It's kinda funny how I've had all three of these things done, and I'm only 16! (I've had glasses since 1 or 2, had one surgery when I was 2, and again at 6, and patched for a few months during 4th or 5th grade. I also have a whole slew of other things wrong with my eyes too, like being near-sighted and far-sighted at the same time for starters!)

I had to get glasses at age 3 because of a lazy right eye. Took 7 years to completely fix it with glasses, but I remember when I first got them. My parents thought I would yank them off or break them. They were surprised because I was happy to have them since it helped me. I was taught how to take care of my glasses by how to remove them from my face properly. I couldn't reach the sink to clean them, but my mom or dad would have me stand with them, hand them my glasses, they would show me how to rinse them, and then how to dry them. I also knew to put them in their case at night. I remember picking out my second pair and being very excited that they had Garfield glasses. They were blue and were just branded with Garfield (so it had the little clear sticker on the lens with Garfield's picture and name, but the actual glasses had nothing on there with Garfield). I picked those glasses because of Garfield. I remember my favorite pair ever were my next to last pair before I went out of glasses (but I was back in them by age 12 for nearsightedness). They were Guess brand and were metal blue, but it looked like blue pebbles.

@@user-yk7jl4of2r you don’t get better from a lazy eye it’s mostly permanent unless you get surgery to straighten it I think idk but I have a lazy eye and got surgery so when I wear glasses my eyes are straighter , but not completely
