what in the world are those Integra's running? the type-r's . they are sounding like jets when they pass. I have never heard a car like that before. sounds like pure air coming out of its butt. I need to know how they did that, I live in the oppressive U.S. and the car nazzis impound and crush loud Hondas. I've lost several cars already. anyone know the exhaust system they are using? they don't seem to have any promotions on their cars leading to a shop or to a car build or info page. 😣
I have seen a CRX made into RWD, I have only seen one though. What I have seen more of is AWD stuff. They graft the AWD hardware from a Element under the car and make whats needed for the rest, computer controls and stuff. It is pretty interesting to read about because when you look there is what appears to be a trans and driveshaft tunnel already made into the car! Crazy!
rear wing on FWD is just to stabilize the back end, so the tail doesnt easily break when entering corner, since this kinda track would need an extra oversteer setup on FWD so they can corner faster, you can see the way inner back tire lift up during corner, thats only happen when you set rear antiroll bar to a stiff position.when u talk about front wheel downforce it can be manage by soften the front suspension so the nose wont lift up too much under acceleration..
Blair it seems you forgot about something. back when my friend and I decided to make a crx AWD drive crossover, the Honda Civic Wagovan is all wheel drive and a 6 speed. and since its already in EF all the parts bolt on. Minus a few chops here and there. also you know Honda made a dual engine CRX 1st Gen. so you have an all wheel drive 8 cylinder Honda from the factory. check out the old car driver episode I think it was 1984
front wheel spin can also be eliminate through the gearbox ratio, downforce do play a part on tire grip, but antirollbar, suspension setting, camber and brake bias, gear ratio, body weight play important part on tire grip, eg. you set a suspension on max stiffnes, it does fell stiff on bumpy area, but when u set the anti roll to soft, your car wont fell as stiff on the corner, .not trying to argue but that was my experience when i was FWD circuit driver, i drive RWD now its just a different world.
because most of them drive in a class where no modifications on the exhaust system are allowed. The cars are more or less original cars just some small changes on the suspension...
true, you said the v6 now your talking about the biggest cummins there is, also only when equipped with the right transmission does it actually go above 800 ft/lbs. just to be clear. some people dont buy Hondas to beat mustangs just like some people dont buy work trucks for performance purposes. Also only in certain racing are the two in different classes. there are many different kinds of racing and these two vehicles are facing each other on tracks all around the world, but not on tv lol
Everyone telling me to get rid of my ep3 since I recently bought a type s rsx but I can’t let go of the ep3 it’s almost the same exact car but both are fun in there own ways and both look nice to me
I think these Vtec engines must be one of the most high regarded engines, along with the Boxer from Subaru, Rotary from Mazda and the inline 5 from Audi. What does it matter, I like all of them and nice video btw :)
soo many ep3!!! I love mine stock blue but the cruise control doesnt work. I turn it on, I felt a soft kick and then quickly turn off itself. Any ideas?
That is also true, but that doesn't mean it's useless on a track. VTEC's engagement point is predetermined so that it can continue its power curve at high RPM and fall back into a little bit of torque when it's revving too low for VTEC. Its function is essentially to extend the power band. How can you consider that useless on a track? All it means is more useable power. Not more powerful, but a greater range of power across its power band.
Of course there are FWD bicycles. I'm gonna answer your question with another question, ever heard of snap oversteer? Apparently you haven't, nor have you pushed a car hard enough to experience it. A properly set up car will handle neutrally with a hint of oversteer, regardless of the drivetrain layout. Sure having drive wheels in the rear can HELP you in the tighter corners, but having drive wheels in the front can provide you with the means to "push" much harder in higher speed corners.
Downforce works on any car , no matter what drivetrain your car has. Fwd cars are light in the back so any downforce on the back wheels keeps the rear on the ground, especially in very fast corners. Fwd's can oversteer to when driven hard and fast.
Can someone tell me how they corner so well?!?!? They're fwd they should be hitting the barriers and shit doing that speed! I know the suspension, types, rollcage and wing help keep it still but do they have some sort of special diff????
I see the closed captioned button and then only text that comes to mind is "bwaaaaah pop pop bwaaaaaaaaaaaahhh brapppp pop pop bwaaaaaaaaaaahhh pop bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah brapppp brapppp pop brapppp bwaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh" lol
The point isn't getting more power. The point is keeping some low-end torque in one cam profile, and then switching over to another profile for high RPM performance. Of course aftermarket cams will be just as good AT HIGH RPM as a stock vtec cam, but they will inevitably suffer at low RPM, whereas vtec would not be engaged on the stock cams, maintaining power on the low end. VTEC is a solution to get around that. I'm really confused as to what you don't understand. VTEC is perfectly useful.
if someone talked about a racing line and apex in this kinda road or touge or rallying i bet they dont know anything, sometimes the proper racing line or apex does not make you go faster, what makes you go faster is how you positioned ur car so you can take the corner as fast as u can with minimum speed loss...which sometimes proper racing line and apex makes you brake harder and lost some speed...
That's not a very well founded assumption. In most circuit scenarios, drivers never shift back into 1st gear after their launch. Therefore, if they're going around a hairpin turn, they would most likely keep it in 2nd and rely on normal cams to pull them out of the turn.
You only hear it from behind on acceleration, so I doubt it. I've never heard of a diff being that noisey on cars as close to road ones as these. I'm not ruling out the possibility that you could be correct though.
Its weird, watching a built honda for actually racing such as these is more fun to watch than any supra skyline or rx7 but half the fun to actually do I think. Just my $.02
If you right click on the video there's the "loop" option, this video calms me and I could listen to it for hours lololo.

These drivers must be race Gods because they are pushing it beyond the maximum. I am actually scared and on edge watching this. I love Honda!
AMAZING VTEC crossover at 0:29
Cool to see you guys try to cater to all tastes. Thanks for posting this one up.
I love your videos, but now that you have a honda special you've made my day!

Imádom az alulról tolást, de ez a pörgős folyamatosan erősödő teljesítmény is nagyon király!!!
The hills are alive with the sound of vtec.. BRRAAAAAPPPP!!!!
I don't know why but unfortunatly 2012 no prelude or s2000 was racing at those events in Switzerland....
Loving them EP3s. Proud owner of one :p
Best sounding machines . Affordable to anyone.
2:33 that's a FD2 R right?
It was nice seeing those Honda's lifting the inside wheel on that uphill chicane!
This looks so damn fun!

the sound the yellow crx makes wen he lets off the throttle, is that the turbo spooling down? i like that sound.
They all sound so lovely

Yes, most likelly it's the exhaust. I don't really hear it in all of them, rather in more stock ones.

i love how a highly modified K20a2 sounds :)
a honda video with no ricer comments, nice to see people can recognise real engine modifications
3:39 hahaha look at the driver he is happy hahaha ;)
1:00 that is the Honda that had a crash on the hillclimb
Can someone tell me how they corner so well?!?!? They're fwd they should be hitting the barriers and shit doing that speed! I know the suspension, types, rollcage and wing help keep it still but do they have some sort of special diff????

The best engines in the World!!!

3 wheel motion in the EP lol because of the torsion bars correct?
fabulous stuff!
K20 VTEC. What a great exhaust noise.

why does every driver shift freakin' quick in this race... awesome... does every car runs with a sequential gearbox ?
Beautiful.

love the video and high rev engines
