Imagine rebooting the universe two times in three games, and the first game after the reboot you go straight back into time travel and multiverse bullshit again.
Yeah I’m not even gonna lie I thought the whole point of calling it Mortal Kombat 1 is that they would reset everything and start completely anew. I actually like some of the changes they made, but relying on time travel and multiverses again seemed like it was tacked on for the sake of gravitas.
the new writers gutted Dark Raiden, and now, the future of the story being any good, all because they have such a hard on for ending the story with Avenger End Game battle bullshit
You also decide to go through the plot of the original timeline in basically one game. You have the MK tournament, Sub-Zero turning evil (except not becoming Noob), the Deadly Alliance, the appearance of Damashi, and Armageddon.
Two things: 1. The Shirai Ryu is named that in Scorpion’s tower ending. He names his new clan after he and Smoke flee to Japan to hide from the Lin Kuei, and names it after a childhood friend, who it’s implied that he marries. 2. Hanzo is mentioned in the game, just in Smoke’s tower ending. Basically, Hanzo is an orphan who tries to mug Smoke to get money for food. When Smoke learns of Hanzo’s backstory and how it’s similar to his own, Smoke decides to make Hanzo the first initiate of the Shirai Ryu
Not only did they bring that back but then they fucked around and put a supermassive case of multiverse theory into the mix with a dash of the "everything is canon" trope as now all MK11 endings are canon and everyone that was ever in MK up until MK1 has a titan variant. It makes things even more convoluted as it now included several DC characters into that mess (Thank you, MK vs DC).
I mean they'd already committed to it with the end of MK11 they had to finish it. Now hopefully we can move forward & set some stuff in stone as a new timeline. idk ig we'll see.
@@tracycook3556this was supposed to be a fresh new start. 11 finished it with the DLC. This was the laziest dumbest way of continuing and an outright list of lies on Eds part.
@@BopaBola & IT WAS an attempt at a fresh new start. That's the point. (tho some things are still fixed see : Sindel) MK11 Finished with Liu Kang beginning this timeline & this is what happened in it. What would YOU have preferred? Like everyone is complaining, but how would YOU have written the story? Also what lies?
My biggest problem isn't that they changed too much, it's that they didn't change enough. Ultimately, with the exception of a few characters, nothing's really different.
Yeah pretty much the characters that are supposed to be good are good and the ones that are supposed to be evil are evil so what’s changed? If they wanted change they should have made Shao khan an actual good guy l😂
@@QuangNguyen-dz5hl sindels character was already butchered in the timeline before the reset I mean in MK 9 they stated she sacrificed herself to put a protective barrier around earth realm to keep it from shao khan and when she was resurrected she had to be put under quan chis control yet mk 11 reveals she was always Evil? It dosent make any sense why would she put up a barrier to protect earth realm from shao khan then?
"Like who gives a damn about Havik", he's actually one of the most popular characters from the 3D era (like seriously top 3). People were begging for him to come back for years.
In gameplay this version of Havik is probably the best MK character of all time. But in the story, he's basically nothing. There's no reason to be hype about this version of Havik being a main villain. Especially if this game's "variant" system is anything to go by, he'll just be regular Havik but with fire powers or something.
@@slvrcobra1337 I can grant that. NRS really needs to do literally something about jobbers. It's one of the worst aspects of these games. Just because you replace Mileena, Reptile, and Baraka with Nitara, Rain and Havik does not make the situation better and it makes what could be interesting characters with good motivations just a dude to beat up.
Totally fair but counter-point, being popular in unpopular games still leaves you a bit niche. Also even as someone that enjoyed those games, the most popular of the cast had a lot to do with most of those characters sucking ass.
seems like multiverse are the universal solution for anything you did wrong in your piece of media nowadays. wish i could enter my own multiverse to fix all the problems in my life, too...

Why did OG!Shang Tsung disguise himself as Kronika other than to trick the audience? What, did he think posing as the main villain of the last game who isn't supposed to exist would be less likely to draw Liu Kang's attention than posing as just some random guy?
I really want to ask what the point of cuffing Scorpion is. He can teleport. And it's not like those chains interrupt magic or something, he can still use his hellfire on it. Why the hell does the ninjas need to sneak around when they can teleport. Hell, Smoke can go invisible too. Also, during that Scorpion vs Sub Zero cutscene, did Scorpion forget that he also has a knife? Did Sub Zero forget he can create bigger weapons than a knife? Did EVERYONE forget that Smoke was there too? Wtf was he doing, just watching?
I wasn't bothered by that as much as the fact that both Scorpion AND Sub-Zero get defeated in that cutscene by *a few random goons with no special powers*
Well Subzero had the chance for a killing blow, my guess is he simply did not want to kill his brother (at least at that moment) since he was still trying to get him to his side
Honestly, I would like to see a Mortal Kombat game where Shang Tsung and Quan Chi began at the bottom rung and were society's punching bag, but it made them humble and had them become heroes as a way of showing that people can improve and change in their lifetimes, kind like a karmic change similar to the serial killer that the Buddha made one of his most devoted disciples. That would be interesting and at least it would be unique and different from the multiverse crap.
Or even if they still wanted Shang Tsung to be a "villain", when I saw the first trailer I thought the idea was that on the surface, everything looked peaceful but Shang knew Liu Kang was playing God and nobody was truly free to live their lives. Shang is the only one aware that Liu Kang keeps rebooting the timeline, and each time Shang Tsung rebels against him. The main storyline would be about how Liu Kang has almost created the perfect timeline, but Shang Tsung is influencing character arcs beyond Liu Kang's control. Tsung tells others about the timeline, which leads some of the typical "hero" characters to side with Shang Tsung because they don't want Liu Kang controlling them. They could've really done an interesting twist where Shang is right to be angry and becomes the hero to Liu Kang's villain, where he has unknowingly driven himself insane in pursuit of peace and perfection.
I think Dart is the only person keeping track of Mortal Kombat lore. Watching his live streams of this game were pretty crazy. He was all "So and so's not a member of the Whatever Clan!" without skipping a beat so you know he wasn't looking it up on the fly. I mean, good for him for having the head space for Mortal Kombat lore.
In fairness to Liu Kang, the game does establish that he cursed Shang and Quan Chi to lead empty lives… but added a caveat that they could escape this destiny by coming to open up to and care about others. They were just so purely evil from birth that the escape clause never kicked in, I suppose. Also, that “Alien” reference with Johnny was SO close to being really funny, but they dragged it on too long and spelled it out too much. If they’d ended it with his friends going “What!?” And then him giving an annoyed sigh at no one else getting it, it would have landed.
Especially the pandering and blatant focus more on representation and equity over quality and storytelling. Every single Outworld villain is a male jobber, and every single Outworld hero (except Syzoth and Baraka) is a flawless girlboss. Liu Kang really DID learn his script writing from modern Hollywood.
Thank you for being the first person to mention that about mercury. That drove me nuts that they acted like it was deadly. You can play with mercury and be fine. It's not as deadly as people seem to think. The problem is when you are around it chronically, and especially when you are in a room without good ventilation, breathing in its vapors. You can drink it and not die because your gut doesn't absorb much elemental mercury. Now if it was organic mercury, which is clear and looks like water, even a pin prick drop of that touching your skin for a second will kill you in one of the most painful ways possible. It will take a while, but you are doomed. Trace amounts of organic mercury (carbon-bonded mercury molecule), is what is in food like tuna, and eating tons of tuna can cause mercury poisoning because of that.
@@CsubAzUrmedve It's such an incredibly small amount in one can of tuna. You have to eat a not-so-normal amount of tuna to be affected. Basically, people who live on the coast and survive on seafood for all their protein are the ones really at risk.

@@Axelplaysalot yeah I agree with you there paying money to play as a fighter in a fighting game is not my proudest moment. I did the same with Jason in Mortal Kombat 10….and that was the worst decision. His fatalities were awful
Best moment for me was easily Liu and Kitana reunion and Baraka chapter. But you hit the nail on the head on Liu and Raiden switching places. That's why raiden to me was one of the weaker characters. Also the multiverse angle did kind of.break the story so you hit a lot of good points.
1:43 It took you until now to notice? Some of us realized the old Midway edge was gone in MK11 when we noticed the female fighters dressing more conservatively while patching out the circle game from one of Johnny’s poses.
pervs can't perv anymore woe is you. Also Midway literally fucked over so many female actors & exploited them. (like there are legal cases from female actors) I think it's a good thing they are stepping away from those practices. Also I think the story will get darker as it goes if that's a concern. It's the start of a new era & we already seeing cracks in it. But if the issue is girls not having giant boobs that jiggle for your dick to be happy. Then yeah bye
Honestly, it would be something straight out of Smash Bros Brawl's campaign and Sonic coming out of nowhere to damage the world ending threat and I'd love it.
@@fieryrebirth Omni man would’ve destroy everyone as soon as they’d mention their plan to restore balance. Omni man, “ what’s important is viltrimite will rule your realm and you’ll bow to it its will”
I kinda wished for Liu Kang to directly give his thunder power back to Raiden instead of relying on Elder Gods' amulet mumbo jumbo. Wouldn't want Raiden getting funny ideas and change the timeline again
I can't tell if the dialogue was intentionally written to be campy, but 90% of it sounded like it was just characters explaining their backstories or how things worked. That's not a definite problem, but the issue is that it lacks charm. Especially when everyone talks about other "timelines."
Some def was meant to be campy. It is a MK game after all. It's story has never been the best. Fighting games aren't exactly known for deep storylines / perfect writing. It's a reason there are so many memes based around the story over the years.
11:00 kenshi didn’t steal cause he’s trying to break away from crime and become honorable and robbery is the opposite of that 11:30 made it so 11:50 he wrote the broad strokes of history like events happening in general but he didn’t write specifics like he didn’t write that Jared would get murdered or that tarkat would exist his not omnipotent or all knowing cause if he was so would’ve been kronoka which means she wouldn’t have had to restart the timeline so much 16:10 Liu didn’t write tarkat that come about naturally
Your biggest misconception is thinking Liu Kang hand crafted everyone's story you keep saying "why did Liu Kang do this" the only thing Liu changed personally was stripping Shang Tsung and Quan Chi of their magic because they would be the ones to challenge him and mess with the time for their advantage. After chronica Liu vowed not to get involved in anyone's lives, so he didn't choose scorpion to be Kuai Liang, or Cassie not to be born..."in my new era all beings will have the opportunity to find peace, whether or not they do will be their responsibility"
23:15 honestly it's hard to pin down because the timelines are so fucked up. But in several games the Tarkatan race hasn't been exactly kind to other races, that and all the eating and slaughtering people. Also just as a personal note IDK why but tarkatans in this game look like diet Volatiles from dying light.
I think it's important to note that Liu Kang did not preordain everything in this universe. He kept severe threats in check and leaned everything more towards peace, but held no sway over where everyone else was headed. He never intended Mileena to take Kitana's place as empress, he merely gave Mileena a fair shot at living a peaceful life at Kitana's side. He never orchestrated the Tarkat disease as a new interpretation for Tarkatans; in fact having Tarkatans at all was never his plan; it seems like he wanted Baraka to have a more successful life as a well-accomplished Edenian merchant. Liu Kang has stated in multiple character interactions that he can't control everything and even if he could, he wants people to choose their own path in life (besides the more dangerous ones).
This was beautiful. Folks can like what they wanna like but this story was so off. All the praise it gets, I'm just looking around thinkin "Do y'all not like good storytelling?"
I liked this games story too but Dartigan has a point in doing the multiverse timeline fight again when they just started the reboot. That could have been like a 5th game for the reboot. What are they going to do now???
@@demetriusprime1505 I liked seeing Mileena in the spotlight after that, not much love for what they did with anyone. Even her character got a downgrade. The story was nice in the fact, another game came out.
@@demetriusprime1505 Who knows with Liu Kangs odd choices. I noticed in MK11 for most the arcade endings, the villains were able to perfectly craft world's without much sacrifice. None of the good guys could.
Ya know honestly this entire thing happened because of Liu Kangs sheer spite against Shang Tsung lol. This possibly could have been avoided if he just simply gave him an island or something to rule over. Instead he let his hate for him overpower his logic.
I'm sorry but that's some bull. All Liu Kang did was make it so that Shang Tsung wouldn't ever become a threat but could still have a life, hence Shang being born a peasant in Outworld. Liu Kang could've done a lot more than that to him, if he really wanted to spite him. And that's if he didn't just make it so Shang Tsung never existed at all in the New Era. But his hope was that such a life would reform Shang and Liu Kang never went out of his way to punish him or heap abuse on him. It was still Shang Tsung's life to live and his bio states he's "too lazy for hard labor and too shifty for honest work". Hence, Shang chose to be still be bad, Liu Kang's plan just made it so he would never become an enemy. I mean, look at what Shang did the moment he got any power. His lab alone is a horror movie.
I am around 17 minutes into the video, how is Sindel the Queen of Outworld? In the original timeline, she was Queen of Edenia which was forcibly merged into Outworld after they lost to Shao Kahn, her husband Jerrod also died against Shao Kahn in combat. *removed*
In the Og mk Timeline Liu Kang Freed Edenia from Shao Kahns control after winning Mk4 and it became a Seperate Realm( Fg Liu Kang is from the nrs Timeline who never went through mk4 Events).
Kitana has been 10k years old for all of NRS timeline as far as I know? Maybe you should do some research & catch up with the current game if you want answers. I'd type em out but ain't nobody got time for that.
I'm not even that astute of a story analyst and I lost count of how many times I was able to point out a plot hole. It's really strange how they decided to make Liu Kang recreate the timeline, but then make so many obviously bad and short-sighted decisions that anyone, let alone a deity with eternal life, would be able to anticipate. His treatment of Shang Tsung was honestly vile if you ask me, as he punished the man for machinations from a timeline that was erased, IE, no longer his fault. Different person now. Still he makes him society's punching bag.
after playing Mortal Kombat 1's story mode, technically there's alot of dumb moments etc involving the characters. Like Madam Rai Chu survivng a fall from the upper deck even though the whole fight was a staged test. She was still an old lady and dont care how "tough" she is, a fall like that could really have hurt her badly lol
They have to keep rebooting because people care about the story sooooo much, as though it has anything to do with gameplay, and the roster has to match the story. That's the only way to keep bringing back fan favorites
Ironically, that’s what causes the problems with the roster lmao. It’s based on who is in the story, not characters who people love regardless of whether they are in the story not
Except Necromancy and magical resurrection were already in canon as ways to bring fighters back ad infinitum if needed or they could just take a page from SNK's book and have explicitly non canom dream matches for characters that don't fit in the story but noooo we have to further destroy stakes in the narrative by adding le multiverse and infinite timelines completely unneccessary and entirely the fault of trend chasing and incompetence.
21:55 You also forgot to mention about how Geras somehow didn’t know about Quan Chi becoming a sorcerer, presumingly way way before Shang Tsung, because Shao already mentioned Quan Chi when confronting Sindel after the banquet
@andreiiiksavvv6054 King Jerrod taking over Ermac's body was never hinted in the Midway Timeline it was only hinted During MK9. Ermac was basically his own person in the Midway Timeline that voided away from Shao Kahn's side & decided to fight for the side of Good which he helped Liu Kang (soul) turn his revenant friends back to normal since Onaga made them into revenants.
Counterpoint: making essentially every ending of the last game canon is a very cool twist, and the end battle against the chimera enemies was hella hype.

You know, that muscular farmer from the beginning who revealed Shang Tsung's snake oil salesman act I could've sworn was Garrus in disguise to just kick him around and further beat him down, but I ended up reading too much into it.
I tend to think he was Baraka, since in the credits is listed with Steve Blum voice. And in LATAM Spanish, is Carlos del Campo. Baraka's VA. Maybe this was centuries before even Jerrod's assassination.
@@gonzalotorres5282 That would make sense. The only reason I didn't think of that was because that guy mentioned his family had died, but he didn't say it was from Tarkat and I could've sworn Baraka said he was infected and then his family. 37:10 Havik was given regenerative abilities by Quan Chi. He probably got his whole face burned away by Scorpion but he regenerated almost all of it, leaving only the skin around the mouth scarred to make himself appear more intimidating.
Part 2 133. Murder by inaction is still murder. 134. He clearly didn't melt the cuffs, just heated them up. 135. Ever heard of strength in numbers? Also, Scorpion is just really powerful. 137. Havok can heal almost any injury. He keeps his jaw that way to be more intimidating. 139. Smoke didn't know they were captured, and he probably doesn't have the ability to destroy the Soul Stealers. 140. A character being a hypocrite is not a sin of a story. 144. This but unironically. 145. The fact that he has lived a million lifetimes and never saw something like this is what disturbs him. He should know about something like this, but he didn't. 146. The Soul Stealers are active, genius. Also, the crisis is not averted as long as Damashi is out there. 148. Obviously there are also soldiers in front of the carriage. All quite different from the old timeline. 154. Outworld started a war with Earthrealm, obviously people have already died. No main characters, but they're not the only people that exist. 156. The amulet is an evil object. Liu Kang wouldn't want to use it, or he might be corrupted. 157. It's a covert mission. 158. You assume the Soul Stealers have a very limited range. 161. Jerrod still helps the heroes, even if you don't control him. 162. I imagine they'd notice Ermac having a different face. 163. Shang Tsung is established to just be that petty. And he recruited non-Titan Shang because he needed him to turn the realms against each other and assemble the Dragon Army, while Titan Shang was busy preparing his own timeline for war. 164. Better to use souls from the timeline you're invading rather than use your own people that can fight for you. 167. It comes up again in Sindel's arcade ending. 168. He probably plans to, but that's not the point. He needed a force already in Liu Kang’s timeline. 169. It sounds like they can do practically anything with this series now. Sky’s the limit. 172. No he hasn't. Almost everything bad that's happened has been due to Titan Shang Tsung’s meddling. 174. Conquer easily? That was never established. But magic can level the playing field. 177. Smoke still disrupts vision, even if it doesn't irritate eyes. 180. Just because the titans kept their powers, doesn't mean they obsessed over creating a perfect timeline like Kronika did. 182. That's true. And also not a sin. 183. Yes? That's what learning means? What The hell are you trying to say? 186. The same reason that there's a Shang Tsung in Liu Kang's timeline. When Titan Shang Tsung restarted time, a new Liu Kang was created. This is basic stuff. 188. There are other characters present at the battle, they're just not playable. 189. Pretty small army. And Liu Kang obviously avoided the timelines run by evil people. 190. Those are clearly two different Mime Johnny Cages. 191. Same soul? No, they're different people, even if they look the same. This is very basic multiverse stuff. 194. Liu Kang teleported them out too. 196. They murdered countless people. Saving the world doesn't change that fact. They deserve to be in prison. 197. In Scorpion’s arcade ending, we find out he named the clan after his childhood friend/love interest. 199. No, Raiden and Johnny Cage have quite different lives. And it doesn't matter anyway, because their lives are still different than they were at the beginning of the game. 201. Titan Havok obviously did not miss the battle, since he directly talks about how great it was. Dartigan's sins: 112

@@Phoenix6942-7 I have in many threads on this very video and not one person can give me an answer for something as basic as why Hanzo is suddenly a child. And not that anyone has said this, but “dIfFeReNt TiMeLiNe” is not an answer. In fact, it adds to the many questions, mostly with how this mess of a world is supposed to work. Especially when you take into account the Midway canon, the last canon, and this canon as well as Invasions and possibly even Onslaught. See how messy things get just from this one question? And there’s many more like it. This is just the tip of the iceberg. No one has an answer, not even the writers have an answer.
Overall good video but there are a few bad points. The reason for Scorpion naming his clan the Shirai Ryu is explained in his ending, which is canon alongside all of the other tower endings. It's also weird to sin the game for including evil Liu Kang when Shang Tsung killed him, because Shang Tsung killed our Liu Kang who we follow in the story. You don't question Shang Tsung's presence in Liu Kang's timeline, why question Liu's presence in Shang's?
The Shirai Ryu thing is a dumb retcon that doesn’t even make sense. The other thing you’re right about. It’s weird that he doesn’t also question Shang being in Liu’s universe
@@thatoneguy1232 its not a retcon it's a new timeline. Nothing from the og changed being what it was. js. There is a difference. When the timeline changed so many things changed & that's one of the things that changed & CLEARLY you are salty about it lol
@@tracycook3556 it is a retcon for multiple reasons and being a “nEw TiMeLiNe” is not an excuse. The Shirai Ryu was originally formed long before Harumi and Hanzo Hasashi for that matter. Now all of a sudden the clan is directly tied to and NAMED AFTER her? Make that one make sense. You can’t, but I still want you to try. Is it just a coincidence that the previous Harumi shared her name with the clan that her husband would one day join? That’s ridiculous D-Tier fan fiction level writing…and honestly that tracks for this game 😂
In liu defense of keeping characters and events he was originally a human what human would decide to completely erase everyone and everything they’ve known to make something they themselves aren’t entirely sure we’ll be better and not just stick too what they know but correct the stuff they felt lead to bad events/people and keep the stuff they knew lead to good outcomes Not to mention forget also first and foremost, liu kang is a monk
The biggest sin of all is the main villain being behind a paid wall like they went from a character that's not in the story to a side villain to main villain like Bruh
I really like the design for Quan Chi where he has skin color. There's a slightly Arabic appearance that gives the Jafar from Aladdin vibe. The white skin just makes his behavior come off as goofy on occasion.
Actually, during the wall scaling scene, Scorpion has the easiest and sneakiest method of scaling the wall... teleportation, he doesn't want to use it for some reason though.
@@throwawaelee what I mean is that it's intentional and it's happened in every mk game, therefore it's cheap to criticize, for example, how could geras lose if he can just freeze time and win instantly, or how could sub zero lose if he can spam ice balls until he freezes the opponent? They voluntarily don't use them to make the story smoother
@@Cosmefulanito2812Fair enough, up to some point. For example, if you give a character insane powers, it happens that you have to use plot conveniences and holes to allow themselves to self sabotage. Geras is a great example. Got beat in MK11 through cheap means by Raiden and Nightwolf/Shang Tsung that shouldn't have been a problem for him. All criticisms of MK are cheap, since it's a 1 on 1 fight game before it's a story game, if you think about it.
I honestly found myself agreeing with the villains in this game. Lu Kang is a puppet master. He ripped away these peoples chances at a happy life before they did anything wrong in this timeline. Instead of ruining their lives couldn't he have given them better lives? Give them a happy upbringing, a family, good health and comfortable lives? You know give them positive vibes instead of negative ones? I don't know it seems like an overly dick move on Lu Kang's part.
Lui Kang set it all in motion & then couldn't do anything. Humans have free will & he let what happened happen. He also gave up his powers so like this was what it was. Idk I don't think free will is inherently bad. He tried to set them on the right course & if they fucked it they fucked it. (besides from a story pov would be very lame if everyone was just happy in a murdery fighting game)
Whatever misgivings some may have with the game, the cut scenes were gorgeous and cinematic. Sindel was my favorite here. Gorgeous, sassy and of course, a bad ass. I was annoyed that she was killed though. Again.
You may or may not be missing an entire joke. Spanish: drunken = borracho (bo RAH cho) The drunken master's name, means "drunk" and maybe they pulled a Dragonball or something.... 🤷♂️
Sin 185: "It has begun". I personally find that line memorable, but a sin is a sin. There were a number of Mortal Kombat influenced music that utilized lines from the movies (especially the original) and games in their composition, and that particular line was used quite effectively (so I thought), so that would certainly explain my bias. That plus the entertainment I found in the line deliveries from rewatching my VHS copy of the original movie as a preteen would add to that, too. Regardless, another great video!
Idk how serious all the criticisms are meant to be and I think I generally agree with the overall tone of the criticisms regarding the general story direction but there's a lot of minor inconsequential things that I don't think deserve the title of a sin. It could just be satire and maybe I'm misinterpreting the tone but it all comes across very serious

You also decide to go through the plot of the original timeline in basically one game. You have the MK tournament, Sub-Zero turning evil (except not becoming Noob), the Deadly Alliance, the appearance of Damashi, and Armageddon.
Two things:

All too true. That was probably the only thing that got me hyped about this game. Well him & Reptile since they ruined Nitara
Well, Scorpion did tell Smoke to stand back (he said "This is my fight, Tomas")
Which was stupid of Scorpion to tell Smoke hey yo let me leave it 100% in the air who wins. Fucking idiocy.
Well Subzero had the chance for a killing blow, my guess is he simply did not want to kill his brother (at least at that moment) since he was still trying to get him to his side
Remember MKX where Revenant Sindel was stomping on Jax's metal fingers? I don't think NRS has a good writing staff.
@@slvrcobra1337 Now THAT is a plot! I love this idea! :D

Also, that “Alien” reference with Johnny was SO close to being really funny, but they dragged it on too long and spelled it out too much. If they’d ended it with his friends going “What!?” And then him giving an annoyed sigh at no one else getting it, it would have landed.

He's constantly leaving out context or outright misrepresenting the scenes, I love this kinda stuff, but it can't be lazy manufacturing things
after playing Mortal Kombat 1's story mode, technically there's alot of dumb moments etc involving the characters.
By the way if you take away sub zero scary voice he feels like that worker that hates his life and job and tired of cleaning up messes from dirty kids
Kuai Liang being Scorpion is the greatest sin of all. Fight me.
(Figuratively) Castrating Shao Khan?
That Alec Baldwin joke! 🤣
The mileena and tanya thing isn't new to this game. They set that up in a large portion of mileena's intro dialogues in MK11
21:55 You also forgot to mention about how Geras somehow didn’t know about Quan Chi becoming a sorcerer, presumingly way way before Shang Tsung, because Shao already mentioned Quan Chi when confronting Sindel after the banquet
Also, jarrod taking over ermac was a plot point in the 3D era
From mk9. Jerrod was never hinted as ermac at all in the first timeline (midway timeline)

That intro summed it up so well, wish I had such a way with words as you do dear sir!
The laugh track bid was perfect lol literally was thinking the same thing. 😂
There is so much god damn misunderstanding in this video it's crazy, like did you listen and understand what the story was saying, honestly hard to watch
You know, that muscular farmer from the beginning who revealed Shang Tsung's snake oil salesman act I could've sworn was Garrus in disguise to just kick him around and further beat him down, but I ended up reading too much into it.
I thought that guy would be an important character myself. I was thinking “Does he look familiar to me?”
That and Baraka was once a merchant while the guy in the beginning claimed he was a farmer. I don't know, I could be remembering incorrectly in a lot of places to be honest. I have really the world's worst memory lol
@@TheKpa11 I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought he was somebody of some importance. I feel a little better now lol

I lost it at the laugh track. Good bit😂
37:10 Havik was given regenerative abilities by Quan Chi. He probably got his whole face burned away by Scorpion but he regenerated almost all of it, leaving only the skin around the mouth scarred to make himself appear more intimidating.
Part 2
Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That's something we’re supposed to learn as babies.
152. Lui Kang, Raiden, Sindel, Mileena, Syzoth, Baraka, Tanya, and Smoke.

Yeah they had a baby together in MKX. She's p much been into Tanya canonically for 10 years.
51:48 That was actually explained in Scorpion's ending, he traveled to Japan and met his wife there, she is the one who named the clan, with a Japanese name

@@thatoneguy1232 it really does make sense.
@@tracycook3556 no it doesn’t make a lick of sense. There’s so many questions this one ending raises and not one of them are answered.
@thatoneguy1232 can you maybe ask those questions so that they might be answered? When you say something doesn't make sense, it would help if you elaborated.
It’s weird that he doesn’t also question Shang being in Liu’s universe

mk 9, x and 11 are better than mk1- my opinion. And erasing the original Scorpion (Hanzo) is sth I'll never forgive as a Scorpion fan.
In liu defense of keeping characters and events he was originally a human what human would decide to completely erase everyone and everything they’ve known to make something they themselves aren’t entirely sure we’ll be better and not just stick too what they know but correct the stuff they felt lead to bad events/people and keep the stuff they knew lead to good outcomes
Not to mention forget also first and foremost, liu kang is a monk

Yahtzee calling another game critic a "twat" is the height of irony.
It makes me wonder why cuff the 2 ninjas in the 1st place if they can just teleport

@@Cosmefulanito2812 well no shit, that's what a plot hole is.
Shang Tsung saying 'Let us revel in our good fortune" is also a direct quote from the intro to MK Deception.

Spanish: drunken = borracho (bo RAH cho)
The drunken master's name, means "drunk" and maybe they pulled a Dragonball or something....
