GoPowerSports is your friend! I’m not sure how much more you want to mess with it, but a modest cam, billet connecting rod and some heavier valve springs along with a high-flow carb and exhaust will let you turn it up to about 7000-9000 RPM and double the horsepower while making it stronger with the billet rod since the forced oil pickup scoop is WAY better designed. For like $500, you can have quite the little beast of a tractor.

I bet that would work better with an 8hp Predator engine. Compared to your 6.5 hp Predator, the 8 hp engine has 42% more displacement and 84% higher peak torque. That's work that you can get done faster and easier, and it only costs you an extra $50 over your 6.5 hp engine. Cool part is. The way you setup the “line shaft” for the belt drive clutch. If you wanted to you could add another motor or two. Or a bigger one easy enough.
I wonder how she look with the skins and the tank on ? Might help protect the motor from weather. Really great to see old farm equipment brought back to life!

From what I see, a lawn mower moves with that power (I use it in my garden) with a 22-inch wide blade and manual push .... You could take that front flywheel cover off. Find another engine like it and attach the crank shaft to the flywheel of the other engine. Time it so it runs smooth and you should be golden
They make a brush cutter that runs off of a small motor to tow behind ATVs. Not much difference. My 27hp Kohler Command can cut 72” wide and saplings up to an inch diameter.
Stick a used 2.5 4-cylinder Jeep motor on it. You can get one for about $300-$400 from a Jeep junkyard. Or an Iron Duke 4-Cylinder. Or the 2.3 that came in Ford Mustangs, Rangers, Escorts, etc.
So curiosity question if you put some rotational weight on the pto shaft would it help carry the bush hog through bigger stuff or would it hurt more than helping

On my rig it a 1958 case 700 there is two inputs one to drive the wheels and one for pto the one for the PTO does not turn no matter how much power you put to it

Flywheel effect of blades and drive shaft helped . Going through a long patch will be harder…

I have a 13 horse predator on my wheel horse pulling tractor and the RPM range is totally adjustable on that sucker and it will scream

yes but it would also blow up after awhile that is why you got to find that happy sweet spot where it can be run all day long

I have a 340cc Honda on mine sometimes it's not enough power in high gear but it a way better than yours around 8000 lb with liquid in the tires
