I remember listening to this on Spill. I love this story. Martin kind of left the story back then with "Yea. He pretty much accused me of being a pedophile."
Now, there might be some folks who think Korey should have done more to stand up for Martin. We all like Martin and didn't like to hear how Korey's father talked about him that day, but there was nothing Korey could have done that would not have made the situation worse. Keep in mind that Korey's father is the same man that beat another fellow soldier who was in a higher position than he was while he was still in the military because that soldier in a higher position said something racist to him. Also keep in mind that back in those days things were way more hostile towards black folks in general. That is how less of a care father Coleman gave.
@@TimeMakerMan He really did have it coming. No argument there. However, it was very risky for father Coleman to do something like that during those times, so it took a level of "don't give a care" that few people have.
My grandpa fought in a very bloody anti colonial revolutionary war and exhibited much of the behaviour I see in grandpa Coleman. War just destroys people.
This is the funniest old black military man story I've heard in forever. Old black military men, especially the ones who been in war do have their crazy moments.
@lenindominguez1986I had multiple teachers in high school and an assistant principal who were Vietnam vets. I know that stare well. They scared the hell out of all the students.
Only way I can come explain it is my dad used to be real funny about company, kids and family mixing together. if it’s too many different groups of people, he can’t watch them in his house and he’ll start running scenarios in his head.
It’s pretty depressing knowing that some individuals have to grow up with abusive fathers. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones to have a dad that’s on nearly the same level as I am, so I can’t begin to imagine what it must be like to have the opposite.
Based on this story and other stories Korey has told, I kinda feel like Korey's dad thought Martin and Korey might have been more than friends". My dad was like that (I'm in my 40s, too). I always had to act extra manly when he was around. He thought everything was "Being a sissy". Playing with toys, watching cartoons, whatever. Didn't help that I was nervous around girls and never brought one home.
Kind of reminds me of my late uncle Bruce. Man seemed to like to fuss and argue about almost anything at my aunt. Nothing that got anywhere near abusive or physical mind you. just more irritating/hilarious than anything else lol. Though Papa Coleman sounds a lot more terrifying than my uncle 😅.
With all the comments/jokes about possibly being on the Spectrum, Korey, any chance that the genetic component is on the dad's side? This sure sounds like a stone's throw from an autistic shutdown/being overstimmed from the situation/overwhelmed by the extra person on top of the situation.
Upload the podcasts sooner. It's kind of trash how little DT seems to care about the podcast feed but that's the only way I can usually catch the shows. Doesn't make sense to keep up with the shows if I'm seeing the clips on TH-cam days earlier.
3:06, "Did you have a different hat on?" that went under the radar 🤣🤣🤣
Young Martin just had too much swagger for old Willy Coleman to handle.
😂 when Martin said why you invite me and Corey I thought it was ok. 😊
Papa Coleman must’ve saw Martin with his hat looking like Freddy Kruger which would explain why he didn’t want Martin next to the kids 😅
Bro 😂😂
Man I can only imagine how Martin feels when he looks at the picture of Korey's father. That thing stares into Martin's soul 😂
Good thing the Grim Reaper took his soul away. I know I went too far, but for real, Papa Coleman should know better.
Nah man, Martin's more like "If it weren't for Korey I'd crush you like I crushed that turtle."
@@CrankWavesbackupchannel You referring to Korey Coleman himself or his father, Papa Coleman?
@@G.S.Productions I was referring to papa Coleman.
Korey's dad is a vet. A lot of veterans don't like being around a bunch of people.

Korey's dad is already mad about paying for everyone to eat and here comes Korey with a surprise guest to eat his food😂
I know black folks who would kick out some folks who wont do shit but keep around that one weird family member

What a badass

I respect Martin for just laughing it off❤️ we’ll all them laughing about it
I love Korey's Dad's stories, they are always funny.
Parents are odd, no matter how old we get
Gotta love the topgun chars pfp 😎

Was Korey's father a Vietnam war veteran?
Seems he had that thousand yard stare.

Korean War
Always can enjoy Koreys stories
Once i heard Korey’s dad impression I already knew what this was leading into bwahahahhaha 😂😂😂😂

That makes sense
Sometimes we can’t be bothered with company 😂
Willy Coleman looks like my Dad and acts like him.
A battle I didn't know I wanted to hear about. 😂

Reminds me of my mom and when I was a kid 😂
My parents were like that. They liked to be prepared for company. & I find that I’m like that now
Speaking of Mr Willie Coleman, did Korey ever learn to change a tyre? I remember that being a traumatic moment for young Korey.
My did, Navyman, once made me and my brother change a tie in the middle of a storm when we were 13.
3:29 This would be explained as anxiety nowadays your Pops). Back then it just meant someone might catch some hands.😂
Korey has the best stories 😂
Only the real ones remembered this story on A Couple of Cold Ones. I still got this episode downloaded til this day haha 😂
Where can I find it? I don't have all of them

Do you know which year and date that was?
Just listen to this on twitch 😂 😂.

Yeah, this does make a little more sense than thinking he's a pedo.
Eww. He never thought that.
Exactly! I'm surprised no one mentioned this. He for sure thought they were gay
Oh boy
Damn Corey sorry that you had to deal with a father like that, sometimes going to the military can mess up your mental.
Old black men can’t switch off protective mode when kids are around. You have to respect it.
If my dad doesn’t understand what’s going on, he’ll freak out too. It must be an old black man thing.
If was in the hood the shotgun would have came next.
Then Martin wouldn't be here to tell funny stories like how he knows cocaine tastes like aspirin.
Damn, worst i get is people thinking I’m a cop
My father scared me as a child, I'm still not over it; and to this day I've still never forgiven him.
I feel the same way about my mother, and a big reason I don't talk to her anymore.
Just know that you're not alone.

Nah not Pedo. Gay Martin, is probably what Korey's dad thought. That's probably why he flipped out cause he thought they were in a relationship.
