    What a fantastic tutorial on how to practice potting and safety at the same time on your own. I guess introducing to blue to its spot will make the exercise more difficult,but help to get into the habbit of missing the blue from safety play

    Nice routine. Its so useful. Tanks for video. I have a question. I always lose my cue action and my shot material. For example sometime i cueing like osullivan. Somtimes like selby. Or somtime shot too fast. Or too slow. And the material of shot always change. And it efect on my ball control and my poting. And this become a big problem that make it serious when i go for shot. And i lose simple pots by over thinking on cue action.

    What do you do if you mess up big time and the red is also behind the baulk line :D? If You pot the red in the yellow or the green pocket, you earn three points but your safety was shit, so you reward yourself for a poor safety...

    Well explained!! In the real situation, there will be the building and a few scattered red balls at the bottom. So the game gets harder

    To try to encourage safety more, maybe you can get 2 points if leaving the white ball passed the baulk line but also passed the edge of the D too, whereas you still only get 1 point if the white settles anywhere between the baulk line and edge of the D.

    This problem changed my break point from 50 to 20. 20 point after 10 time try the routine. Somtime i pot a very hard red and stop on straight black. And for over tinking and lack of confidence couldent pot.

      While you are learning the game, this is something that happens to all players. You will have days where it all feels natural and easy, and on other days, it feels more difficult.
      It is a good thing that you understand your own cue action, but once you are in a match, you just want to think about positioning the white and not all about your technique.

    • @soroushm3862
      @soroushm3862 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How can i control my mind and forget about cue action just when i do prepration for shot?

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@soroushm3862 this will just take practice like any other part of the game. The more you practice relaxing and letting your natural flow take over, the better you will become at it.
      Like all elements in snooker, you're trying to improve a little bit in all of these areas every day. I have missed many pot through over-thinking, but as I have improved, this happens far less often.

    Fantastic video mate, delivered as promised. Thank you! Feel my game improving week by week, my high break may not yet be matched but my consistency in potting & positioning is improving drastically. I'm at at stage now where winning or losing means little in comparison to improvement within my match play, i feel delighted coming away from losing frame / match now knowing ive consistently played well / improved, even if it costs me a few quid :P

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks a lot! I think you have the perfect attitude. What you want to see is the improvements, and so losing matching is just you gaining even more experience. Keep it up 🙂

    Sir , I want to ask that how you & other top professional snooker players practice focus & concentration ??? Do you & they practice some special exercises to increase focus & concentration?
    Give me some tips on how to increase focus & concentration... & also some tips on boosting up my confidence while I'm down in a frame ... Plzzzzz reply ASAP ....

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one can pot the balls for you. It all comes down to putting in the hours on the table. The better you play the stronger your mind becomes. There are no tricks to focus and concentration. Some are just better at it than others.

    Great video like usually sir. Please keep them coming. I really like this practice exercise. Definitely will try it. Makes so much more sense rather then just potting ball miss try to respot balls all the time etc . Excellent idea. So much easier and the way you showed it makes me think it cuts time walking around the table and extends the actual practice time.

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex. Yes that's exactly the idea as you say. Allows you to keep playing shots with a goal in mind. Much less wasted time. Thanks for watching as always 🙂

    Plz can i ask you, like i dont have much space in my home for the royal snooker table, can i use mini snooker table to practice? Or is a bad idea? Plz i need your answer.
    Thanks a lot.

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello!
      Yes there is no reason why practicing on a smaller table won't help your snooker.
      The more you can practice your cue action, the better you will become overall.
      Hope that helps 🙂

    Hi Steve! With the longer pots when i have to stretch a little further and have a straighter arm and use a longer bridge the cueing seems hard to keep striaght through the line, what is the best way please i use the rest but on tv they make it look very easy i am about the same height as yourself Thanks!!

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These shots are just more difficult, Paul. If you have a little mini extension to put on your cue, this sometimes helps as it just allows the grip hand more room to complete the follow through properly.

    • @paullowe6590

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You need to change your thinking patterns. Try to just focus on doing the right things in your own game, instead of trying to beat the player you are playing.
      Do your Pre-shot-routine and just do YOUR best. Don't worry about the result of the frame. Just keep trying to improve.
      Hope that helps 🙂
