I like your videos, they are useful and informative. I really REALLY dislike this clickbait style of saying Sweetwater screwed up your guitar at the beginning of the video. Not that I totally bought it, but it really feels awkward and wrong. I can stand a mild clickbait, even though I usually don't go for it, but this really seems like too much. My 2 cents, obviously, for what they are worth, but I thought I'd share it...
House of Guitars and Sweetwater - I’ve done business with both, and they are excellent sources for musicians of all levels. Good for you, David! I’m happy to hear that the Sweetwater team came to your rescue. That is now one unique guitar! 👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻❤️
Glad Sweetwater was able to get your guitar issues resolved. That's a real nice guitar. I have an acoustic electric that I added a Piezo to. I couldn't get it to play nicely with the other pickup in the guitar. I saw a Mike Dawes video where he talked about his setup, and he ended up using two output jacks, one for the Piezo and one for the regular pickup. I decided to do the same, as that makes blending the sound of the Piezo with the other pickup easier to manage inside a Mixer. No weird phasing problems, and easier to dial in the right balance and tone.
Man, I remember Parker Fly guitars were the big thing back in the 90s when I started playing. Guitar World full page ads. I wanted one so bad. This video is bringing back memories.
An original Parker deluxe would have had none of those issues. My 98 is still in great playing condition. Plating wear, dings and the like just add to the story. It's my believe that after the company's sale, stuff changed. Enjoy the guitar again. Sweetwater is tops.
I'm so glad to see that Sweetwater was able to fix all issues so nicely !! 👍 Always loved the Parker Fly and now I'm looking forward to see it in some of your upcoming vids. Parkers are such amazing special guitars. I have a Parker Fly Mojo and a Parker Fly Single Cut. Both are phenomenal. I also have two Parker Fly 5 string bass guitars which are equally phenomenal (and rare). Your Night Fly is beautiful and sounds fantastic. So cool that Sweetwater got it back in shape for you. Great video! You tricked me with the title though….lol
Nice video. Cool story. It was edited well. I honestly hope you got paid for the nearly 13 minute Sweetwater commercial. At the very least I hope the did the repair for free. However, my absolute favorites part. Even over a really cool vintage-ish looking guitar. The hair in the 6 videos. Seeing the change over time. That was the best and absolutely my favorite part.
I'm so glad your guitar came back with new life and rocking again. The guitar closes to my heart is a Gibson SG faded T. I saved up all summer around 6 years ago for a new guitar and I wanted something really nice. Unfortunately my house got flooded so I had pay for repairs. Then about a week later I went to my grandparents house and there was a box sitting in the corner from Thomann. I didn't think anything of it but my grandfather bought it for me because he knew how badly I wanted a Gibson SG. Like you David for years I learned on it wrote songs, i wore it out and dented it the past 5 years or so but its the one guitar that I'll always pick up first and never let go.
I said in an older video that Patrick Cummings from Brian Moore guitars will install usb and synth inputs if you want , I personally don’t use them or want them. But he installs them in any guitar. He’s in upstate New York.

I bought a new Charvel DK from Sweetwater. Included in the deal was being Plek'd. It is one of the finest sounding and playing guitars I have ever owned. I have 26 all black axes. I did receive the guitar partially disassembled and they agreed to fix it but I didn't want to take the chance of shipping a second time. They allowed me to fix it myself and make it good if I screwed it up. When I put is all right it was still perfect. I play it regularly on gigs and at home and LOVE it. No business is perfect but they DID step up tot he plate to make it right no matter what it took. Can't say enough good about them. Unfortunately I can't say the same about guitarcenter. Won't get into that but I don't do biz with them again

Since the sale Sweetwater isn't quite the same. No 600 page catalogs twice a year or more. No more Chuck Surack in the Sweetnotes... I split my orders between AMS and SW because AMS has much more flexible financing w/o credit card plus they send you $20 off coupons in their catalogs; funkier shipping than SW but you're covered by warranty and AMS so no big deal. The only guitar I had to put in the shop was from SW despite 55 point check - they couldn't stop the 9th fret sprout and pull-up about a WEEK before warranty expired on 50s CV Tele. I'm from Singapore. Wish I had a story like yours but the Parker Nite Fly I bought in '97 was a nightmare...played and sounded great in shop but developed many dead spots on the neck after a few months. The retailer wasn't much of a help sold it at a big loss. The guy I sold it to came back after some time saying some frets had fallen off. Warrantee period by retailer had lapsed so they didn't care. Wrote it off as bad experience and didn't touch a Parker again though I thought their design and specs were cool. Sigh :(

Hi David, the acoustic sound blew me away, brother man. Yes sir, I’ve been dealing with Sweetwater for years and they are straight up fantastic. They treat everyone like gold. Of course the title of the video brought me here, because I didn’t believe for a moment that they did poor work for you, so had to see if you’d lost your mind or this was a hook. A hook it was 😂. Great video 👍🏻
Hi David , I bought a bc rich stealth guitar , I think in 1984 or 86 , I can’t exactly remember just now , but it was made in America , before they shifted to making them in Japan , and it has the year stamped into the back of it , so I used that guitar for 20 plus years as my main , the stealth model did not have the popularity of some other bc rich models , but it was a great guitar , it had an original kahler tremolo / whammy system , actually worked better than Floyd rose in many ways , anyway , I had to put the guitar on the shelf , mainly because the kahler system went crazy , and generally guitar needs a lot of overhauling , of course I use other guitars , but that stealth meant a lot to me , unfortunately , there is nobody in my area that can fix it , there used to be craftsman around , but not anymore , because over time , guitar wasn’t taken seriously , kids in school would learn enough to bring their grades up , but after that they would move away from guitar , so the professional guitar places went out , no business , there used to be a place near me , they would even build guitars for you , and could fix anything , in fact , many players went there , I know Steve vai went there , they built his first guitars , de Marino guitar builders , so what can I do since all the professional guitar shops are out of business ?
Sweetwater had trouble with my guitar, it was a basic setup. I've found that the Floyd Rose is a mystery to a lot of guitar techs. My advice, try to find someone local if possible.
I enjoyed the tale of the guitar and what sweetwater did for you. I wish I could visit the store, I never drove up when I lived a couple hours away. Now it’s too far. I am not really irritated about the “click bait” idea, but the way you did it, it simply wasn’t necessary. I would have clicked on one where you titled it “exceeded expectations!” Anyway enjoyed the story. Peace!
Cmon Dude. Usually love your stuff, but this is a shit title and misleading for such a solid and awesome company as Sweetwater and, in the end, your extreme pleasure for their work here.
I had an original Parker fly and I hated it. They looked so cool but I never liked the feel or the sound. The piezo’s had a bunch of problems and needed constant replacement.
I want to upgrade my Schecter Diamond series Banshee-7 A. I want to get rid of its stock EMG 85-7 and EMG 81-7 and install the Fishman Fluence Abasi hum-buckers and set up the coil split options on them, and install a momentary kill switch. I love the way that guitar looks and feels, but i hate the tone of those EMGs that are in it. They sound great for distorted tones, but their clean tones SUCK, and i mainly play clean.
What a great idea to have piezo as well as magnetic pickups. It seems to me so obvious now that's the way it should be done universally. Never heard of Parker guitars before; first time. The only thing that could make this guitar better, besides Sweetwater's improvements, is a zero fret. I don't understand why not everybody use them. Not having a zero fret requires the nut to be leveled to perfection... A zero fret is a much simpler solution. Well, another huge improvement would be 24 frets, like Dean's.
Sweetwater is the best! Hopefully this doesn't cause any skimmers that don't actually watch the almost 13 minute video to not deal with Sweetwater. The header does make it sound like they screwed it your guitar. If Sweetwater does screw up and it's truly their fault they will definitely make it right.
I would suggest you find a local shop that specializes in plek services and is reputable. For one, you’re supporting your local businesses. Two, you don’t have to risk your guitar getting lost or damaged in shipping. And reason number three, there’s shipping costs and sweetwaters marked up prices. Reason four, sweet water is such a large scale facility, so you really want to trust your investment into an unknown? You might as well take it to guitar center. Reason five, this channel is making commission for this video and it’s promotion. This is an ad
I couldn't watch the entire video because I was so angry at Sweetwater for screwing up your guitar. I have had good luck with Sweetwater in the past, but after this, I'm done with them. That guitar is humming so loud it sounds like a power line. Sorry you had this experience with Sweetwater. Thanks for the heads up on what used to be a great company. Kevin O'Rourke
covid screwed a lot of things up but I got lucky in June 2021 I called and asked when they expected the Gibson les paul standards in? they said November a lot can happen in those few months so I just happened to watch a Gibson video they had just opened the Gibson garage so late July I called and a week later my new Gibson les paul was at my front door
If Sweetwater is the "best", then knowledge means nothing, measurements are ambiguous; and if a person "likes" high and low spots on the their frets or buzzing then that is correct, nope, they are just stupid, and they have no understanding of the physics of a guitar and why things are done the way they are done. "Well, I like my strings to pull sharp when I fret a note and buzz to wear out the frets, because I like huge divots in my frets. I like all my saddles straight across, instead of stair-step intonated." If you have ever seen a properly done Plek and setup on a guitar then you can see what perfection actually is. Proper setup is what it is, cutting a nut too high so it is not in tune is not OK just because someone "likes" it.
Pas mal, n'est pas! David, I understand that TH-camrs need to resort to a little "click-bait" in order to pull in viewers, but in this case I think you not only did a disservice to yourself, but to Sweetwater. The clear implication from your title and the segment's early minutes was that Sweetwater had committed some horribly incompetent repairs on the guitar, when in fact, the complete opposite was the case. I'm a huge fan of Sweetwater and your channel, so I was disappointed when you reverted to the low-rent, negative implications that you'd been wronged, ostensibly to build an audience... I think you might owe Sweetwater an apology...
I've been following you for quite a while, David. Your content is excellent. No need for the click bait manipulation. Please refrain the next time you're thinking this might be a good idea. Respectfully, thanks.

Maybe I'll send them my beloved '93 American Standard Strat!
Not only do I buy only from Sweetwater but their service department is awesome and I only let them repair my guitar!
Peace!
Should have used Gruhn's Guitars in Nashville. Greg Voros wrote the book for Luthiers.
probably a much longer wait time/more expensive to have a guy like that (one man show type) do the work.
Insert *Ya know? They really had us in the beginning* meme
Oh yeah, le retour de la Parker !!??
Your guitar sounds very good with the piezo especially. To be honest, a guitar becomes a more personal part of you if you modify it. I like it :)
Tell that to my mountain of partcasters that had a bell curve of attention haha
I had you down for being Australian, don’t know where I got that from 🙈
Cos he looks like Toady from Neighbors...
@@drew1035 he does a bit eh
What a great idea to have piezo as well as magnetic pickups. It seems to me so obvious now that's the way it should be done universally. Never heard of Parker guitars before; first time. The only thing that could make this guitar better, besides Sweetwater's improvements, is a zero fret. I don't understand why not everybody use them. Not having a zero fret requires the nut to be leveled to perfection... A zero fret is a much simpler solution. Well, another huge improvement would be 24 frets, like Dean's.
This did seem like clickbait. Thanks though, you do an awesome job!
South France miss u for sure 😉 Do u miss south of France ? 😉awesome guitar that...deserves u !🇫🇷👍🏼🍒
I hope you did watch it all for the surprise twist!
Woot Rochester!
Sweetwater is awesome. They are not cheap. But they are awesome.
The headline alone hits hard as a very BAD idea.
I'd paint it green.
They sent my yamaha silent made a mess, the strings uneven and the finish sticky, I'm not happy with Sweetwater.
time for and upgrade 😊
Strange looking axe for sure.
covid screwed a lot of things up but I got lucky in June 2021 I called and asked when they expected the Gibson les paul standards in? they said November a lot can happen in those few months so I just happened to watch a Gibson video they had just opened the Gibson garage so late July I called and a week later my new Gibson les paul was at my front door
Not quite grasping how Sweetwater screwed it up
“pee-AY-zoh”
So it works again. Don‘t touch it😄😄
Spoiler alert: Awesome outcome ahead.
Wow 🎸❤️
@8:13 OUTPUTS !! HA!
Sweetwater loved it and approved too. Pfew! Thanks for the nice comments on the channel, it means a lot!
