With my design plans in hand, and my first ever circular saw, it was finally time to cut some materials! I just had to figure out how to use this saw 🤔
Don't feel bad. I did the same thing when I got my first table saw. The pre-installed blade had the logo printed on the opposite side as the Diablo blade I replaced it with. I figured it out when my basement started filling up with smoke from the blade burning the wood instead of cutting it!
That will do it! I was lucky I noticed the blade wasn't spinning in the direction I expected lol I think a lot of people must have had a similar experience, thanks for sharing!
New maker here as well. Did not do that mistake but had one or two dangerous missap using a router for the first time ( and second and third 😂). Keep it up it takes time.
Making mistakes and learning from them is one of the best ways to improve. And don't worry, we've all been there at one point or the other. General tipp tho, if you can't see the wall of text on the side of the blade, it's wrong. Also I agree, it should absolutely been at 0 degrees
Thanks, I'll remember to look for the text, and you're right! Both about making mistakes, and that the saw should come at 0 degrees lol That's part of why I edit my videos the way I do, I can take out mistakes but I would rather show them as a way to help other people be okay with making them too, it's a part of learning.
I didn't know this but I just looked it up and you are very right, there's formaldehyde in the dust particles from MDF. I have another video coming soon where I'm not wearing a mask while cutting it so I'll put a disclaimer, and I will wear one for the next MDF project. Thank you very much for pointing this out 🙏
Insightful, compelling, and rich.
Go feed that kitty!
Thank you good sir!
Dexter beckons me!

Thanks! I definitely want to get familiar with a router too, so it's good to know I should exercise caution when I do that as well 😂

i think it would've taken me like a million years to figure out that the blade was the wrong way lol probably felt good to finally figure it out!
haha I mean it took me longer than it shows here, but it was totally satisfying when I got the hang of it ☺
Please wear a respirator when cutting mdf. Breathing that dust is not good for you.
