Wow, this brings back fantastic memories, it was 1976 [a drought year] when I did loads of exploration with the YSS.Good times, I even helped out with a rescue at Bull pot. Thanks for posting.
That’s what we used if we were ‘modern’ cavers. Many of us still preferred carbide lamps, often with a dry battery light back up. I used to own an alkali wet cell, but it didn’t work very well. Battery leads would get caught on rocks as did the batteries themselves, it was a constant effort to keep them free. LED lights must make it much better.
Don't know if it was legal but I went through there with a school trip when I was 15 about 1971. Guide was a teacher but also in cave rescue organizations. Another teacher stayed on surface.
Quite a journey! Thank you for posting this.

Cant ever remember doing this cave. Looks fun, but I’d not want to go back to caving, it was a hard sport, particularly on the knees.
I have just got given all your vids, really enjoyed them thanks 😊👍🇬🇧
A very memorable trip and was very chuffed to have done it - one of the toughest I've completed - thanks for posting
Wish I wasn’t claustrophobic so I could do it but panicking is a no no and I think I would but all credit to you guys 👍✊🇬🇧
Those head lamps looked like NCB ones they were quite heavy battery ...

That looked wonderfully sporting. If I was a bit younger, and in Britain, I'd love a through trip with a guide. I think I'm past that now though.
Awesome trip we did it overnight at high level emerging at 5 am :)
fantastic through trip......we did the duck at hardy's.
Whats in the yellow box?
