case. I am walking a Westie who does not respond the same way as Lucy here, he just pulls and stays in pull position when I stop as soon as he starts pulling, absolutely does not want to return back whatever I do.
