I would say the one thing that gets me is the fact that Guts is genuinely more lost than his ever been he didn't give into the rage the sadness his just confused and doesn't know how to react to what happened. He kept it together for so long that when it was finally coming stable it was knocked over in his face all his hardwork the reason he fought endured and suffered.Gone. And he couldn't stop it hence he olds on to his sword looking for the strength to continue but it doesn't come to him even when he holds it he has no power of his weakness like he used to.
Im interested on what Guts will do in this arc. He's clearly beaten down and i look forward to see what it will take to pick up the Dragonslayer and continue his story to the end.
why should the trolls of the east look like the trolls of the west?? you seems to forget that the astral creatures are created by the minds of humans. In the real world historically the mythological description of creatures the same changed from culture to culture even when it was the same creature.
Let me answer some of your questions 1. Why are there new trolls designs? 3:19 - that's coz these new trolls are part human. Farnese stated in that same chapter that these trolls look a bit different coz they have "fleshy forms" now. By that she means that these are the trolls born from the women of Enock village that were raped by the trolls that came from qlipoth, so these trolls are part human, hence they look a bit different, we even see these women brutally give birth to these fleshy trolls in qlipoth. Reread the enock village chapters leading up to the appearence of Slan in qlipoth. 2. They forgot that time in elfhelm moves slower than in the real/physical world? - they didn't forget, it was explained in C364 by Danan that the flow of time in elfhelm moves faster than in the physical world during a fullmoon, she said "a few days pass in elfhelm during a full moon". So Moonlight spent a few days in elfhelm. Even guts party noted that moonlight boy didn't disappear this time. Reread C364. - the last time we see the outside world/physical world before elfhelm was destroyed is in chapter 358/359, everyone in flaconia still looked the same, no one aged, which means Guts party spent a few weeks at best in elfhelm. - the idea that the flow of time in elfhelm is so vast as compared to the physical world was extremely exaggerated by the mermaid and the story of Pikaf, it's been debunked by Danan by in C364. And also debunked by C359, coz no one aged in the physical world, and by that time Guts party have been in elfhelm a long time, these chapters were done by Miura himself. - so studio gaga didn't mess it up. The time dilation was not that massive.
Really appreciate the well thought comment! I went back and re-read the troll segments, and I still think the design we saw there was the much fuzzier OG troll to be honest, but in terms of the time flow I think you’re right, re-reading 364 it seems Miura did minimise the time difference in the end. Thanks!
@@alexenterprises1 Glad I could help clear some things up for you. the new trolls are the same trolls that the women gave birth to in qlipoth, the new troll design seems a bit different from the ones we saw in qlipoth coz at that time the trolls were just born ,and lacked any obvious distinguishing features, now in the new chapter the trolls have grown. You can tell by the design that these trolls are part human coz they have no fur, they are skinny, they have human hair, they also have human-like bodies unlike the OG trolls that are completely ethereal and not born from human flesh, and have fur and they are bigger and look more monstrous. If you're not still not convinced then eh I don't know what to tell you, there's no contradiction imo.
@@thabangsibanda3282 You’re correct about the time difference not being that big between Elfheim and the outside world. But you’re idea about the trolls now being the same ones that were birthed from the woman before just doesn’t seem to hold water. Where was it established that the trolls would look different due to how they reproduced? Sure Farnese says how they look different but that’s just because they do. But hey the continuation team seems to enjoy just making new rules regardless of what Miura established so maybe you’ll be correct?
@rucaud8931 "where was it established that the trolls would look different due to how they produced?" -it wasn't officially stated, it was implied, we even the trolls born from humans didn't have fur(in C216/217), like the trolls on C378, Plus Miura died before he can finish, so why would you expect everything to have been established already?, besides the trolls born from humans wasn't established that they will look exactly the same as the OG trolls either. - It makes sense for the trolls in c378 to have some human features since they're a mix of two species, they're not pure trolls like the OG trolls. The OG trolls are 100% pure astral trolls, they are not born from human flesh, but the ones in c378 are not pure trolls since they're born from humans in C216. Miura didn't dive into them yet it but seems it would have came full cycle again when we see slan again, like currently were we are now in the story. - An example is Grunbeld, his apostle dragon form still has some human features coz he's not a pure dragon, we've officially seen what a pure dragon in berserk looks like, they have no human features, unlike Grunbeld has human features.
@@thabangsibanda3282 What Miura established is what the team is supposed to stick by. Not make things up to make the notes from Miura flow better. There’s no evidence to support that the trolls are the same. We already see trolls walking around after the world merges after the blast of the astral world. They look exactly the same as previously shown. It doesn’t even make sense why these trolls are spawning from “Qliphoth” since the worlds merged with the creation of Fantasia. You’re Grunbeld example isn’t comparable at all. Every apostle looks like a mixture of some creature combined with how they looked as the human. I don’t need to explain that trolls and apostles aren’t the same thing. Trolls are Astral creatures and apostles are formally humans that are filled with evil.
I think a lot of people will perceive this as Berserk Continuation Hate and I'm sure that's not what it is. You love the series a lot and you're still excitedly reading, you're just nervous about the content. So far it has all been good but the things you pointed out are legitimate and its important to note the issues.
It’s crazy how someone could see this video as continuation “hate.” It’s so tame. To me the least the continuation can do is try to not break what was established by Miura. Even if they have little to go off of. They don’t have to make every note work if it means compromising what made the original so great.
You’re the only TH-cam channel I’ve seen that would dare point out some of dumb things that are part of this continuation. Please keep making videos about it. The overwhelming majority of youtubers that review each new episode basically just retell what happens without a thought and than spawn 2 other videos with hair-brained with “theories” to support ideas that Miura did not establish before his passing.
The new art style reminds me way too much of a berk doujin i may or may not have read years ago and i can't unsee it now 😞 They've done a great job with the detailed large panels though

Thanks for speaking out loud what many have to hear. On Reddit the continuation is treated as the best thing ever and when the series has come so far that you had to make *that* (admittingly very funny) intro, then you know things are going the wrong way. Due to how well the series is drawn many people seem to overlook everything that's currently missing. Interesting character interactions, great dialogues, and so on. You mentioned that Erika weirdly hasn't been shown yet for example. Even bigger is that Guts seemingly only cares about his sword - he hasn't even had Caska on his mind at all despite her being kidnapped. It's just as you said: we have to take those episodes very roughly (e.g. a God Hand member will appear in the east) to see what Miura wanted to show us. Those tiny bits of information is what's great about the continuation existing and I'm glad we're at least getting that. Even if I'm not able to stop comparing it to Miura's genius
Except interesting character interactions, great dialogue are what we’ve been consistently getting, you not being able to see that is your problem and no one else’s, and we literally haven’t even see into what Guts fully thinks yet, so that point you made is ridiculous, and of course he cares about his sword because that’s the weapon he’s been using to do all of this and has been shown to be almost completely ineffective against Griffith. There’s SO much on his mind right now, so just because we don’t get a detailed analysis on it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Also, good writing is SHOW don’t tell, and we don’t need all his feelings to be literally be told to us to know how he’s feeling about Caska. If this was written by Miura himself I can guarantee you would have no issue with it.
@@TheSupaman98 I disagree. Most conversations feel very shallow, state the obvious or feel out of character. According to Japanese translators even the Japanese is written differently to how the characters used to speak (e.g. Skull Knight). And while I agree that Guts' weapon is important to him, it's not as important as Caska. If you disagree, I'd suggest re-reading the last 20 volumes or so. Also, where exactly is it shown from characters that they care about Caska? Most talk is how Guts is depressed and hence unable to fight but at the same time dangerously instable because of it. With Miura I would've expected a lot of focus on Caska's kidnapping by Farnese for example, who developed a close relationship with her over their journey. Another also: there's tons of "tell, don't show" right now, the opposite of what is considered good story telling. Why exactly do we need to be reminded by Serpico and Roderick more than 40 volumes into the series that the guys who kidnapped them are Bakiraka? And speaking of Bakiraka, when Rickert fled with Silat to the Bakiraka's hideout, they fled to the Bakiraka's hideout, not the Kushan's capital. Remember that the Bakiraka are outcasts and Kushan's think of them as lesser beings than themselves. It's sadly full of inconsistencies and we'll have to live with them. What we gain by the continuation is some nicely drawn art and a bullet point of what Miura intended to do, e.g. the party going East and planning their attack on Griffith from there or that another God Hand member reappears there. Everything else has little substance, as sad as it is.
Huh? Guts isn’t just sad cause of his sword lol. Even casca makes the connection in 372 that without her there, guts will break. Everything he did, his entire purpose and will to fight on, that is, to protect casca, he couldn’t achieve. “It was all for nothing”, and his sword represents that. His will to fight is gone, cause he just couldn’t do it. His purpose/struggle was for nothing, so what’s the point of picking up his sword and fighting on. If he couldn’t protect the person he loves, why even fight. I think it’s a great reflection on what it means to loose your purpose/not achieve your goal in life. And people being positive on reddit shouldn’t bother u as much as it does lol.
@@scottgimple8107so you think a panel of Guts remembering some random Apostles and the possessed horse is better than him thinking about Casca? And no you’re wrong. People would have a problem if Miura was depicting things this way. Do you think people just “hate” on the work studio Gaga and Mori are doing because they have some personal vendetta against them? No. It’s just pointing out things that don’t make sense based on what Miura had established. Like why did only some of the elves disappear appear from Elf island but not Puck? You better believe people would question that if Miura wrote it.
My idea is that because trolls are astral beings, these might be an Indian version of the Troll archetype, but I've also seen the theory that they are troll/human hybrids, that messes with the way I think about troll reproduction, but its very possible.
