      Yes I agree. They were great to communicate with via Instagram but a website is always preferred when possible.

      Absolutely worth a look. The website is still under construction but I communicated with them via instagram. A link to their page is in the video description.

      Thanks man and yes they are really nice. For instances where you can't get lasted trees from the shoe maker this may be the next best thing.

    I'm quite convinced the company makes trees for J Fitzpatrick and/or The Shoe Snob Store. Looks exactly the same as the Shoe Snob Store's, and just that JF hollows out a large portion of their trees

    • @mbshoedoc
      @mbshoedoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes...Not sure if that information is supposed to be secret so I try not to disclose things unless both the manufacturer and retailer are ok with it. But yes I had a chance to compare my J.Fitzpatrick trees to these and the last shape and single spring construction appear to be the same. Keen eyes my friend 💪

      @@mbshoedoc I think if you're making MD Shoes' trees with LaBerta, wouldn't hurt to have them hollowed. I have both J Fitzpatrick (hollowed) and Shoe Snob trees (unhollowed), and I'd say I prefer hollowed trees for weight purposes. And do opt for either a ring, brass knob or hook. The round knob on J Fitzpatrick trees are quite difficult to hold onto when pulling the tree out

      @mbshoedoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hanwenyap I appreciate the insights. I'm leaning towards the ring since I don't ever see that elsewhere. I too like the hollowed out for weight savings.

      @@mbshoedoc Not to mention lighter weight might mean lower shipping costs! (Depending on volumetric weight obviously)

    Nice shoe trees. I was curious in what you think the best cleaner is to remove a mirror shine without removing the color. I know acetone straps everything.

    • @mbshoedoc
      @mbshoedoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Acetone is a little risky to use. Saphir Renomat removes wax ok but I hate the smell and it can still strip the finish. I would melt the wax with heat as best option and or use pure polish cleaner conditioner. Removes wax as well as Reno to me.

    Hi, i have a question that i've never seen anyone answer... I have seen what appear to be some really cool spanish brands: dapperlane and crownhill, but i just don't see anyone talk about them. I also have seen dapper lane apparently sells under the name robert august but i just cant find reviews anywhere and everyone that asks about it just no one ever seems to respond, greatly appreciated if you know something about those brands!

    • @mbshoedoc
      @mbshoedoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep I can help on this one. Dapper lane doesn't sell under Robert August but rather they are both made by the same factory. Bespoke Factory to be exact. Search up Bespoke Factory and check them out on Instagram and you will discover a number of brands use them and you will see similarities in the shoes. I have reviewed a few brands using that manufacturer... Cru Nonpareil and Peter Hunt. Others I've seen are eremina, Matt Parker and Cheney Fu Paris. The more you explore in the shoe world the more you find there are a handful of factories making shoes for all the brands. Crown Hill looks to be another maker though. Not sure which factory they use but the others mentioned do patina shoes, not true museum calf like crown Hill. Hope that helps.

      @mastervader4444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mbshoedoc that is interesting, so would you say quality wise they are a safe buy? Is there too much differences even though they're from the same factories? I mean the shoes appear to be beautiful specially crownhill

    • @mbshoedoc
      @mbshoedoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mastervader4444 I don't have any experience with the Crown Hill brand but they appear to be high quality. I can say all the Bespoke Factory brands I have reviewed have been nice shoes. Check out my review of both Cru Nonpareil and Peter Hunt 👍
