I love playing as Tokugawa, picking a map with sparse resources, to better clump up districts, and minimal distance city placements, and hopefully getting Feed the World to help the cities grow, with internal trade routes all going to the Magnus city which also has the Gov. + Diplo. districts for even better internal trade routes is just nuts! Easily 7+ adjacency for any district.
@@UrsaRyan Well, the internal trade route bonus is Tokugawa specific, where as Hojo, you can get half-production cost Holy Sites, Theater Squares and Encampments, plus coastal bias. Which can be detrimental to setting up the central Magnus city.
Communist Tokugawa goes together like peas and carrots, to quote Forrest Gump, who also happened to randomly appear at a critical moment during Tokugawa's reign to help enact the Meiji Restoration... Got to love when it's time to declare war on the last person that happened to be your ally the whole game and they never bothered to build walls. I remember taking out 3 Pedro cities with 1 shotting helicopter armies thanks to the railroads I built in His lands on the first turn, Rio fell the next same thing, game over. Classic Genghis Khan...
Ursa thank you for your content. Can’t sleep cant understand the world. Lost my grandma today and your consistency keeps me sane. I appreciate you and thank you for being you
Loved this playthrough! Strangely enough, I haven't got around to playing Tokugawa yet, but your playthrough and insane yields makes me want to get onto playing him very soon! And in fairness to Ayr, Scotland probably thought you were full of hot ayr anyway! 😎
@lesbaguette4381 ....I mean, with a cursory search on Steam, I was quickly able to find that Gedemo has a Morocco civ that seems to be pretty well liked. Sure op doesn't list any mods but it is extremely easy to find one that has 8k+ current subscribers.
Sometimes a tough choice when the AI conquers a city state then builds a great wonder there whether to liberate it or just take it. Jerusalem wasn't really relevant for this game, but sometimes the city-state can change the game (especially when getting a second suzerain for the Kilwa bonus)
"The egyptians thought their nation would be eternal, forever shielded by the walls of Edfu... their hopes were shattered when the planes from the mighty city of Destination reduced those walls to rubble in a single run"
You can take your time to fill in the map with the Take Your Time mod... Kind of similar to the Historic Speed mod. But yeah, I was just playing around with that and Urban Complexity, and running a Yongle empire where all the cities were getting up to 100 population. Kind of mental. It's also cool that the TYT mod gives you a reason to have 25K science. But obviously, it's a computer killer. Anyway smashing game!
@@MH-hu5pi It gives you the ability to increase the cost of civics and techs by up to 7X. You can also make late game civics and techs scale further. So it makes the eras take longer. Kind of like Marathon, except it doesn't affect build speed. There are settings in the options when starting a game, so you can set various things to scale independently.
Next time you play Tokugawa and use Secret Societies, Vampire Castles can really pull their weight in getting your capital as good as the cities feeding off it.
*Very disappointed with today's video, Ursa. We had some dance toons with every episode of this series! Insomnia, Destination Unknown! Where was today dance track? Now, I can't write another lot of lame unfunny lyrics. lol* 💪👍
When you're Japan, surely the ambush recon unit is Anna Baninja.

Just a Japan sort of game really!

cause everyone knows helicopters fly faster over railroads. lol
7:22 there must be a pub in Takamasa. Which is probably why the trader is going through Phoenicia ? Lol.
I always forget pub mechanics

"AnnaBanna, coming in the Ayr tonight."
Oh lord what, you don't like the pun?
Very good
I like how Kilwa and Colosseum where built in in both cut scenes making for odd continuity
That cheeky multiplayer tease right at the end...
hehehe
A tokugawa biosphere run would be pretty fun
You are hands down a best Civ6 youtuber in my eyes.
Also you are or have a best Civ6 editor.
Sleepy is indeed the best editor

I couldn't recommend him highly enough! Well worth playing
day 4 trying to get ursa to pay attention to this comment and play with Morocco in civ 6
With what - I don't see any prominent Morocoo mods.

There’s so much to like about this episode, but my favorite part is seeing the settler train in action
So much fun!
27:20 Conquering AIs to save computer performance… recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 players would agree.

I'd like to see a challenge in which you have to build dams on every river in your empire and canals as there will be good places to build them
Damm the world!
Remember, Japan doesn't build GDRs, it builds Gundams.
7:15 Trade routes move like waves AND like particles
Trade theory
